  • Whether or not you’re working from home or taking classes at home these days, the odds are increasingly good that you’ll be spending a lot of time at home in the weeks and perhaps even months to come.
  • Many people are worried about finding things to do to fill the time, and Amazon has a fantastic deal for anyone who has ever had dreams of dabbling in the graphic arts.
  • On Tuesday, for one day only, Amazon is selling the $100 digital version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 for just $59.99 on either Windows PC or Mac.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Most of us have dreamed at one point or another of being a better graphic artist. Maybe you wanted to create something beautiful just for fun. Perhaps you wanted to whip up a logo for your company. Or maybe you just wanted to edit a photo of your friend to make a hilarious meme. Whatever the case, Adobe Photoshop is the software you would have needed to know in order to make that dream a reality. Now that we’re all locked down in coronavirus quarantine for the next few weeks at the minimum or even months in many urban areas, perhaps it’s time to realize that dream.

Amazon is hosting a big one-day Gold Box sale that slashes the price of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 to the lowest point we’ve ever seen. The software normally sells for $100, but you’ll find it available right now at Amazon for only $59.99. That’s a fantastic deal for software so powerful and versatile that it could be used by professionals.

Three different versions of Photoshop Elements are included in the deal, but there are only two that our readers should be concerned with. One of the versions is a physical disc, but you definitely don’t want that because it won’t actually ship until sometime in late April. Instead, you’ll want to buy either the Photoshop Elements 2020 PC Online Code or the Photoshop Elements 2020 Mac Online Code. Then you can just follow the instructions below to download and install the software on your computer, and you’ll be a budding graphic designer before you know it. Don’t forget to send us links when your first meme blows up on Reddit!

This deal is only available until the end of the day on Tuesday, so don’t miss out.

Stunning iPhone 12 video shows Apple’s leaked prototype design with no notch

%name Stunning iPhone 12 video shows Apple’s leaked prototype design with no notch by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s iPhone 12 release is still six months away if all goes according to plan, but we already know so much about the upcoming new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models thanks to leaks from reliable sources.
  • When it comes to the iPhone 12 series design, we can expect a modernized version of the iPhone 5 with flat metal edges but the front and back will look just like the iPhone 11.
  • The iPhone 12 design will include a notch in the screen, however Apple is believed to have tested a notch-less iPhone 12 prototype and a new video reveals the stunning design.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Much to Apple’s chagrin, we know so much about the upcoming iPhone 12 series despite the fact that we’re still about six months away from seeing the company announce its new flagship iPhone lineup. Unreleased Apple devices always leak long before they’re made official, of course, and this year’s new iPhone 12 models are no different. As is always the case, most of what we know comes from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He’s the most accurate and the most prolific Apple insider in history, and his track record speaks for itself.

According to Kuo, Apple’s iPhone 12 design will basically be a cross between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 5. The front will look like the iPhone 11 with a notch at the top of an otherwise all-screen layout, and the back will have a big square camera bump with either two lenses on the iPhone 12 models or three lenses on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. In the middle, the phones will have flattened metal edges instead of the rounded ones we’ve seen on every new flagship iPhone model since the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were released back in 2014. Kuo also revealed several new features that will debut on the new iPhone 12 models, as well as something that would’ve been a huge surprise: There will be four new iPhone 12 series phones instead of just three.

Coronavirus quarantine kit: 5 things you need to avoid going nuts

%name Coronavirus quarantine kit: 5 things you need to avoid going nuts by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • With the rate of novel coronavirus infections picking up pace in many regions of the United States, people are being asked to self-quarantine in order to help slow the spread of the deadly virus that causes COVID-19.
  • It’s easy to want to be responsible and stay at home as much as possible, but reality soon sets in and people are beginning to realize how difficult it really is to remain in isolation, even with close family members.
  • There are some things you can get in order to help pass the time and in order to remain productive, and we’ve rounded up some great deals on those items in order to save you money.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Look, we’re all in this together. The only way we can possibly slow down the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is if we isolate ourselves. Whether you live in a big city or a rural town with a tiny population, the new coronavirus is still a huge threat. It’s highly contagious — more than twice as contagious as the flu — and it only takes a handful of people to start a serious outbreak. We’ve said it before and we’re going to say it again: Please, stay home as much as you possibly can.

Some states are already shutting down all nonessential businesses and forcing people to stay home unless it’s absolutely necessary that they go out. It only seems like a matter of time before other states follow suit, so we’re all going to be spending a lot of time at home in the coming weeks, and potentially months, since many people still aren’t taking the coronavirus seriously enough. With that in mind, we dug around for some deals to help you out at home that are still available and still shipping at Amazon. These are all things that you should definitely consider getting, and you should do it soon before they’re no longer shipping. Remember, Amazon is shifting focus to essentials for the next few weeks, so nonessential items won’t be restocked once they sell out and some shipments are already halted until late April.

A tablet

Watching TV together as a family is a great way for everyone to enjoy a shared experience without potentially getting on each other’s nerves. But people need privacy too, so it’s a great idea to get yourself a tablet that you can use on your own or share with family members so everyone takes turns. The go-to option for many people is the current-generation 10.2-inch iPad, which is on sale right now at Amazon starting at $279.

New Apple iPad (10.2-Inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) – Space Gray (Latest Model): $279.00

If you’re a Prime member, you can also take advantage of the lowest prices of the year on Fire tablets.. The most affordable option is the $50 Fire 7 Tablet that’s on sale for just $39.99, the $80 Fire HD 8 Tablet is only $10 more at $49.99, and the high-end Fire HD 10 that’s normally $150 is on sale for $99.99.

Fire HD 8 Tablet (8″ HD Display, 16 GB) – Black: $49.99

All-New Fire HD 10 Tablet (10.1″ 1080p full HD display, 32 GB) – Black: $99.99

An eBook reader

There’s probably no better way to spend your alone time than reading a good book. Apart from being fun and entertaining, it also keeps you sharp and that’s very important considering all the time you’ll be spending indoors. Amazon is offering great deals this week on its two most popular eBook readers, with prices that match 2020 lows. The all-new Kindle starts at $59.99 instead of $90, and the waterproof Kindle Paperwhite is down to $94.99 instead of $130.

All-new Kindle – Now with a Built-in Front Light – Black – Includes Special Offers: $59.99

Kindle Paperwhite – Now Waterproof with 2x the Storage – Includes Special Offers: $94.99

Headphones

If you need some space but your living setup doesn’t really give you the opportunity to distance yourself from other family members too often, the best thing you can do is get yourself a good pair of headphones. Apple’s AirPods are the most popular option out there right now, and Amazon has some terrific deals that are still shipping out right away. In fact, regular AirPods 2 just so happen to be back down to their all-time lowest price and AirPods Pro are even back in stock!

Apple AirPods Pro: $249.00

Board games

Our first few recommendations are great for some alone time when everyone wants to stay out of each other’s hair, but it’s also important to spend time together as a family. One of the best ways to do that is with a few fun new board games and there are a whole bunch that are on sale and still shipping right now on Amazon.

Best-Selling Board Games On Amazon: $7.88+

A streaming media player

Many families have one central TV where they watch most streaming content, but you’re definitely going to want to add a streaming media player to the TV in your bedroom if you can. The Roku Express HD is on sale at its all-time low price of $24 today, and the upgraded Roku Streaming Stick+ with 4K resolution and HDR support is only $39, which is even cheaper than it was last year on Black Friday. Shipping on those models may be delayed, however. If you want something right now, which is the whole point of this post, you can get the Fire TV Cube or Fire TV Stick 4K that ship this week, or anyone can save a few bucks by taking advantage of Fire TV Stick 4K refurbs that are in stock at a discount.

PS5 release is definitely happening this holiday season

%name PS5 release is definitely happening this holiday season by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Sony made subtle changes to the PlayStation 5 website that seems to suggest the new console’s holiday 2020 release window is still very much in place.
  • Recent reports suggested that the PS5’s launch might be delayed because of the coronavirus crisis.
  • Even so, the site doesn’t offer more PS5 information beyond hardware references, so the actual release date and price of the console remain secret.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Sony revealed the PlayStation 5’s specs last week via a pre-recorded keynote that was streamed on YouTube, but the event turned out to be a massive disappointment for fans tuning in to see the PS5’s design and learn more details about the console’s launch. What Sony did was to host an event catered mainly to game developers, without adequately informing viewers about what sort of presentation they’d get. Not only that, but Sony didn’t actually show the console’s design, and it didn’t divulge any release date or pricing information. At the same time, some reports claimed the both the new Xbox and the PS5 might see significant delays because of the coronavirus pandemic. At best, those pundits said, the PlayStation 5 will be available in limited stock this holiday season. Since last week’s PS5 event, Sony quietly updated its PlayStation 5 site, where it subtly reiterated its commitment to a holiday 2020 PS5 launch.

Now is the time to buy Samsung’s Galaxy S20

%name Now is the time to buy Samsung’s Galaxy S20 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Galaxy S20, one of the best flagship Android smartphones of the first half of the year, is already available for a much cheaper price.
  • The unlocked version of the handset costs $799 at Amazon and Best buy, after a $200 price cut.
  • The Galaxy S20+ and the Galaxy S20 Ultra aren’t included in the early sale, however.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Some six weeks ago, I told you you shouldn’t consider buying the Galaxy S20 on launch day. And that’s not because the Galaxy S20 is a bad phone. If anything, it’s one of the best Android handsets of the first half of the year, packing a great design, and massive hardware upgrades, including the 120Hz display, new camera system, and 5G connectivity. It’s because the cheapest Galaxy S20 costs $999, a significant price hike compared to last year’s phones. Unlike the iPhone, Galaxy S phones aren’t known for retaining their value over time. In fact, the price of the latest Galaxy S phones tends to drop soon after launch. We’ve seen it happen time and again, with the Galaxy S10 being a prime example of that. And guess what? The Galaxy S20 series is showing the same signs, as the first massive discounts are already here.

Netflix says it has enough new content to outlast coronavirus for a few months

  • Netflix viewing is way up as millions are stuck at home due to the coronavirus.
  • Netflix’s Ted Sarandos said that Netflix has enough new shows in the pipeline to last for at least a few months.
  • Netflix won’t see a disruption in programming for at least a few months if the coronavirus continues to spread.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The coronavirus has effectively turned Hollywood into a ghost town. Entire productions — from TV shows to movies — are currently on pause as large parts of the country remain on lockdown to prevent the coronavirus from spreading even further.

While the coronavirus has completely disrupted filming on popular programs, with ABC’s popular Bachelor franchise and Netflix’s Stranger Things being two prime examples, Netflix appears better prepared to weather the storm than most. During an appearance on CNN recently, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said that the streaming giant has enough shows already completed such that viewers won’t notice any drop off in the volume of content being made available.

Coronavirus self-isolation tips from an astronaut who spent months in space

  • Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield offers tips for self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Hadfield spent months at a time on the International Space Station, and still managed to be productive despite not being able to operate under his normal routine.
  • His coronavirus self-isolation tips include understanding the risk, figuring out your objective, taking note of your constraints, and then taking action.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

There are thousands of people all over the world fighting for their lives in hospital beds right now after being infected with the new coronavirus, but for a vast majority of us, the most difficult challenge we’ll face in the coming weeks and months is staying away from our friends and family members to stop the spread of COVID-19. “Social distancing” and “self-isolation” probably weren’t terms you ever expected to apply to your daily life, but that’s what this pandemic calls for. And who better to help us through an extended period of isolation than an astronaut.

Over the weekend, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield took to YouTube to offer up some advice on how to cope with self-isolation, which, having spent nearly five consecutive months on the International Space Station, he might be as qualified to give as anyone you will ever meet. Plus, he’s very succinct about it.

With the coronavirus forcing millions of people to stay at home, it’s incredibly easy, if not downright tempting, to revert back to unhealthy lifestyle choices. Especially if you live in a cold area, you can’t really be blamed for watching TV all day and eating a variety of unhealthy foods to help pass the time.

Some people, however, have come up with enterprising ways to remain healthy during this unprecedented worldwide lockdown. Over the past few days alone, I’ve seen push-up challenges sweep across Instagram, along with novel strength training exercises you can do from the comfort of your own living room.
