The $350 cordless vacuum that left Dyson dead to me is down to $199

%name The $350 cordless vacuum that left Dyson dead to me is down to $199 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Dyson is known far and wide for its popular cordless stick vacuums, but there’s another similar vacuum that we like even more.
  • It’s called the Bissell ICONpet cordless vacuum and it retails for $350, which is already hundreds of dollars less than comparable Dyson vacuum cleaners.
  • Despite its already-competitive price, Amazon has slashed the ICONpet to just $199, matching this model’s all-time lowest price.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

I had been a Dyson users for years, and I still think the company makes some of the best and most powerful cordless vacuums on the planet. If you’re married to the Dyson brand, you’ll find a great deal right now on Amazon that slashes $200 off the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal, which is one of the best models the company has ever made. But if you’re willing to try something new, we think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised at how good the competition — and you’ll be even more shocked at how much money you can save.

The Bissell ICONpet cordless vacuum is one of the best cordless vacuum cleaners I’ve ever tested, and I won’t be going back to Dyson anytime soon. This model is quieter and better with pet hair than comparable Dyson models, and it also has better battery life and a smarter design. It’s so easy to empty, but one of my favorite things is the LED lighting on the bottom so you can actually see everything that needs to be vacuumed up. You won’t believe how much you miss without it!

Bissell’s ICONpet cordless stick vacuum is outstanding and it’s worth every penny at $350, but it’s on sale right now for $199. That matches an all-time low price and it’s hundreds less than a comparable Dyson.

BISSELL ICONpet Cordless with Tangle Free Brushroll, SmartSeal Filtration, Lightweight Stick Ha…: $199.00

Here are some key details from Bissell’s website:

BISSELL pet parent engineers designed our ICONpet Cordless Vacuum for homes with pets. When it comes to cleaning up after our furry friends, their hair can get everywhere. That’s why we made this vacuum cordless. It has a 22v lithium-ion battery and a High-Powered Digital Motor, so you get a faster and easier way to vacuum your entire home and car. Forget about that annoying hair wrapping around the brush roll that can happen with other cordless vacs.

ICONpet Cordless Vacuum is equipped with BISSELL’s innovative Tangle-Free Brush Roll, so no hair wrap is left on the brush. It can lay flat while in use, so it cleans under couches and beds. Plus, the remarkably bright LED lights on the foot help you see pet hair and other debris that’s easy to miss in the dark. Unfortunately, not all cordless vacuums can also be used as hand vacs, fortunately for you, ICONpet Cordless can!

It also works as a high-reach hand vacuum. You’re able to clean pet hair, dirt and other debris with the included specialized pet tools. ICONpet Cordless has multi-surface capabilities, meaning it can be used as a hardwood floor cleaner and a carpet or area rug vacuum cleaner.

No matter what kind of surface you decide to vacuum, maintaining this cordless vacuum is easy with features like the Mess Free Empty Dirt Tank with CleanSlide Technology that lets you control debris as you discard it.

Coronavirus vaccine trials begin today

%name Coronavirus vaccine trials begin today by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The first novel coronavirus vaccine tests will begin Monday in Seattle.
  • The vaccine, produced by Moderna Inc, will be given to 45 volunteers in order to determine if it produces harmful side effects.
  • Even if the testing goes well, we still may be at least a year away from a publicly-available vaccine against COVID-19.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Coronavirus vaccine trials are expected to begin on Monday, according to a report from the Associated Press that quotes a US government official. The testing will include dozens of healthy volunteers who will receive the vaccine and then be kept under close observation.

These human trials, which were originally expected to begin this summer before being fast-tracked due to the growing pandemic, are the first step toward a publicly available vaccine. However, even if the trials prove the experimental vaccine is safe and effective, it will still be many months before it can be mass-produced and distributed.

Amazon’s blowing out workout equipment since no one can go to the gym anymore

%name Amazon’s blowing out workout equipment since no one can go to the gym anymore by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The spread of the novel coronavirus continues to impact our lives in a number of ways, and exercise routines are obviously on that list.
  • People across the country are being advised to use social distancing and not to congregate in large groups, which obviously rules out going to the gym to work out.
  • Amazon is hosting a massive one-day sale on top-rated workout equipment from leading brands, but the deal is only available for one day on Monday.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

There have been a ton of COVID-19 coronavirus updates over the weekend, but we’ll try not to get too deep into the doom and gloom of it all. Suffice it to say that things are about to get very bad in the United States because not enough people took the novel coronavirus pandemic seriously. We’re only just starting to see businesses like restaurants and movie theaters begin to close and most experts seem to agree that it’s happening far too late to “flatten the curve,” or spread out the rate of infections so that hospitals and other health care facilities can handle the rate of infections.

Whether or not businesses in your area closed, the smart thing to do at this point is to stay home unless you absolutely must go out. Needless to say, that means not going to the gym to exercise. We’re all going to be spending a lot of time at home in the coming weeks and months, and staying healthy and in shape will obviously be a concern. That’s why Amazon is hosting a huge one-day sale on exercise equipment from a few of the biggest brands out there.

Save 30% on Nautilus, Bowflex, and Schwinn Exercise Equipment: $139.00 – $3,598.99

You’ll find a total of 15 different deals on workout gear from Bowflex, Nautilus, and Schwinn, with cardio, aerobic, and muscle-building workouts all covered. Treadmills start at just $489.99 in the sale and the Bowflex TC100 TreadClimber is down to $1,259.99. You can get an adjustable workout bench for as little as $139 or go all-out and get a Bowflex Home Gym starting at just $489.99. Upright bikes start at $199.99, elliptical trainers start at $489.99, and pretty much everything you could possibly need to get a gym-quality workout at home is included in this sale.

This new iPhone 12 concept is the most stunning phone I’ve ever seen

%name This new iPhone 12 concept is the most stunning phone I’ve ever seen by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s iPhone 12 release date might have been set in stone and one point, but the company’s plans are reportedly up in the air right now.
  • Some reports suggest that Apple still intends to unveil its new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro phones in September, but that they might not be released until sometime in October or even November, depending on how things play out with the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
  • Despite the uncertainty surrounding the next-generation iPhone lineup’s release, there are many things we know about the design and features thanks to leaks from multiple reliable sources.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The biggest news in the world right now is obviously the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic that will continue to spread across the globe for many months to come. It’s already more serious than both SARS and H1N1, and things aren’t going to get better anytime soon. There are obviously far more important concerns than what that might mean for the release of a smartphone, but Apple’s iPhone 12 plans still have an enormous impact on its business, on the businesses of its suppliers and manufacturing partners, and on Apple fans. The iPhone isn’t just a little gadget, it’s actually a very crucial piece of the global economy.

It will be quite some time before we know exactly what Apple’s plans are for the release of its new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro phones. With at least 6 months to go until they’re made official, however, there is a whole lot we do know. Leaks from several reliable sources with good track records have shed plenty of light on Apple’s new iPhone 12 design and on some of the new key features we can expect to see when iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models finally do hit store shelves.

Coronavirus lockdown kit: 5 things you need to avoid going crazy

%name Coronavirus lockdown kit: 5 things you need to avoid going crazy by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is currently spreading across the country in the United States, and things are going to get much worse before they begin to get any better.
  • Businesses are closing, schools are closing, and people are being advised to remain isolated at home with their families as much as possible.
  • There are a few things you can get to help pass the time a bit quicker at home, and we’ve rounded up five key purchases you should consider.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

There’s no end in sight as the novel coronavirus continues to spread across the United States, and now it’s up to every single one of us to do our part. When we have to go out for whatever reason, doing your part means keeping your distance from others, limited social interaction, and thoroughly washing your hands as often as possible. But the most important thing when it comes to doing your part is staying home as much as you can. Remember, it’s not just about preventing yourself from getting sick, it’s about preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus so that the elderly and at-risk don’t get sick.

We’ve already gone over the essentials you need to stock up on while you still can, and that’s important. But there’s another aspect of limiting your time outside that also needs to be considered: what the heck do you do the whole time you’re home? Here, we’ve made a few suggestions that should help keep you and your family busy while you’re doing your duty and staying indoors.

Get a tablet

Everyone is going to be spending a lot of time staring at screens in the coming weeks and months, and it’s always nice to have your own. Watching movies together as a family on the big screen is obviously important, but you’ll spend much more time away from the pack than you will together. Amazon has brand new current-generation 10.2-inch iPads on sale right now starting at $279, and that’s a fantastic deal.

New Apple iPad (10.2-Inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) – Space Gray (Latest Model): $279.00

If you don’t want to spend quite that much, definitely go with a Fire Tablet from Amazon. The most affordable option is the Fire 7 Tablet at just $49.99, the Fire HD 8 is $79.99 or you can get two for $109.98 thanks to a great Amazon deal, and the high-end Fire HD 10 is $129.99.

Fire 7 Tablet (7″ display, 16 GB) – Black: $49.99

Fire HD 8 Tablet (8″ HD Display, 16 GB) – Black: $79.99 or save $50 on two

All-New Fire HD 10 Tablet (10.1″ 1080p full HD display, 32 GB) – Black: $149.99

Get a pair of headphones

It might be fun to blast music in your room or turn the TV up loud, but remember that there are going to be other people in your home trying to do their own thing. A good pair of headphones is a must-have, and there are plenty of solid options on Amazon. All of Apple’s AirPods are discounted right now including AirPods Pro at an all-time low price, and you’ll find a few other good options right here:

Apple AirPods Deals On Amazon: $119.00 – $234.98

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

TOZO T10 Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Earbuds with Wireless Charging Case IPX8 Waterproof TWS Stereo…: $35.99

COWIN E7 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones Bluetooth Headphones with Microphone Deep Bass Wire…: $49.99

Mpow Flame Bluetooth Headphones Sport IPX7 Waterproof Wireless Sport Earbuds, Richer Bass HiFi…: $19.99

Mpow 059 Bluetooth Headphones Over Ear, Hi-Fi Stereo Wireless Headset, Foldable, Soft Memory-Pr…: $26.99

Get some board games

The two recommendations above are all about spending time apart to keep from getting tired of each other, but you’ll obviously also want to spend plenty of time together with your family. There’s no better way to do that than with some fun new board games, and you’ll find plenty of good ones on sale right now on Amazon. Pandemic happens to be the best-seller at the moment for obvious reasons, but there are plenty of other options.

Best-Selling Board Games On Amazon: $7.88+

Get an Instant Pot

If you stocked up on non-perishables like you should have, you probably have tons of canned beans and other stuff to get through. Instead of chocking it down, cook some delicious recipes with a new Instant Pot. The #1 best-selling Instant Pot Duo 60 is on sale for $79 instead of $100, and there are some other good deals on Amazon as well. If you already have an Instant Pot, breathe some new life into it with a huge $60 discount on the new Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid!

Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid with Roast, Bake, Broil, Reheat & Dehydrate: $79.95

Get a streaming media player

If you normally stream movies and TV shows in the family room, you’re going to need to get a few more streaming media players for other rooms in your home. This way, you can watch together as a family or everyone can go do their own thing. The Roku Premiere with 4K resolution and HDR is only $39, the upgraded 2019 Roku Streaming Stick+ is down to its lowest price since Black Friday, and you can get a Fire TV Stick starting at $40.

  • One of Google Maps’ best features has received a new update that will let users access it faster than ever.
  • Announced a few weeks ago, the feature concerns Live View, a Google Maps navigation for walking that uses real-time imagery for the camera to direct users to the desired destination.
  • The new feature is now in testing and can be accessed right from the main screen of Google Maps.

Google Maps has many handy features to enhance your navigation experience, and some of them can be helpful during the current coronavirus crisis. The app will allow business owners to update the information that shows up in Maps as frequently as needed, and it’ll help you order food online to avoid getting out of the house, assuming those restaurants will continue to operate during the weeks ahead. • Apple was just fined 1.1 billion euros by France’s antitrust body for what has been deemed anti-competitive behavior.
  • The fine is related to Apple’s practices within its distribution network.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Like any other massive technology company, Apple has received its share of scrutiny over the years by antitrust bodies claiming the consumer electronics giant engages in anti-competitive behavior. On Monday, Apple was slapped with a massive fine of 1.1 billion euros, or roughly $1.23 billion. The fine comes from France’s L’Autorité de la concurrence, which alleges that Apple engaged in three main anti-competitive practices along with two of its wholesale partners that intentionally prevented competition in the marketplace. “Apple and its two wholesalers have agreed not to compete with each other and to prevent distributors from competing with each other, thereby sterilizing the wholesale market for Apple products,” the French authority said.
