TCL’s ‘rollable’ smartphone with an expanding screen is out of this world

If we’re being perfectly honest, 2020 is shaping up to be a pretty boring year overall as far as smartphone designs go. Apple’s new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro phones are getting a big overhaul that sounds great, but it’s not exactly going to be anything earthshattering. After three iPhone generations with the same design, the iPhone 12 series will replace the current housing with one that has flat metal edges on the sides instead of round ones. That said, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the camera cluster on the back will still look the same and there will still be a big notch on the front, so it doesn’t exactly seem like it’ll end up being all that different from the iPhones we already have.

Where Android smartphones are concerned, things get a little more complicated. There are a few foldable smartphones that have launched recently, and those designs are new and different. That said, they’re not exactly going to win any beauty pageants. There is a fantastic new smartphone design that’s sleek and modern with an all-screen front and curved edges on either side, but there’s a problem with that design too: it’s everywhere. Remember back in 2018 when nearly every single Android phone company stole Apple’s iPhone X design? Well, now they’re all stealing Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S20 design. It’s already getting a bit tiresome, but hey, at least it’s a great design.

Netflix’s first ‘Money Heist’ season 4 trailer is epic

%name Netflix’s first ‘Money Heist’ season 4 trailer is epic by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

There are certain iconic and critically acclaimed shows that everyone has seen, with Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad being just two obvious examples. But there’s one incredible show that, for reasons that still astonish me, a lot of people in the US aren’t even aware of. And that show is Money Heist, or La Casa de Papel as it’s referred to in Spain.

According to Netflix, Money Heist is the most popular non-English language show in Netflix history. And for those who happened to see the first three seasons, the trailer for the forthcoming fourth season just dropped. If you recall, the ending to season 3 ended on quite a cliffhanger with The Professor on the run and the reveal that Raquel is in fact very much alive.

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 that dominated Black Friday at $129 is down to $119 renewed on Amazon

%name The Ring Video Doorbell 2 that dominated Black Friday at $129 is down to $119 renewed on Amazon by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Back during the huge Black Friday blowout ahead of the holidays last year, one of the most popular products we covered was the Ring Video Doorbell 2. That shouldn’t really come as a surprise, of course, since it’s probably the best all-around video doorbell available right now. For $200, you get all the great features you could possibly want, not the least of which is the ability to instantly see who’s at your door whether you’re in your house, in the backyard, across the street, or even across the country. You also get Alexa support and integration with other Amazon devices. For example, you can configure your Ring Video Doorbell 2 to instantly show you who’s at the door on your Echo Show 5.

It’s a terrific device that’s worth every penny at $200, but on Black Friday and for the week that followed, it was down to just $129. See, it’s no wonder why it flew off the shelves. If you missed the chance to buy one back then though, we have some great news: Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell 2 models are back in stock on Amazon and you can snag one right now for just $119!

Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell 2: $119.00

If you’re not familiar with how Amazon’s Certified Refurbished program works, we can definitely shed some light on it for you. Basically, these products are guaranteed to look and function like new. You get the same return policy as you would with a brand new device, and even more importantly, you get the same warranty! There’s really nothing stopping you from taking advantage of this killer deal unless you had your eye on another Ring doorbell model, in which case there are a few other deals you should definitely check out.

The entry-level Ring Video Doorbell is just like the Ring 2, but it supports 720p resolution instead of 1080p Full HD. If you’re fine with that, then Amazon has a great deal right now on a brand new Ring Video Doorbell bundled with a Ring Chime for just $109.98. The doorbell on its own is typically $100 and the Ring Chime that lets the Ring doorbell sound an audible chime like a traditional doorbell sells for $30. That’s $130 total, so this is definitely a solid deal.

Ring Video Doorbell (Satin Nickel) with Ring Chime: $109.98

You can also get a Certified Refurbished Video Doorbell for just $89.99 if you don’t care about the Ring Chime, and the top-of-the-line Ring Video Doorbell Pro that normally sells for $250 is down to $179 if you pick up a Certified Refurbished model while they’re in stock.

We’re still waiting for Sony to answer Microsoft’s surprising Xbox Series X announcements with a few exciting PlayStation 5 revelations of its own, but we’re yet to hear any sort of official news. Sony last spoke about the PS5 in an official capacity at CES 2020 in early January. At the time, the company recapped all the PS5 specs it unveiled last year, revealed the PS5 logo, and teased that the most significant PS5 features hadn’t yet been announced or even rumored. Weeks before that, Microsoft actually showed the finished Xbox Series X design during a gaming show, which is also where the company revealed the Series X name. Then, a few days ago, Microsoft confirmed almost all the official specs of the new Xbox Series X console in a blog post. The coronavirus may have ruined Sony’s PS5 launch plans, but we’ll never really know. Sony never got to announcing a PlayStation Meeting event, and we might not get one considering the current state of the epidemic. But Sony has to unveil the new console sooner rather than later, even if it does so via an online press event. In the meantime while we wait, we might as well get back to enjoying some gorgeous PS5 concepts.

Amazon’s big Sony headphones sale has prices starting at $78 – plus $32 off AirPods Pro killers

%name Amazon’s big Sony headphones sale has prices starting at $78 – plus $32 off AirPods Pro killers by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When it comes to deals on headphones, there’s no question that the biggest news today is Amazon’s sale that slashes Apple AirPods Pro back down to Black Friday’s all-time low price. Shipping estimates are already starting to slip, but you can still order them at a discount today to lock in the deal and they’ll undoubtedly ship sooner than you think. In fact, even when they’ve been listed as shipping in 1-2 months or “out of stock” in the past, dozens of our readers have confirmed that orders still were delivered within a week or two. Long story short, if you want AirPods Pro you should definitely go grab a pair now because you won’t find a better deal.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

Apple’s wireless noise cancelling earbuds are great, but they’re certainly not the only game in town — especially when it comes to great deals. In fact, Amazon is running a big sale right now that slashes several different pairs of Sony headphones and earphones down to their lowest prices of the year.

Since we mentioned AirPods Pro earlier, let’s start with Sony’s own ANC earphones that most people agree are better than AirPods Pro in every way. The Sony WF1000XM3 Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds are class leaders in every important area, from sound quality and comfort to noise cancellation. They offer up to 24 hours of battery life including the extra charges you get from the included carrying case, and when they’re running low you can add 90 minutes of playback by charging them in the case for just 10 minutes.

These killer earphones normally sell for $230, which is already less than Apple charges for AirPods Pro. Today, they’re on sale at Black Friday’s discounted price of just $198.

Sony WF-1000XM3 Industry Leading Noise Canceling Truly Wireless Earbuds with Alexa voice contro…: $198.00

In addition to those excellent earphones, there are three deals on popular Sony over-ear headphones that you should definitely check out on Thursday.

If you’re not worried about noise cancellation, the Sony WHXB700/B Wireless Extra Bass Bluetooth Headphones offer great audio quality, thumping bass, long 30-hour battery life, and a reasonable $130 price tag. Pick up a pair today on Amazon, however, and you’ll only pay $78. If you do want noise cancelling, then we have two more options for you to consider.

The mid-range Sony WHXB900N Wireless Noise Cancelling Extra Bass Headphones that retail for $250 are down to $178 today, and the Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones that are widely believed to be the best ANC headphones in the world are on sale for just $278 instead of $350. That’s already a killer deal that matches the price from Black Friday, but don’t buy them on their own. There’s a separate listing on Amazon that most people don’t know about, and it gets you the WH1000XM3 headphones bundled with a Sony 20,000 mAh portable charger. Right now, it’s on sale for the same price — just $278!

Apple’s iPhone 9 is reportedly delayed due to coronavirus

%name Apple’s iPhone 9 is reportedly delayed due to coronavirus by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

There’s no question whatsoever that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 series is the most hotly anticipated launch of 2020. We’re still six months away from Apple making the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models official and yet there are already rumors flying left and right. According to leaks from the world’s most accurate Apple insider, we can expect a huge design overhaul that ditches the round edges Apple has been using since 2014 and replaces them with flat metal edges like the old iPhone 5 design we all adored. The notch will still be there for Face ID, but we can still expect improved displays with a higher refresh rate to make iOS even smoother on the iPhone 12 series. Big camera upgrades are reportedly in the works as well, and we should see another big first from Apple: according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will release four different iPhone models at the same time. The insider claims Apple will release a 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 with dual-lens rear cameras along with a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro that have triple-lens rear cameras plus a ToF sensor.

Needless to say, this is exciting news for all Apple fans and especially the most enthusiastic ones who upgrade to a new iPhone each year and have therefore been through three different iPhone models with the same design. But there’s also a fifth new iPhone that’s set to be released this year, and it could end up being one of Apple’s most popular iPhone models ever. We’re talking about the iPhone 9 that’s set to be unveiled at the end of March, but we may have some bad news: A new report claims that the phone’s release may have been delayed.

%name Samsung’s 2020 QLED TV lineup includes a stunning 8K model with no bezels by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung has become quite adept at mass-producing the most gorgeous TVs that you can either barely afford or that would bust your budget entirely, and the company’s newly unveiled line of 2020 QLED 4K and 8K TV models certainly continue in that vein. They promise everything from industry-leading picture quality to design that Samsung touts as “breathtaking” – not to mention the TVs sporting new processors that push the limits of picture resolution. One of the 8K models, in fact, even includes Samsung’s so-called “infinity screen” which virtually eliminates bezels.

If you’re in the market for a new portable Bluetooth speaker and you want to spend the least possible amount of money, there’s a huge one-day blowout on Amazon today that covers speakers from a brand called DOSS. It’s not exactly the first name that comes to mind when you think about speakers, but take a look at models like the DOSS SoundBox Bluetooth Speaker (on sale for $19.97) or the DOSS SoundBox XL 32W Bluetooth Speaker (on sale for $44.98) and you’ll find thousands upon thousands of 5-star reviews that mention things like great sound quality and long battery life. You’ll find plenty of great options in that big sale, but there’s another set of deals you might want to check out if you’re willing to spend a little bit more.

Remember how we said DOSS probably isn’t the first brand that comes to mind when you think about speakers? Well, the first name that does come to mind is most likely Bose, and Amazon is running a big sale right now that you might not know about. It offers all-time low prices on a number of different portable wireless speakers from Bose, and prices that are close to all-time lows on other models.

Starting with the Bose SoundLink Micro Portable Waterproof Wireless Speaker, this $100 model is down to just $79 right now. It’s the most compact Bluetooth speaker that Bose makes, but it still manages to deliver surprisingly big sound and decent battery life of up to 6 hours of continuous play, which is more than enough to get you through a full day at the pool.

Bose SoundLink Micro, Portable Outdoor Speaker, (Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity), Black: $79.00

Next up, we have the Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth Speaker II, which is $30 off in four different colorways. This model is a step up from the SoundLink Micro and it delivers even better sound quality plus an extra 2 hours of battery life.

The next rung on the ladder covers both speakers in Bose’s awesome Revolve lineup, which have even better sound quality plus 360-degree sound projection. The Bose SoundLink Revolve is down to $159 from $199, and the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ is $60 off at $239. The former offers 12 hours of battery life while the latter ups that to 16 hours. Both models are IPX4 water-resistant, and both models support Bose SimpleSync so you can link two speakers to create a stereo pair.
