Amazon’s Kindles are down to all-time low prices, plus save $48 on Kindle Unlimited

%name Amazon’s Kindles are down to all time low prices, plus save $48 on Kindle Unlimited by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Whether or not you’re an Amazon Prime member, the company’s fantastic Kindle Unlimited service costs $9.99 a month. There’s really no question that it’s worth every penny and more, considering what you get for your money.

Kindle Unlimited subscribers get unlimited access to thousands of audiobooks through Audible as well as more than 1 million Kindle books, and you can access it all on any Kindle as well as any device that supports Amazon’s Kindle app. From iPhones and iPads to computers and just about every Android device you can think of, if it has a screen, it probably has a Kindle app.

Whether you read one book a month or 100, Kindle Unlimited is a terrific value at $9.99 per month. That said, BGR Deals readers never pay full price. Amazon is running a special limited-time offer right now that stands to save you a ton of money when you pay for more than a month. You know how Disney+ is $6.99 if you pay monthly but only $69.99 if you pay for a full year? This is the same idea.

Using the monthly plan, 6 months of Kindle Unlimited would normally cost you about $60. With this deal, you get 6 months for $56.94. Of course, you stand to save much more if you get a year or two. 1 year of Kindle Unlimited costs $107.89 instead of just under $120, and 2 years is $191.81, which is a savings of almost $50!

Save Up To $48 On Kindle Unlimited: $56.94 – $191.81

Forget the iPhone 12, people are obsessed with this insane ‘iPhone 12 Flip’ video

%name Forget the iPhone 12, people are obsessed with this insane ‘iPhone 12 Flip’ video by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung just released the Galaxy Z Flip, and the three new phones that make up the company’s flagship Galaxy S20 lineup will hit store shelves on Friday in the United States and several other key markets. OnePlus is preparing to launch three new “flagship killers” in its OnePlus 8 smartphone series. Huawei’s upcoming P40 Pro will be unveiled at the end of the month, Xiaomi just started showing off a new smartphone with the most insane design we’ve ever seen, photos of Google’s new Pixel 4a just leaked for the first time, and then there’s the Galaxy Note 20 lineup Samsung will release later this year, perhaps alongside another foldable smartphone. And then there’s the iPhone 12 series that’s set to be released in September. Experts believe the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are going to be so popular that they might even set a new all-time sales record, crushing every rival smartphone in the process. That would be quite a feat, especially in light of the deadly coronavirus outbreak that industry watchers believe will continue to impact smartphone production for months to come, if not longer.

There are so many exciting new smartphones set to be released over the course of the year in 2020. Real smartphones that people will actually be able to buy. And yet everywhere I look, people can’t stop talking about another device that recently popped up in a video on Instagram. It’s a render of an imaginary handset called the “iPhone 12 Flip,” and everyone is obsessed with it. Nothing even remotely like the iPhone 12 Flip will be released this year or even in the next 5 to 10 years, so it might seem silly that people are so excited about it. That said, this impossibly sleek and slim concept phone is so stunning that it’s worth revisiting.

New cordless Dyson killer with smartphone integration and a touchscreen falls to its best price

%name New cordless Dyson killer with smartphone integration and a touchscreen falls to its best price by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

I had been a Dyson cordless vacuum user for so long that for a while, I convinced myself that no other cordless vacuums out there could possibly be as good. Part of my job is to test new products though, and so many new cordless stick vacuums have been popping up to challenge Dyson in recent years. It took a while, but I recently found a Dyson challenger that I actually like much more than my Dyson, and I’ve told you about it a few times. It’s called the Bissell ICONpet Cordless Vacuum and it happens to be close to an all-time low of just $199 right now.

BISSELL ICONpet Cordless with Tangle Free Brushroll, SmartSeal Filtration, Lightweight Stick Ha…: $199.00

That’s a crazy price for a $350 vacuum that tackles pet hair like it’s nothing and a fantastic design that I love. If your budget is a bit higher, however, I just came across a brand new cordless vacuum that I like even more than the ICONpet. It’s called the Tineco Pure ONE S12 Plus Cordless Stick Smart Vacuum Cleaner, and I’ve never seen anything like it.

One of my only issues with the Bissell model is that it’s not quite as powerful as Dyson’s newer cordless vacuums. It’s plenty strong enough to get the job done, but you might need an extra pass here and there. Tineco’s new Pure ONE S12 Plus is an entirely different story. It’s lighter than the Bissell model and it has better battery life than the Bissell model, and yet it’s just as powerful as even the newest Dyson stick vacuums.

As far as unique features go, you’ll find no shortage of them on this awesome new vacuum. There’s a big LCD display that shows things like power level, remaining battery life, the current cleaning mode, and Wi-Fi status. That’s right, I said Wi-Fi status. The Pure ONE S12 Plus cordless vacuum actually connects to your wireless network and communicates with an app on your iPhone or Android smartphone! The app monitors performance in real-time, tracks your cleaning sessions and even reminds you when it’s time to vacuum again. And as for on-device controls, there’s even a capacitive touchscreen that lets you adjust the vacuum’s power with a tap or swipe.

It’s the most feature-rich cordless vacuum I’ve ever tested, it’s just as powerful as a Dyson, and it even has LED lighting on the brush head so you can see all the dirt and dust you would’ve missed with a Dyson. There’s also an $80 coupon right now on Amazon that drops it to its lowest price yet, so now is a terrific time to check it out.

Tineco Pure ONE S12 Plus Cordless Stick Smart Vacuum Cleaner, Optimized Ultra Powerful Suction…: $569.99

Here are some more killer features from the Amazon page:

  • Features iLoop(TM) Smart Sensor Technology that senses hidden dirt and debris, automatically adjusts suction power in real-time and extends runtime up to 100 minutes for complete cleaning confidence
  • Ultra high-performance 500W motor provides up to 6X more powerful suction for super multi-surface cleaning power
  • S12 PLUS model includes LED Hard Floor Soft-Roller Power Brush, ideal for wood, tile, and other hard floor surfaces.
  • Easily converts to a handheld vacuum with versatile attachments to reach corners, stairs, and crevices
  • PURE ONE S12 includes: LED Multi-tasker Power Brush, Mini Power Brush, (2) Pre-Filters, Automatic Pre-Filter Cleaning Tool, 2-in-1 Dusting Brush, Soft Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool, Flexible Long Crevice Tool, Dual Charging Wall-Mounted Dock — PLUS an LED Hard Floor Soft-Roller Power Brush, Flexible Extension Hose, and Multi-Angle Folding Adapter

AirPods Pro are back to Black Friday’s all-time low price on Amazon

%name AirPods Pro are back to Black Friday’s all time low price on Amazon by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple products are awesome, but everything people say about the “Apple Tax” is true. If you want the best, you better be prepared to pay. That said, buying from one of Apple’s official retail partners instead of directly from Apple is never a bad idea. For example, you’ll pay $159 if you walk into an Apple store right now and buy the company’s popular AirPods 2 true wireless earbuds. If you get them on Amazon instead, you’ll only pay $139.

Before you pull the trigger on that great deal though, there are two other deals that you really should consider.

First and foremost, Apple’s wildly popular AirPods Pro are back in stock on Amazon after having sold out earlier this week. What’s more, they’re back down to Black Friday’s all-time low price! It’s nuts that Amazon continues to offer deep discounts on Apple’s beloved wireless noise cancelling earphones, especially considering the fact that no other retailer is discounting them right now. These are by far the best headphones Apple has ever made, offering great sound quality and impressive noise cancellation in a form factor that everyone loves.

If you don’t already own a pair of AirPods Pro, now is definitely the time to get them — they’re currently in stock and shipping immediately, but that will definitely change soon. Just remember that once shipping estimates start to slip, you should still order them to lock in the discount. Even when they’re listed as “out of stock,” our readers report that they still ship within a week or two.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

If you don’t want to spend quite that much cash on earphones and you don’t need ANC, there’s one last deal you should check out. You know the AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case that typically cost $199? If you hurry over to Amazon right now, you can pick up a pair renewed for just $119. That’s a massive $80 discount compared to buying them new, and it’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen.

While these are indeed renewed AirPods 2, they’re guaranteed to “work and look like new.” That’s an Amazon guarantee mind you, not a guarantee from a third-party seller. If for any reason you’re not happy with your purchase, you have a full 90 days to return it for an Amazon credit or a full refund. It might not come in its original packaging, but all renewed AirPods 2 models have been thoroughly inspected by suppliers that have been vetted by Amazon. And with that 90-day guarantee, you’ve got nothing to lose and $80 to gain.

Apple AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case – White (Renewed): $119.65

Big iPhone 12 leak reveals a huge camera upgrade and more key specs

%name Big iPhone 12 leak reveals a huge camera upgrade and more key specs by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The iPhone 12 is on track to launch in September, and we’ve already heard a few details about it. The handset will feature Apple’s biggest iPhone redesign since the iPhone X, but it’ll retain the Face ID notch on the front. Also new is the 5G support, which is coming to all three iPhone 12 flavors this year. A brand new leak gives us even more details about one of the highly anticipated iPhone upgrades planned for this year’s model, the camera. Apparently, Apple is ready to significantly increase the megapixel count on its primary rear-facing camera, just like Samsung did with the Galaxy S20 series. More interestingly, night mode support is supposedly coming to all rear cameras.

Galaxy S20 Ultra teardown reveals all the phone’s hidden camera secrets

%name Galaxy S20 Ultra teardown reveals all the phone’s hidden camera secrets by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Galaxy S20 Ultra is the most formidable Galaxy S phone ever made, there’s no doubt about it. It’s got top of the line specs, featuring the latest Snapdragon 865 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. Add a 5,000 mAh battery to that, a 120Hz screen, and 5G connectivity, and you end up with one of the best Android phones you could dream of. And that’s without the monster camera of the back that features a monster 108-megapixel camera as well as a lens system capable of 100x zoom. But you probably knew all of that. Just as you knew you’ll have to shell out at least $1,399 for the cheapest version, which ships with 12GB of memory and 128GB of flash memory onboard. What you didn’t know is how Samsung managed to pack all of that tech into a rather slim device. But that’s what teardowns are for, and iFixit just stripped the S20 Ultra off its secrets.

Pesticides are messing with the brains of baby bees

%name Pesticides are messing with the brains of baby bees by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In case you hadn’t already heard: Bee populations are being devastated on a global scale due to the use of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals. This is bad news for a variety of reasons, but at the top of the list is the fact that many bees are vital pollinators that allow plants to reproduce. Dramatic downward shifts in the number of such insects can have a devastating effect on the environment, affecting everyone above them, including humans.

Chemicals designed to kill insects are obviously not good for bees in general, but a new study suggests that the effects of pesticides on the declining bumblebee population go beyond simply killing full-grown adult bees.
