One of the best robot vacuums we’re ever tested is down to $159.99 right now

%name One of the best robot vacuums we’re ever tested is down to $159.99 right now by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We’ve tested dozens of robot vacuums over the years, and we have a shortlist of favorites that we recommend more than any other models. At the very top of the list is the iRobot Roomba i7+ Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal, a top-of-the-line robot vacuum with performance and features that are unmatched. This high-end Roomba picks up dirt, dust, and pet hair like it’s nothing thanks to a great brush design and 10 times stronger suction than entry-level Roomba models.

That’s all great, but the best thing about the Roomba i7+ is what happens when its internal dirt bin is full. When that happens on most robot vacuums, they stop working until you manually empty them so they have space to suck up more dirt. But that’s not what happens with this awesome Roomba. Instead, it makes its way back to a special charging station with a built-in mechanism that allows the i7+ to empty itself. How crazy is that?! This model can run for months without you even having to think about it. It’s awesome, but it’s also wildly expensive with a retail price of $1,000.

iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal-Empties Itself, Wi-Fi Connec…: $799.00

The Roomba i7+ is on sale right now on Amazon for $799, which is a huge discount and a terrific value. It’s also still way too expensive for most people. Luckily, Amazon is running another deal right now on a different robot vacuum cleaner that’s near the top of our list of favorites, and it’s far more affordable than the i7+. In fact, you can literally by five of them for the price of one Roomba i7+… even while the Roomba model is on sale!

Anker’s smart home brand eufy has been among the best in the business for a long time when it comes to robot vacuums. The company offers a bunch of different models that are all a great value, but there’s one in particular that we really love: the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S Robot Vacuum Cleaner. It’s nice and compact but it still has a nice big dirt bin, and it’s delightfully quiet despite strong 1300Pa suction. Battery life is solid, it works on low-pile carpet as well as hard flooring, and it even supports Alexa so you can use voice commands to control it. It has about 9,000 5-star ratings on Amazon and if you grab one now while it’s on sale with a deep discount, you’ll only pay $159.99.

PS5 leak might reveal the exact time Sony will announce its big PlayStation 5 event

Microsoft revealed almost everything there is to know about the Xbox Series X earlier this week, although crucial details like SSD capacity, price, and the release date were left out of the surprise announcement. We’ve since told you that Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X announcement is putting pressure on Sony, which hasn’t revealed anything exciting about the PlayStation 5 since October when it announced some of the DualShock 5 controller’s new features. We’re now nearing the end of February, a month that should have brought us the PlayStation Meeting 2020 event, according to some reports. It was at a similar event seven years ago that Sony unveiled the PS4. But then the coronavirus happened, and Sony pulled out of several big tech events like MWC, but also two upcoming gaming shows. Don’t worry though, PlayStation 5 fans, because the wait might soon be over. A new potential leak may have just revealed the exact day and time Sony will announce its big PS5 press conference.

Leaked iPhone 12 feature could be linked to Apple’s most revolutionary new product in years

%name Leaked iPhone 12 feature could be linked to Apple’s most revolutionary new product in years by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Earlier this week, a huge leak from a source that has often proven reliable in the past seemingly revealed a next-generation feature that Apple is preparing to introduce on the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. If accurate, it’ll mark the first time this feature has ever appeared in any smartphone. What’s this nifty new tech that has people so excited? It’s a new wireless standard called 802.11ay.

Now, at first glance, it might seem odd that people are getting worked up over the potential inclusion of new Wi-Fi tech in Apple’s next iPhone. What’s even more ironic is the fact that this new technology won’t even do anything to improve data speeds when the iPhone 12 is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Instead, 802.11ay is a new technology that uses the 60GHz frequency band to move data over short distances at blazing-fast speeds that potentially reach beyond 100Gbps. It doesn’t work well at long distances though, and it can’t even penetrate walls effectively. It might seem odd that Apple would add such a limited technology to its upcoming new iPhone 12 lineup, but it’s only odd until you think about what it could mean for AirDrop. Apple’s current close-range data transfer tech is fast and convenient, but it’s also inconsistent and it often takes a while before you can even establish a connection. 802.11ay could change all that if earlier reports are accurate, but a new report suggests that the tech could be tied to another new Apple device that could be the company’s most revolutionary new product in years.

Roku Stick+ vs. Fire TV Stick 4K deals: Both are down to the lowest prices of 2020

%name Roku Stick+ vs. Fire TV Stick 4K deals: Both are down to the lowest prices of 2020 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We’re not sure who decided that today was going to be a holiday for streaming media devices, but we would love to shake his or her hand. The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter why there are so many killer deals out there today on best-selling streaming media players. All that matters is that you can save a bundle right now on not one, not two or even three, but four of the most popular streaming devices money can buy, but only if you hurry.

If you’re looking for access to every last one of their favorite streaming services — including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Apple TV+, HBO Go, Showtime, Anytime, and all the rest — you know that the two best choices out there are Roku devices and Fire TV devices. Right now, you can save a ton of money on both. If you want premium features like 4K resolution and HDR support, you’ll want to check out the Roku Streaming Stick+ and the Fire TV Stick 4K. Roku’s 4K dongle regularly sells for $60 and it’s down to just $39 today, and the $50 Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for just $34.99. Of note, that $39 price tag on the Roku model is even lower than it was on Black Friday!

Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, includes the Ale…: $34.99

If you’d rather save some more money than get a gadget with compatibility with 4K resolution and HDR, there are two more deals you should check out. If Roku’s software is your preference, the Roku Express HD is available at the everyday low price of $29. At that price, it’s probably the best value out there on any given day of the week. Meanwhile, the Fire TV Stick that is Amazon’s best-selling media streamer ever is on sale today for $24.99 instead of $40, making it the least expensive option out there right now.

Roku Express HD Streaming Media Player 2019: $29.00

Fire TV Stick streaming media player with Alexa built in, includes Alexa Voice Remote, HD, easy…: $24.99

Regardless of which device you end up choosing, you can rest assured that you’re getting one of the best-selling streaming media players on the market right now at the lowest price of 2020. As one final piece of unsolicited advice though, you should consider futureproofing your purchase and opting for one of the models that support 4K and HDR. They’re both on sale at the lowest prices we’re going to see for quite some time and this way, you can be sure you’ll use if for years to come even if you upgrade your TV.

What to watch on Netflix and TV: 10 shows everyone’s binge-watching right now

%name What to watch on Netflix and TV: 10 shows everyone’s binge watching right now by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

How many streaming services do you subscribe to right now? Netflix is obviously at the top of the list, and Disney+ has become a must-have for many people as well. After all, it’s hard to say no to all that excellent content for just $6.99 each month, or even less than that if you pay annually. Amazon Prime Video is something tens of millions of people also subscribe to, often without even realizing it. If you have Amazon Prime, you have Amazon Prime Video. That’s right, it’s included with every single Prime membership in the US, and there are probably a bunch of other perks you didn’t realize you had. If this is news to you, you can check them all out on this page. Then stop whatever you’re doing and go stream the Amazon original show The Boys immediately. It’s incredible.

The crazy thing is that all those services are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s Hulu, YouTube TV, DC Universe, Apple TV+, and many others, plus you can subscribe to all the premium cable channels’ streaming services like HBO Now if you don’t already have them in your pay TV package. Then there are new services coming right around the corner, including Peacock and HBO Max. There’s no end in sight, which means the content you should be watching is just going to keep piling up. Feeling overwhelmed yet? Don’t worry, we’re going to help you figure out exactly what you should be watching next.

Hurry: AirPods are back down to the lowest price ever on Amazon (or get rival buds for $25)

%name Hurry: AirPods are back down to the lowest price ever on Amazon (or get rival buds for $25) by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple’s various AirPods models are the best-selling true wireless earbuds in the world right now, which is why we keep a very close watch on prices at various retailers. We know our readers buy AirPods all the time, so we want to make sure you all spend as little money as possible when you do. That’s why we were bummed earlier this week when retailers ended their deals that dropped Apple’s AirPods 2 down to the $129 range, which matches all-time low pricing from Black Friday last year.

If you walk into any Apple store in the country on Wednesday and buy second-generation AirPods, you’re going to pay $159. If you walk into Best Buy or a few other big-box electronics retailers, you can snag them for $139.99. But if you pick up AirPods 2 right now on Amazon, you’ll only pay $129.98 and you’ll get free Prime shipping as well!

Apple AirPods with Charging Case (Latest Model): $139.00

If you’re looking for an upgrade, you’ll also find that AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case are discounted today. Amazon is offering them for $169 right now, which matches the discount you’ll find at other retailers like Walmart and Target. Also of note, AirPods Pro are back in stock for the first time in over a month, and they’re shipping immediately with free Prime shipping. They’re not discounted right now, but it’s still worth mentioning because they’re wildly popular and this is the first time in a long time that they’ve been listed as in stock on Amazon with no shipping delay whatsoever.

Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case (Latest Model): $169.00

Apple AirPods Pro: $249.00

Those are all great headphones at great prices, but they’re also all still pretty pricey even with Amazon’s discounts. If you’re looking for similar true wireless earbuds with great sound and battery life for far less money, we’ve got two deals that you need to check out.

First, the SoundPEATS TrueCapsule Wireless Earbuds that our readers go nuts for are down to a new lowest price ever. They retail for $36, which is already a steal, but an on-site discount and the coupon code 8PK6E688 slash that price all the way down to just $24.64. You’ll never find cord-free earphones that sound as good as these and that also have touch control for just $25.

Last but not least, we have another deal on SoundPEATS earbuds at a new all-time low price. Clip the 10% coupon on the product page and use the coupon code 9PG5KTQO at checkout, and you can pick up a pair of SoundPEATS TrueAir Wireless Earbuds for just $29.19 instead of $40. They basically look like a bigger version of Apple’s AirPods, but they have better battery life and they cost $100 less.

A closer look at Apple’s stunning leaked iPhone 12 design

%name A closer look at Apple’s stunning leaked iPhone 12 design by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Does Apple’s iPhone 12 design really matter? As a hardware company first and foremost, Apple has built a reputation for designing some of the most iconic and visually stunning devices ever. From the iMac and MacBook laptops to iPhones, iPads, and the Apple Watch, the company has yet to meet its match. There’s no question that Apple’s designs continue to add to the appeal of its various product lines, but we’re seeing an increasing amount of evidence that the look of the company’s iPhones isn’t as big a factor as many people believe it to be. Remember how upset many diehard Apple fans were when Apple moved from refreshing the iPhone’s design every two years to every three years? Apple fans made it seem like the world was coming to an end back in 2016 when Apple released the iPhone 7 series that looked just like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6, and yet sales continued to soar. More recently, we saw plenty of complaints about the iPhone 11 series, which looks just like last year’s iPhone XR/XS and the iPhone X from 2017. Lo and behold, Apple set a quarterly sales record in the December quarter on the back of incredibly strong iPhone 11 sales. If not for the coronavirus outbreak, the company might have continued setting records.

It is indeed becoming crystal clear that typical consumers don’t put quite as much emphasis on an iPhone’s design as hardcore Apple fans do, and that makes sense. While avid tech enthusiasts tend to upgrade to a new iPhone model every year, typical consumers are holding onto their smartphones longer than ever. Who cares if the iPhone looks the same for three years if you keep your iPhone for four years or even five? Still, 2020 is exciting because Apple will finally give the iPhone its first major design overhaul since 2017, including the first new case shape since even further back in 2014. Now, it’s time to take a closer look at the leaked iPhone 12 design that has Apple fans buzzing.

The crazy wireless ‘snake camera’ that lets your smartphone see anywhere is down to $29

The Depstech WF010 Wireless Borescope Snake Camera is the sort of thing that you’ve probably never heard of before. Once you get one though and you see how incredibly useful it can be in so many different situations, you won’t be able to imagine ever being without one again.

In a nutshell, this little gadget has three main components. First, there’s a small box that houses a battery and circuitry, as well as a Wi-Fi radio. Next comes the 11.5-foot-long “snake” part of the device, which is a semi-rigid tube that can be extended and shaped however you want. Finally, there’s a camera on the end of the tube that captures live video as you snake the device into anything and everything you want.

DEPSTECH Wireless Endoscope, IP67 Waterproof WiFi Borescope Inspection 2.0 Megapixels HD Snake…: $28.79

There are so many great uses for this device that it’s difficult to know where to begin, so let’s first cover exactly what it does. The WF010 connects wirelessly to your iPhone, iPad, or Android device and turns it into a remote viewfinder and controller. You can see exactly what the camera sees as you snake it into something, and you can also use the phone to record video or capture still photos.

Here’s a quick blurb from a 5-star review on Amazon that explains one of the countless use cases for it:

I had a water leak in my wall. I didn’t know where it was and the Endoscope enabled me to find it by drilling 1/2 inch holes in the wall. I was amazed when I found the water pipe with the hole in it (see image). Hiring a plumber could have cost me over $500, but I was able to isolate the problem and fix the leak for less than $100 (including the cost of the scope).

It’s waterproof, by the way, so that reviewer didn’t have to worry about getting the borescope wet. Here’s another Amazon review:

Worked perfectly to help me get a gas can protector cap out of my tractor gas tank. Handled a half hour deep in diesel gas, no problems!

That second one is of particular interest because it touches upon something else you can do with this Depstech borescope. It comes with a few attachments that clip to the end and add all sorts of functionality. Once cool one is a mirror that lets you see around corners as you work the camera into a tight space. Then there’s a hook attachment that lets you fish things like keys and jewelry out of places you might otherwise never reach. That’s the attachment the reviewer above used to retrieve the cap from his gas can.

There’s a reason the Depstech WF010 Wireless Borescope Snake Camera is one of the most popular smartphone accessories we’ve ever covered: it’s awesome. It’s also on sale right now at its lowest price of the year right now if you clip the 20% coupon on the Amazon page — just $28.79. Definitely pick one up while it’s on sale at a deep discount and email us to let us know how you used it. Maybe we’ll feature your story next time it goes on sale!

Apple’s newest MacBook Air is down to its lowest price on Amazon, today only

%name Apple’s newest MacBook Air is down to its lowest price on Amazon, today only by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We can still recall the exact moment that Steve Jobs pulled the first-generation MacBook Air out of that manila envelope on stage during his Macworld keynote presentation back in 2008. People couldn’t believe it. This sleek new Apple laptop was impossibly slim, and that gorgeous silver aluminum made everything else on the market look boring and cheap. It was a sight to behold, and it would end up reshaping the entire laptop market and spawning a new category of ultra-slim laptops.

In order to get the MacBook Air that slim back then, Apple had to make several big compromises where performance is concerned. Of course, we have come a very long way over the past 12 years and Apple doesn’t have to sacrifice performance anymore to get its MacBook Air laptops so thin. Take the current-generation model, for example.

The newest MacBook Air packs a dual-core 8th-Generation Intel Core i5 processor, Intel UHD Graphics 617, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of lightning-fast SSD storage, Touch ID security, two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, stereo speakers, and Apple’s stunning signature Retina display with True Tone. Best of all, perhaps, is the fact that the MacBook Air costs so much less now than it did back in 2008 when you had to spend nearly $3,000 to get a build with an SSD! That’s especially true today because Amazon is running a killer one-day deal on the newest MacBook Air with 256GB of SSD storage. You’ll pay $1,299 for this build in an Apple store, but it’s only $999 right now on Amazon — that’s a new all-time low!

New Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, 8GB RAM, 256GB Storage) – Silver: $999.00

That’s an absolute steal for this fantastic laptop, and it’s a huge $300 discount compared to what you’d pay elsewhere. But there’s one more deal you need to know about as well. If you don’t need quite that much power and performance, you can pick up the previous-generation MacBook Air right now on Amazon for even less. The model with a 1.8 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 6000, 128GB of SSD storage, and 8GB of RAM still sells for $999, but Amazon’s offering a $249 discount today so you can pick one up for only $749.99.

Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD Storage) – Silver: $749.99

You really can’t go wrong with either one of these excellent deals. The $300 discount on the newest MacBook Air model is obviously the more rare deal, and we seriously doubt we’ll see it priced this low again anytime soon. The previous-generation model is still powerful and nearly $250 less though, so buyers on a budget should definitely consider it.
