Every once in a while, Netflix loses a bunch of blockbuster movies all at once, and that is, unfortunately, the case for the month of March. The biggest blow has to be the loss of Black Panther, which is finally joining the vast majority of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies on Disney+ next month. Slowly but surely, Disney is completing its full collection of Marvel movies (but it’s going to be a bit before Infinity War joins the party).

Two other major losses are that of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. As most of you know, these are two of the best fantasy epics in movie history, and seeing the entire trilogy taken off of Netflix is a bummer. Return of the King was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won all of them, including Best Picture, making it the first fantasy movie to win the most coveted award in film.

The Nintendo Switch has been nothing short of a smash hit for Nintendo, with cumulative sales that have already topped the SNES and climbed north of 52 million units. Unlike the Wii U that was an absolute flop for Nintendo, the Switch doesn’t try to recapture the magic of the original Nintendo Wii. Instead, it creates its own unique magic thanks to a convertible design that allows gamers to “switch” between using a portable console and a home console. Of course, mobile is the way of the world these days, so what happens for gamers who never plan to connect the Switch to a TV?

That’s exactly why Nintendo came up with the Switch Lite, a stripped-down version of the Switch that eliminates the convertible aspect and slashes a whopping 30% off the price — instead of costing $300 like the regular Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite is only $199.99.

For years, doctors have feared that the go-to antibiotics that are relied on to kill off infections would begin to fail, as new so-called “superbug” infections found a way around them. That’s already started to happen, and the arms race between dangerous microorganisms and scientists is being waged every day.

Now, a team of researchers from MIT has developed a new type of antibiotic that may work against antibiotic-resistant infections. Well, the researchers themselves didn’t develop it… they told a computer to do it for them, and it worked.

To be honest, I’ve never quite understood the appeal of foldable phones. From my vantage point, the notion of a foldable smartphone is eerily reminiscent of Google Glass to the extent that it’s a cool and futuristic product without real mainstream appeal. In short, foldable phones appear to provide solutions to usability problems that don’t exist.

That notwithstanding, Samsung is as committed as ever to the idea. After the debacle that was the Galaxy Fold, Samsung went back to the drawing board and came up with a new foldable phone it calls the Galaxy Z Flip, a device that looks far more intriguing and useful than the Galaxy Fold. For starters, the Z Flip opens up vertically as opposed to horizontally, which lends itself to a more natural user experience.

In our solar system, Jupiter is king. It’s far larger than the other planets in our system and it absolutely dwarfs Earth. But in the grand scheme of things, Jupiter isn’t really all that impressive. It’s big, sure, but compared to other gas giants in our neck of the galactic woods, it’s just a little fella.

Researchers using data from the Gaia sky survey have identified a gas giant not far from Earth that puts Jupiter to shame. It’s not just a little bit bigger than our nearby gas giant… it’s roughly ten times the size. Yeah, it’s huge, and it’s only around 330 light years from Earth.

There is still time for Microsoft and Sony to make a surprise announcement before the end of the month, but all signs are pointing to a later date for the full reveals of the Xbox Series X and PS5. In the meantime, we have to depend on leaks to help us fill in the blanks when it comes to the specifications and features of the next-gen consoles, and this week, we might have gotten a few exciting confirmations about the power of the consoles.

I don’t care if you’re driving, eating a meal, spending quality time with a loved one, or performing surgery. Whatever you’re doing is far less important than making sure you’re among the people who get their hands on the insanely adorable new Baby Yoda animatronic toy that Hasbro just unveiled this week.

The Mandalorian is without question the best content that has come out of the Star Wars universe since the original trilogy all the way back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In fact, it was one of the best new shows that came out all year last year. Mando himself is a terrific character and the action was fantastic, but everyone knows that the best thing about The Mandalorian was Baby Yoda.

Okay, fine, so his name isn’t really “Baby Yoda.” The Child is nothing short of a pop culture phenomenon though, and people tripped over themselves buying bootleg plush Baby Yoda toys late last year. Forget the plush toys though, because something so much better was just unveiled. It’s technically called The Child Animatronic Edition toy from Hasbro, and it might be the greatest thing ever! Animatronic Baby Yoda packs more than 25 different sound and motion combinations, and I think I could probably just sit there and stare at him for hours. Unfortunately, there’s some bad news: The Child Animatronic Edition toy won’t be released by Hasbro until sometime this fall. Amazon has December 15th listed as the release date, but that’s likely just a placeholder and we can expect this awesome Hasbro toy to hit physical and virtual store shelves long before the holidays. It’ll be impossible to find unless you want to pay hundreds on eBay though, so pre-order one now on Amazon for just $60!
