Gaming fans all over the world are anxiously awaiting any word at all from Sony or Microsoft about their respective next-gen consoles, but Nintendo fans don’t care about new hardware. Rather, Switch owners want to know what they will be playing in the weeks and months to come, which is why they have been slowly losing their minds over the lack of news from Nintendo. Thankfully, the wait is over, as a new Nintendo Direct is on the way.

On Tuesday, Nintendo announced that it will livestream a Direct focused entirely on Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Switch on February 20th at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET. This is Nintendo’s second livestream of the year, as the company revealed expansions for Pokemon Sword and Shield back in January.

SpaceX agrees to launch four paying space tourists into Earth orbit

While SpaceX has been working hard to deliver a safe, reliable method of transporting astronauts into space for NASA, there’s always been the question of how long it would take before any company, including SpaceX, embraced space tourism. There’s not a whole lot going on in the space tourism market at the moment, aside from big promises for the future, but SpaceX just confirmed that it won’t be left on the sideline when it comes to sending paying customers into the sky.

The company says that it has agreed to fly four private individuals around the Earth in one of its Crew Dragon capsules. Those spacecraft are the same ones that will be used by NASA to send astronauts to the International Space Station.

Samsung shows third-party ads in the phone app on its $1,400 Galaxy Z Flip, and we can’t believe it

%name Samsung shows third party ads in the phone app on its $1,400 Galaxy Z Flip, and we can’t believe it by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In a blog post that has attracted a pretty sizable amount of attention today, Tumblr software engineer Steve Streza called out Apple pretty harshly for what he sees as the iPhone maker shoving way too many ads in its users’ faces. Those ads generally market new Apple services and subscriptions like Apple TV+ and Apple News+, and because the company’s services business that encompasses those offerings is such a focus for Apple right now, Streza’s argument is that Apple is going way overboard in advertising those products.

Top insider says Samsung’s slump will continue because the Galaxy S20 is a dud

%name Top insider says Samsung’s slump will continue because the Galaxy S20 is a dud by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung took a calculated risk when it jumped from the Galaxy S10 in 2019 to the Galaxy S20 this year. Samsung certainly isn’t the only Android smartphone vendor to play fast and loose with its numbering scheme in recent years, but while it can be a clever marketing tactic, it can also backfire if the phone itself doesn’t also feel like a significant upgrade over its predecessor. And in the case of the Galaxy S20, it really doesn’t.

In a recent report, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via cnBeta) predicted that Samsung would ship 30-32 million Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra phones this year. That might sound like a lot, and it’s nothing to sneeze at, but in 2019, Samsung sold an estimated 36-38 million Galaxy S10 series devices. Even if his projection is low, that’s still a huge dropoff for the biggest phone maker on the planet.

Google’s next-generation Pixel 5 was just confirmed

%name Google’s next generation Pixel 5 was just confirmed by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In all of its smartphone-making history, Google hasn’t been able to keep any of its Nexus or Pixel devices secret. We’ve known everything there was to know about the company’s smartphones months ahead of their launches each year. Complete Pixel 3 reviews were out well before the phone was even unveiled, and some stores in Asia even had overpriced Pixel 3 units on sale ahead of the device’s release. The Pixel 4 was an even bigger disaster when it comes to rumors, as Google tried to stay ahead of leaks last year by announcing some of the new features coming to the phone, but Google only helped confirm every single rumor that followed. The Pixel 5 is next, and things aren’t looking good for the handset either. Just a few days ago, we saw the first Pixel 5 render. Now, it turns out that Google has already confirmed the next-generation Pixel phone in public.

Coronavirus claims life of Chinese hospital director, causes mass confusion

%name Coronavirus claims life of Chinese hospital director, causes mass confusion by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The 51-year-old director of a hospital in Wuhan, China, has died after being infected with the virus that his hospital staff is working so hard to contain and treat. Liu Zhiming’s death was reported, then retracted, and then reported again over the course of several hours on Monday, leading media reports that were nothing short of surreal.

As Gizmodo reports, Zhiming’s death was declared by multiple state-run media outlets on Monday, but it wasn’t long before conflicting reports stating he was still alive began to circulate. Reports of his death began to disappear, and additional reports that the director was still in treatment popped up briefly before the Wuhan Health Commission (Chinese) put the matter to rest early on Tuesday, confirming Zhiming’s death.

Google Stadia comes to Samsung, Razer, and Asus phones this week

%name Google Stadia comes to Samsung, Razer, and Asus phones this week by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When Stadia launched last year, the only smartphones that supported that cloud gaming service were Google’s Pixel phones. If you didn’t own a Pixel 2, Pixel 3, or Pixel 4, you were out of luck when it came to playing games on mobile — though Stadia is also playable on computers, tablets, and on TVs with Chromecast Ultra. But on Tuesday, Google announced that millions of new phones will be compatible with the service later this week.

Marvel might’ve just confirmed another new Avenger for its upcoming ‘Avengers 5’ blockbuster

%name Marvel might’ve just confirmed another new Avenger for its upcoming ‘Avengers 5’ blockbuster by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Marvel may not have an Avengers 5 film scheduled for MCU Phase 4, but it’s only a matter of time until the studio will reveal its plans for the soft reboot of the Avengers franchise. No studio would drop its most prized possession after the massive successes of Infinity War and Endgame, but Marvel can’t just go to the next chapter and expect the same results. Avengers 3 and 4 worked so well because Marvel built a massive overarching story that spanned a decade, allowing us to get to know a slew of exciting characters over the course of 24 movies. Now that Iron Man, Nat, and Captain America are gone from the Avengers team, and Thor and Hawkeye are on a course toward retirement, we’re going to need a new team — which is why Avengers 5 will be a soft reboot for the series. But before we get there, we need to meet these new heroes and fall in love with them just as we did with the original six.

As we’ve already explained, everything we’ve learned so far suggests Marvel is working on a new Avengers roster, one that could be more diverse than ever before. While we have no idea how many new Avengers we’re getting or when they’ll be officially anointed, we have one more name to add to the list, and this one is apparently confirmed to have a bigger role to play in the future of the MCU.
