Valentine’s Day 2020 will be remembered in the tech world as the day when Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip went on sale, and the new foldable sold out quickly. That’s not surprising given the fact that the clamshell handset is more affordable than alternatives, and it happens to be the world’s first phone to ship with bendable glass on top of the OLED screen. But February 14th, 2020 will also be remembered as the day we got our first look at a phone that’s not supposed to launch for another eight months. That’s the Pixel 5, which should be unveiled in October during a “Made by Google” hardware event, and it’ll be released in stores soon after that. The render below officially marks the start of the Pixel 5 leak season, and from the looks of it, Android fans have a very exciting new phone to look forward to.

The best-tasting protein bars ever are discounted today on Amazon

%name The best tasting protein bars ever are discounted today on Amazon by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s kind of funny how everyone thinks their protein bar of choice is the best tasting protein bar out there. Well, I can promise you this: if you’re among the many, many people out there who believe that, you’re only correct if your protein bar of choice is the Quest Hero bar. Honestly, it’s just plain crazy how delicious they are.

Quest’s Hero protein bars use allulose as sweetener, and it tastes exactly like sugar. But it isn’t metabolized by your body so it doesn’t have any of the calories you get from sugar. Think about that — it tastes just as good as it would if it was packed full of real sugar, but it has none of the downsides of sugar!

There are three different flavors and they’re all delicious, but my absolute favorite is the Quest Nutrition Chocolate Hero Protein Bar. 10-count boxes are $19.98 right now on Amazon, plus you can save 30% on a box when you buy two. The Quest Nutrition Blueberry Cobbler Hero Protein Bar is a close second for me, and then the third flavor is Vanilla Caramel, which is down to $15.46 for a 10-count box.

Quest Nutrition Chocolate Hero Protein bar

  • Sold as 1 pack. Each Pack contains 10 bars (2.12 oz each), net weight 21.2 oz/ 1.3 lb
  • Sweet and chewy core with a Gooey layer of caramel flavor inside a white chocolate coating

5 exciting Galaxy S20 features I hope Apple steals for the iPhone 12

%name 5 exciting Galaxy S20 features I hope Apple steals for the iPhone 12 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung has been stealing features and designs from Apple for nearly a decade now. Heck, Samsung literally wrote the book on how to copy the iPhone pixel by pixel. There’s no question that the South Korean tech giant has gone its own way in recent years, but that’s mainly the result of all the high-profile lawsuits Apple had to slap Samsung with. It’s a good thing, too, because Samsung’s flagship smartphones used to be shameless iPhone copycats and now they’re stunning handsets that look nothing like the iPhone. In fact, Samsung has gotten so good at smartphone designs that it has triggered a massive shift in the smartphone market. Just two short years ago, practically every Android phone maker out there was copying Apple’s iPhone X design — just look at this image that shows 20 embarrassing iPhone X rip-offs. Now, in 2020, all those same companies are copying Samsung instead.

The tables have turned indeed, but they’ve also turned in a different way: it’s Apple that should be copying Samsung this year for its upcoming iPhone 12. We already know that the unreleased iPhone 12 series will sport a fresh new design after three consecutive years without any meaningful design changes. TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is the most accurate Apple insider out there, and he reports that the new iPhone models will feature a refreshed look with flat metal edges like the iPhone 5 design that everyone loved so much. As far as new features go, however, not much is known for the time being. Well, if it’s not too late in the development process, there are a few features from the Galaxy S20 series that goes up for pre-order today that I really hope Apple steals from Samsung for the iPhone 12.

You need to grab AirPods Pro at Amazon’s lowest price ever before this crazy deal ends

%name You need to grab AirPods Pro at Amazon’s lowest price ever before this crazy deal ends by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We were as shocked as anyone else when Apple’s super-popular AirPods Pro went back on sale yesterday at Amazon’s lowest price ever. In fact, we were pretty sure at the time that it was a Valentine’s Day miracle. AirPods Pro sold out about a month ago on Amazon, but the site continued to let people order them at a discount even while they were out of stock. According to anecdotal evidence from our readers, Amazon was about 1-2 weeks behind on order fulfillment, which isn’t bad at all considering the rare opportunity to save on Apple’s true wireless noise cancelling earbuds. Unfortunately, the fun ended a couple of weeks ago and the price went back up to the same $249 price you’ll find anywhere else.

Then on Thursday, the magic happened: the price on Amazon dropped back down to match AirPods Pro’s all-time low! Why are we telling you about this killer deal again already? Simple: there’s no way this deal will last much longer. In fact, it’ll probably be gone by the end of the weekend. So if you want to get your hands on AirPods Pro with a rare discount, now is the time to pull the trigger.

Regarding when you can expect them to arrive, Amazon currently only lists AirPods Pro as “out of stock.” It still looks like order are arriving within a week or two though, so the wait shouldn’t be that long at all. If you want new AirPods right away, other AirPods models are on sale as well. In fact, AirPods with the wireless charging case just got an even bigger discount than we saw last week and they ship out immediately. Also of note, Sony’s class-leading WF1000XM3 true wireless noise cancelling earbuds are on sale at an all-time low as well right now, so that’s another great option you won’t have to wait for.

%name Sony’s struggling with PS5 pricing, and devices like the Galaxy S20 might be to blame by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Several leaks said Sony would unveil the PlayStation 5 in February, just like it did with its predecessor back in 2013, but that hasn’t happened. A February PS5 reveal event sounds unlikely at this point. Sony is yet to send out invites for the press conference, and a new report says the company might have a bigger problem on its hands. The console maker hasn’t decided the PS5 price, the report notes, which should have been settled this month. And it looks like mobile devices, including the Galaxy S20 series that Samsung just unveiled, might be to blame for Sony’s PS5 pricing struggles.

Google’s next major Android version is just around the corner, and I’m not talking about the highly-anticipated I/O 2020 big reveal. Google will likely release the very first Android 11 beta, the Developer Preview kind of early OS release that targets app developers, in a short while. The public beta, meanwhile, will drop only in May, and it’ll be more stable than the first developer release. You can’t quite download Android 11 DP just yet, but Google has mistakenly revealed some of the first features of Android 11, by publishing the Android 11 developers announcement a few days or weeks early.

Here’s your latest reminder that Android security is a joke

%name Here’s your latest reminder that Android security is a joke by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The pile of Android threats to watch out for has been mounting at a pretty rapid clip so far this year, with apps sneaking into the Google Play Store that can do everything from log in to your Google and Facebook accounts, access key features of your device, spread malware and so much more. Google, of course, kicks these apps out of its store as soon as they’re found, which we note each time this occurs — though each instance is also one more reminder of just how much of a minefield the threat landscape remains. Meanwhile, as if all that weren’t enough, the security firm Malwarebytes is calling attention to what may be one of the nastiest Android infections yet — a piece of malware that’s actually been circulating for a while now that can reinfect a device after almost every defense has been thrown at it, including a factory reset.

This new 3D printing breakthrough will blow your mind

%name This new 3D printing breakthrough will blow your mind by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Researchers may have just figured out completely transform fields like medicine and biology, thanks to an innovative new 3D-printing technique that could be used to produce objects ranging from tissue to organs, mouthguards, and hearing aids — all in a matter of seconds.

It’s the result of a new technique developed by researchers at the Laboratory of Applied Photonics Devices within Switzerland’s Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. The technique starts with a translucent liquid, and slowly the object begins to take shape in a small, spinning container. The team says this method can be used to produce small objects “with unprecedented precision and resolution” in only a brief amount of time — less than 30 seconds, from start to finish. Details about the technique have been published in the journal Nature Communications, and a spinoff of the laboratory called Readily3D has been established to commercialize this technique.

Samsung’s Dexbook could boost the size of your phone’s display without any folding

%name Samsung’s Dexbook could boost the size of your phone’s display without any folding by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The reason that foldable devices exist is that we all want more screen real estate from our mobile devices without the extra bulk. The sad reality is that this works better in theory than in practice. Both the Galaxy Fold and the Mate X unfolds into tablets, but they’re rather bulky nonetheless. The brand new Galaxy Z Flip unfolds into a regular all-screen smartphone that looks a lot like the Galaxy S20, but you can’t do anything with it when it’s folded. And even when it is folded shut, the Z Flip is rather chunky for a modern smartphone.

The technology isn’t quite ready to make the slim, foldable devices we’re dreaming of a reality. But it turns out that you don’t need a folding screen to extend the smartphone display beyond its already slim edges.
