Call me old-fashioned, but I’ve always enjoyed using Apple’s built-in Mail app for iOS. Sure, the app itself admittedly lacks some advanced features you can readily find on third-party email clients, but the overall user experience is simple, serviceable, and relatively straight forward. I’ve tried any number of email clients over the years, but I always seem to revert back to Apple’s own Mail app for iOS.

While I can certainly understand the desire to use a more fleshed out email client for iOS, you’d be well-advised to do some research before downloading certain email clients from the App Store. As laid out in a new and eye-opening article on Motherboard, a number of popular email apps — including one that can be found in a list of top 100 Productivity apps — have been busy scraping user emails and selling anonymized data to third parties.

Expectations for backwards compatibility on next-gen consoles have skyrocketed in recent months, as rumors have suggested the PlayStation 5 is capable of playing every PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 game ever made. Of course, Sony has yet to confirm this, and there hasn’t been much compelling evidence, but one way or another, being able to play old games natively on the upcoming consoles has become a major topic of conversation.

The 92nd Academy Awards are behind us, but this will be one we’ll be talking about for years to come. For the first time in Oscars history, a foreign film took home the Best Picture award, and what a film it is. If you haven’t seen Parasite, you might as well give it a chance now that it took home the big prize.

Then there was Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker role that was rewarded with the Best Actor award, a huge win for superhero films, and probably a huge disappointment for Martin Scorsese, whose The Irishman took exactly zero awards home, even though it was nominated in multiple categories. As CNN reports, health scientists studying the spread of the virus now believe that hospitals became unwitting hotspots of viral infection. In the case of one hospital in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, nearly half of patients infected with the coronavirus actually caught it inside the hospital itself.

For years, Apple has been satisfied with dominating the high-end of the smartphone market — especially in the US — while letting Android vendors fight over the low-end. But while the high-end will always be Apple’s priority, it has taken a few detours to expand its reach in recent years with the iPhone 5C and iPhone SE. Now, rumors point to another budget model in the works, and it might be even cheaper than we expected.

Citing sources with knowledge of the iPhone’s supply chain, Fast Company claims that the production of parts for the iPhone 9 is ramping up, while one source believes that the phone will likely retail for $399. This won’t come as much of a surprise, as the original iPhone SE debuted at the same price in 2016.
