Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip: All the massive leaks you missed over the weekend

With just one day to go before Samsung finally unveils its new Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones, it seems like everything there is to know has already leaked. That includes pricing, specs, designs, release dates, and more. We know the Galaxy S20 series is going to be packed full of cutting-edge specs and that pricing will be a bit higher than we were initially expecting. We also know that the high-end Galaxy S20 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most beastly smartphones the world has ever seen, with monstrous specs and a camera that looks like it’ll blow everything else out of the water. As for the Galaxy Z Flip, the phone isn’t yet official but we can already tell that it’s a big improvement over last year’s Galaxy Fold. The Z Flip has a much better design, of course, and it’ll also be priced much more reasonably than the $2,000 Galaxy Fold. In fact, you’ll be able to get a foldable Galaxy Z Flip smartphone for less than a top-of-the-line iPhone 11 Pro Max.

It certainly seems like we know all there is to know about Samsung’s new flagship phones ahead of tomorrow’s Unpacked event, and yet a slew of new leaks spilled across the web over the weekend and revealed even more about the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip. Since there were so many different leaks over the weekend, we decided to round them all up into one big post.

%name Forget Samsung’s Galaxy S20, Pixel 4 and 4 XL are down to all time low prices at Amazon by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung is just one day away from making its hot new Galaxy S20 series official, so tons of people are probably wondering whether or not to buy one. Well, here’s your answer: no, you shouldn’t buy one. Why not? Because Amazon is running a killer sale right now that slashes $200 off the Google Pixel 4 and Google Pixel 4 XL flagship smartphones. Prices start at just $599 in this sale, which match all-time lows and are likely about $300+ less than you’ll have to pay if you want the cheapest Galaxy S20.

Is Sony’s big PS5 launch event in trouble?

%name Is Sony’s big PS5 launch event in trouble? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Just as Nintendo confirmed that the coronavirus outbreak will slow Switch manufacturing last week, some analysts said that the infectious disease might delay the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X arrivals this fall. In fact, any highly anticipated electronics that are made in China might be affected by the virus outbreak. The Chinese government extended holiday leave and quarantined entire areas to reduce the risk of infections. Nonetheless, the number of patients is increasing at a steady rate — and with it, the number of fatalities.

The spread of the virus might not only affect production but actual product announcements in the coming months, PS5 included. Sony just announced that it’s pulling out of Mobile World Congress, the most important mobile trade show of the year, following the lead of other companies that withdrew from MWC in the past few days. Is the hotly anticipated PS5 launch the next big event that will be impacted?

There’s no question that Nest played a big role in popularizing wireless home security cameras, but there’s also no question that the company is insane to still be charging $200 per camera. There are so many options out there that are just as good for much less money. In fact, there’s one option out there that is even better than the Nest Cam and it costs a small fraction of the price. The new and improved Wyze Cam WYZEC2 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera has all the features that made the original great, plus a few improvements like support for Alexa and Google Assistant. Right now, it’s on sale for just $24.39, which means you can buy eight of these cameras for less than the cost of a single Nest Cam!

Oscar winners 2020: The complete list of winners (and losers)

%name Oscar winners 2020: The complete list of winners (and losers) by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Interest in awards shows continue to dwindle each year, but there are a handful of events that are still a very big deal. At the top of that list, of course, is the Academy Awards. We knew the Oscars in 2020 would be filled with heartache because there were so many fantastic films and performances up for the top awards. It’s true every year, of course, but in 2020 in particular there was no way everyone would walk away from the show feeling like their favorite films got the recognition they deserved. Any one of the nine movies up for the Best Picture Oscar would have been deserving of the top honor, for example, but no one argued when Parasite took home the award. Along the same lines, so many actors and actresses were worthy of the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress awards, and the Supporting Actor and Actress Oscars were up in the air as well.

We don’t blame you if you didn’t make it to the end of the Oscars 2020 awards ceremony last night. Heck, we don’t blame you if you skipped it entirely. But if you want to see how your favorite movies, actors, and actresses did at last night’s show, we’ve rounded up every single winner and loser from the 92nd Academy Awards, and you’ll find them all below.

Galaxy S20 camera samples leak, showing new night mode and zoom features

%name Galaxy S20 camera samples leak, showing new night mode and zoom features by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung will unveil two new phones later this week, including the Z Flip clamshell foldable that’s already being advertised on TV, and the Galaxy S20 series, which comes in three sizes, all of them featuring 120Hz displays and 5G connectivity. If you’ve been following the flood of Galaxy S20 leaks in the past few weeks, you already know this is going to be Samsung’s best phone. It’ll feature a Galaxy Note 10-like design, and even more powerful specs than its predecessors. The camera experience is also going to get several upgraded features, with the S20 Ultra expected to deliver the best camera ever seen on a Galaxy S phone so far. All three phones will feature up to quad-lens cameras on the back, although it’s the Ultra that’s supposed to feature a 108-megapixel primary camera, as well as a periscope zoom lens on the back. We’ve known these details for weeks, but what we didn’t have at the time, to back all these leaks up, were camera samples. With just a few hours to go until Samsung’s Unpacked 2020 event, Galaxy S20 camera samples leaked as well.

If you watched the Oscars last night, you might have noticed a Samsung commercial for an unexpected product, one that doesn’t officially exist. That’s the Galaxy Z clamshell foldable, of course, a phone that anyone who follows tech news closely is aware of. The handset appeared in a large number of leaks in the past few weeks, including plenty of hands-on videos. Apparently, you can stumble into Z Flip units in certain stores, if you’re lucky, several days ahead of the official launch. The Galaxy Z Flip will be unveiled on Tuesday, alongside the Galaxy S20 series, and should go on sale on February 14th in the US and other markets. But Samsung’s Oscars ad only needed 30 seconds to confirm many of the recent leaks detailing the new foldable.
