If you were hoping 2020 might be the year that Netflix finally stops removing content from its streaming service, I am sad to report that it will continue unabated into the new year. Thankfully, the list of shows and movies being removed in January isn’t especially long, but there are a few gems worth seeking out.

The two that immediately stood out to me were The Fighter and Short Term 12, both of which received countless accolades and should absolutely be in your queue if you haven’t seen them. We’re also losing all four seasons of IFC’s Maron, which is the show starring Marc Maron about Marc Maron’s life. If you like Marc Maron, you’ll probably like it too. This is also a great time to watch Zombieland, with the sequel having just come out.

OnePlus teased a surprise announcement for CES 2020 next month, and we’d be surprised to see the Chinese smartphone maker announce a brand new phone so early in the new year. We do expect OnePlus to unveil its new OnePlus 8 phones at some point in the first half of 2020, and that should include the company’s first-ever mid-range phone. Dubbed OnePlus 8 Lite, the more affordable device might still be the kind of high-end “Lite” phone you’d expect from OnePlus, especially if this new leak is correct. Studying a galaxy from the inside can be a tricky thing, but astronomers have still managed to learn a great deal about our own Milky Way. One of the things scientists think they know about our galaxy — and many other galaxies like our own — is that they revolve around a black hole. In the case of the Milky Way, the object in the center of the galaxy is believed to be a supermassive black hole, and that’s not uncommon.

However, as astrophysicist Smadar Naoz writes, recent observations hint at the possibility that the black hole scientists believe resides at the location known as Sgr A* (the center of our galaxy) has a friend.

Disney and Marvel have had a huge year, registering three major successes at the box office including Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, although it’s Avengers 4 that’s obviously the biggest win for the companies. Marvel’s huge gamble paid off in the best possible way, turning the MCU into a property with no equal. Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is only going to get better now that Disney owns all of Fox’s properties, as Marvel can add several key characters to the MCU including the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Deadpool. Marvel will reboot two of those three franchises, with Deadpool staying exactly as is.

Of all three, it’s Deadpool who is likely to be the first Fox hero to hit the MCU. A report last week said that Marvel may use a Phase 4 film to introduce the character, and a second story reinforces that idea, providing an additional clue about Marvel’s rumored plans. But, more importantly, this leak might reveal the key plot detail that will help Marvel fix Deadpool’s huge problem that makes the character incompatible with the MCU.
