Apple had the courage to ditch the headphone jack on its iPhones — in part, so that you’d ultimately be far more likely to buy AirPods or wireless Beats headphones — but there’s one thing it’ll never have the courage to do: make a single cable that charges your iPhone and your Apple Watch. Why not? Probably because it makes more money selling individual charging cables that cost up to $40 a pop. Instead of coughing up that kind of cash to Apple, there’s a much better option. The Uoeos 2 in 1 Charging Cable for iPhone and Apple Watch is a single cable that has a Lightning connector and a wireless charging disc for your Apple Watch, and it’s on Amazon today for only $10!

Google won’t exempt Fortnite from the Play Store’s 30% cut

%name Google won’t exempt Fortnite from the Play Store’s 30% cut by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Fortnite has been available on Android for quite a while now, but you can’t download the app from the only place you should ever install apps on Android, the Google Play store. That’s because Epic wanted to avoid paying Google any fees on in-app purchases and provided users direct access to the game, which is sort of a security issue you shouldn’t bother with. Since then, Epic has tried to get Google to exempt the popular game from the Play store’s 30% cut, but Google refused.

The world’s cheapest 5G phone costs just $285, but you might not be able to buy it

After years of talking about 5G, carriers have finally rolled out 5G networks in 2019 and started selling several handsets ready to support the faster data transfers. However, most of these phones are more expensive than their 4G equivalents, and buying one makes little sense unless you happen to live or work in the vicinity of those few places where 5G actually works. Come 2020, however, 5G phones will become even more affordable, just as 5G coverage expands around the world. And it all starts with a 5G phone that costs only $285. Sadly, it might not be available in your market anytime soon.

Wildlife conservationist says her tigers weren’t trying to kill her when they mauled her

A pair of adult tigers got a little too rough with their handler over the weekend during a fundraising event for Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Inc, in Moorpark, California. The company’s director, Patty Perry, was reportedly attacked by the two big cats, and Perry sustained injuries to her neck after the animals tackled her to the ground.

Needless to say, this was an alarming sight for others in attendance. Perry, who had entered the tigers’ cage, was wrapped up by one of the big cats before a second jumped on top. Others at the event were able to distract the animals and allow Perry to slip out of the enclosure.

Disney+ could close out 2019 with a seriously impressive 20 million subscribers

%name Disney+ could close out 2019 with a seriously impressive 20 million subscribers by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As much as everyone is talking about Disney+, which is a testament to how deeply it’s become embedded in popular culture (so much so that it’s become the subject of everything from Twitter memes to an entire episode of South Park), it’s hard to believe Disney only launched its new streaming offering about a month ago. Actually, less than a month ago, as of the time of this writing.

The Disney+ exclusive series that’s far and away gotten the most buzz so far is, as everyone knows by now, The Mandalorian — the final episode of which will arrive on the service on December 27. That will close out December as well as wrap up 2019 for the streamer, which will also coincide with a big milestone for Disney’s still awfully young service: Credit Suisse is predicting that by the end of this month, Disney will have roped in a whopping 20 million subscribers.
