The PlayStation 5 is one of the hottest gadgets right now when it comes to rumors and leaks, but the console doesn’t actually exist. We’ve only seen the development kit in several leaks, while Sony revealed several details about the console’s hardware in recent months. In other words, you can’t buy the PS5 in stores right now, and you can preorder it either — there is a way to make your own PS5, which is, essentially, a high-end gaming PC. That said, some retailers are already taking PS5 preorders, while others will let you sign up for notifications to find out when sales start. Best Buy, it turns out, is one of them, as the company put up a registration page for PlayStation 5 preorder news.

With 2019 almost over, we don’t have any significant smartphone announcements left, as most vendors release new products in time for the busy holiday shopping season that starts in early November, several weeks ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The next batch of flagships will drop in February, before and during the upcoming Mobile World Congress edition in Spain. Phones like the Galaxy S11 series, the next Galaxy Fold generation, or the OnePlus 8 have already appeared in several reports this fall, with Samsung’s next Galaxy S model being the king of leaks so far. While we’ll have to wait a few more months for Samsung to announce the Galaxy S11 series, we do have one certain thing. The Snapdragon 865, the processor that will power many of next year’s Android flagship, is now official — and it doesn’t come with 5G on board.

Piece of Boeing airliner breaks loose, lands in residential neighborhood

Lots of people struggle with a fear of flying, but normally if you’re a little bit freaked out by the thought of a massive commercial jet, you’re actually on that jet. Folks in a residential neighborhood in Milton, Massachusettes, now have an entirely different reason to fear Boeing jets, and it has nothing to do with traveling on them.

As AP reports, a pilot flying a Boeing plane operated by Delta reported hearing “a loud noise” as the aircraft was making its way down to Logan Airport on a flight from Paris. That noise, as it turns out, was an inflatable evacuation slide breaking free from the plane. It landed in the middle of a back yard, just feet from residents who were working in their yard.

‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ sequel could hit PS5 even sooner than we expected

%name ‘Marvel’s Spider Man’ sequel could hit PS5 even sooner than we expected by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The first Spider-Man game from Insomniac turned out to be a massive success for the PlayStation 4, and it will likely be a hit on the console’s successor next year. The PS5 is expected to be backward compatible, and will run plenty of PS4 games, especially first-party games coming directly from Sony and its subsidiaries.

But things are going to get even better for PS5 early adopters that loved the game. That’s because the sequel is already in the works and will launch sooner than we thought, according to an insider. Before you get too excited, however, you should know the game won’t be available next November when the PS5 hits stores.

Genius sues Google over copied song lyrics after hiding another secret code to prove it

%name Genius sues Google over copied song lyrics after hiding another secret code to prove it by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Over the summer, the Genius lyrics website made a slew of headlines over its accusation that Google has been just flat-out lifting song lyrics from its site and plopping them right onto a search results page, making it so that you don’t even have to click through to the Genius website anymore.

How did Genius become certain of that discovery? By hiding a Morse code message within some of the lyrics on its own site, the code being a series of curly and straight apostrophes which, when assembled, correspond to the Morse code for the word “REDHANDED” (as in, Google has been caught red-handed). Sure enough, those apostrophes showed up in Google results. But here’s the thing, though. After confronting Google with that evidence as described in a lawsuit Genius filed today against the search giant (with Genius describing that evidence as Watermark #1), Genius then decided to hide a second secret code (Watermark #2) inside its lyrics to further prove the lyrics are being copied.

Samsung’s next Galaxy Fold will have a hinge you can barely see

%name Samsung’s next Galaxy Fold will have a hinge you can barely see by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As 2019 draws to a close and Samsung winds down its first year of offering foldable smartphones as a viable commercial product, rumors and leaks are already starting to mount about what the South Korea-based tech giant is planning along these same lines for 2020 and beyond. For example, among the things we already definitely know is that Samsung is already set on releasing at least one and most likely two new foldable smartphones next year — likely a direct successor to the Galaxy Fold that’s being informally referred to as the Galaxy Fold 2, as well as a foldable clamshell smartphone.

Meanwhile, as we noted earlier on Tuesday, Samsung may also address one of the biggest obstacles between customers and this year’s Galaxy Fold, besides the unusual form factor: The steep price tag. According to The Korea Herald, the new foldable handset Samsung is prepping will likely cost around $845 in Korea next year. And, beyond that, Samsung may also bring something entirely new to the design next year as well.

Japan’s asteroid probe just fired up its engine for a historic return to Earth

Japan’s Hayabusa2 asteroid probe has already accomplished a lot. The spacecraft successfully traveled to its target, a space rock known as Ryugu, where it entered orbit and completed some daring sample-gathering maneuvers. Earlier this month, the probe departed from the asteroid and today it begins its journey back to Earth.

As Space.com reports, Hayabusa2 recently fired up its ion propulsion system in a brief test to ensure it’s ready to push the spacecraft back home. The test went smoothly, and today the Japanese space program JAXA will hit the throttle.

Netflix’s movie library is shrinking as company remains focused on original TV content

%name Netflix’s movie library is shrinking as company remains focused on original TV content by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As Netflix continues to pour billions of dollars into developing original content, the company’s once gargantuan library of movies continues to shrink. Hardly a surprise, Netflix executives have made it clear that their ultimate goal is to lessen their reliance on third-party content as much as possible. Just a few years ago, for example, Netflix CFO David Wells said that Netflix eventually wants 50% of all TV shows and movies available on its site to be original content.

In light of that, Netflix hasn’t been afraid to let big licensing deals with movie studios expire. Most famously, Netflix in 2015 opted not to renew a licensing deal with Epix, a decision which saw the streaming giant lose thousands of movies, including top-tier titles such as The Wolf of Wall Street and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. All told, Netflix’s selection of movies has been shrinking drastically over the past few years.

Baby Yoda could become Kid Yoda in future ‘Star Wars’ movies and shows

%name Baby Yoda could become Kid Yoda in future ‘Star Wars’ movies and shows by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Of all the good shows worth streaming right now, The Mandalorian on Disney+ stands out. Not just because it’s a great addition to the Star Wars universe, but also because of one little, adorable, Force-infused Baby Yoda that you’ve probably seen everywhere online in the past few weeks. Even if Star Wars is not your cup of tea, you must know who Yoda is, and even if you don’t have a Disney+ subscription, you’ve probably seen many of the Baby Yoda memes featuring scenes from the new series popping up all over Twitter and Facebook.

Well, if you’re a fan of the puppet, you will be happy to learn that a new report claims Baby Yoda will become Kid Yoda in the future. If true, that’s a great spoiler for both The Mandalorian and the greater Star Wars universe, no matter what goes down in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker later this month.

Google’s great Photos app is now a chat app, too

%name Google’s great Photos app is now a chat app, too by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google’s Photos app is a fantastic way to manage your library of photos, with so many bells and whistles that include easy tools to add filters and effects, combine photos into albums and movies, and compile photos into a nice printed book that makes for a great gift. The app also brings Google’s first-class AI chops to bear, helpfully tagging and sorting your photos so that you don’t need to do the extra work, as well as providing easy searchability that makes the app a Gmail-like service, but for Photos.

Meanwhile, Google is also adding yet another feature to the app that — granted, it might make some of you roll your eyes, since it’s related to messaging (and Google’s mobile messaging strategy has kind of been all over the place). This new chat feature being added to Google Photos, though, definitely makes a lot of sense, supports more photo-sharing between users, and you can check out what it looks like in action below.
