Pandemic is the hottest board game on Amazon right now, and it’s down to $24

%name Pandemic is the hottest board game on Amazon right now, and it’s down to $24 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Whether you’ve played Pandemic before or not, there are really only three things you need to know. 1) It’s the hottest board game on Amazon right now. 2) People absolutely love it — the game has over 2,200 5-star ratings on Amazon alone. 3) It’s on sale right now for an all-time low of just $23.99, which is a big discount compared to the normal $40 price tag. Pick it up now for guaranteed fun during your Thanksgiving get-together!

Pandemic: $23.99

Here’s everything you need to know about the game:

  • You and your team are the last defense standing in the way of deadly diseases that threaten the world! From designer Matt Leacock, Pandemic is a cooperative game of teamwork for two to four players.
  • As members of an elite disease control team, you must keep four deadly diseases at bay. Work together as you travel the globe to treat infections while collecting the cards you need to discover a cure for each disease.
  • The clock is ticking as outbreaks and epidemics fuel the spreading plagues. As a cooperative game, players win or lose together.
  • Only by working together can you keep the outbreaks in check and find the cures in time!
  • Over the course of the game, players use actions to move between hotspots while treating diseases and setting up a network of research stations that help them cure diseases and make movement more efficient.
  • Each player manages a hand of cards matching the colors of the four diseases. These cards allow them to travel more quickly between cities or—if a single player can collect five cards of the same color—discover a cure for a disease.
  • But plenty of challenges stand in their way. Outbreaks can spread diseases across the board and random epidemics can intensify a disease in a moment’s notice.
  • Access two free scenarios available for Pandemic: Government Shutdown and Isolation.

We are nearing the end of the current console generation (at least when it comes to PlayStation and Xbox), but until the new hardware is officially unveiled, developers will continue to pump out games for the PS4 and Xbox One. Many have already been announced, but during an Xbox Inside live stream at its X019 celebration in London on Thursday, Microsoft will show off 12 Xbox One games, some of which have never been seen before.

X019 will be going on all weekend in London, but this Xbox Inside stream is the equivalent of an E3 press conference (though there likely won’t be nearly as many momentous announcements). If you want to watch as it goes down, tune in to the embedded live stream below at 12 p.m. PT / 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Space can make your blood flow backwards

%name Space can make your blood flow backwards by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

NASA wants to send humans to Mars. Much of the technology to make such a mission a reality is already in place, and other vital systems could be developed in time for a crewed trip to the Red Planet in the 2030s. It’s exciting, but the journey will be long, and one serious question remains unanswered: How will human bodies react?

Scientists have been studying the effects of space travel on our bodies for some time. We know the short-term impacts of weightlessness are minor, but the long-term changes aren’t nearly as well understood. A new study reveals that we have a lot to learn and that spending a significant amount of time in space can have bizarre effects on blood flow.

%name The next huge Avengers movie as epic as ‘Endgame’ is coming, but it won’t be ‘Avengers 5’ by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Marvel announced all its titles for MCU Phase 4 — including Spider-Man 3, which launches in 2021 — but we’ll have to wait quite a while before we get to a new Avengers sequel. As we’ve explained before, storylines need time to develop before Avengers 5 can happen, as Marvel plans to introduce even more superheroes in the coming years in theaters and on Disney+. Several upcoming TV series will be intertwined with the new films, and we’ll see plenty of new heroes appear in the MCU. And many of them will probably be recruited to the next version of the Avengers, a team that won’t have at least three of the original six in it — Black Widow and Iron Man, who died in Endgame, and Captain America who is now retired. Hawkeye and Thor might also retire in the near future, and we have no idea what’ll happen to Hulk. Marvel recently teased that the next Avengers will not be as epic as Endgame and that it might take several years for us to get there. But a brand new leak suggests that Marvel may already be planting the seeds of the next Avengers film that will be as epic as Endgame.

The Black Death plague just reappeared in China

%name The Black Death plague just reappeared in China by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

At least two people in China are under close observation and are receiving treatment for infections of the same plague that devastated Europe in the mid-1300s. The two confirmed cases originated in north China and were confirmed by doctors in Beijing earlier this week.

The pneumonic variant of the plague, which affects the lungs, can easily spread to others through the air. It is one of the three main forms of plague infection, alongside bubonic and septicemic, but it’s believed that the pneumonic form was largely responsible for the rapid spread of plague during the Black Death pandemic that wiped out as much as half of Europe’s population centuries ago.
