The International Space Station is a high-tech laboratory and high-flying living space. It’s an incredible structure that has been keeping astronauts safe and helping them carry out scientific objectives for nearly two decades now. But, like any decades-old piece of machinery, the old girl needs a bit of maintenance every now and again, and that’s why astronauts spent their Sunday hauling around some supersized batteries.

Just like a mechanic dropping a shiny new battery into the guts of a 1998 Dodge Ram, astronauts Christina Koch and Andrew Morgan yanked three aging batteries from the exterior of the space station and installed two brand new ones.

Google first got us excited for the nifty new Google Photos feature called “Colorize” back in 2018, when the company teased it at I/O 2018 and showed us how it can take a black and white image you’ve captured and render it in color. That’s no mean feat, because the AI that underpins this feature goes on to imbue the image with the correct color choices in the correct way — trees, for example, show up looking natural and not shaded with, say, a purple hue.

Per a Google executive, the feature relies on TensorFlow’s machine learning capabilities to recognize the appropriate colors that need to be added to specific areas of black-and-white images. And now, thanks to an early version of the feature in action, when can get another look at how well this works.

NASA’s Curiosity rover is currently cruising around an area of Mars known as the Gale Crater. It’s a massive impact site that has existed for billions of years, and the version of it we see today hints at a much wetter time on Mars, when water flowed freely into the crater to form rivers and lakes.

Researchers are using observations from Curiosity to paint a picture of Mars as a watery world, and there’s no shortage of evidence to support it. As NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory highlights, a new paper published in Nature Geoscience uses the layers of sediment that make up the towering structure within the crater, known as Mount Sharp, to estimate when the climate of the Red Planet changed.

With the official OnePlus 7T announcement behind us, the only phone left for OnePlus to announce in 2019 is the Pro model of the updated flagship. And wouldn’t you know it – just weeks before the unveiling was expected to take place, what appear to be official renders of the OnePlus 7T Pro have leaked on Twitter.

Ishan Agarwal — the source of several high-profile leaks in recent months — shared renders of what he claims is the OnePlus 7T Pro on Twitter over the weekend, confirming that the more expensive model will indeed feature the same design that we saw on OnePlus 7 Pro earlier this year. In other words, the circular camera array that OnePlus added to the 7T will not be making its way to the Pro, though there is at least one notable change.

While Apple has been dominating headlines in recent weeks for its camera innovations for the iPhone 11 line, a recent rumor suggests that a truly revolutionary change may be coming to Samsung’s next camera. In late September, South Korean publication The Elec reported that the Galaxy S11 would be the first phone from Samsung to feature a camera capable of 5x optical zoom. Now even more evidence has been uncovered to support that claim.

On Sunday, The Elec returned with a new report, claiming that Korean test socket manufacturer MecaTech will supply Samsung with test sockets for the rumored periscope camera of the Galaxy S11.
