Leak reveals that the Pixel 4 will be more expensive than the Pixel 3 and even the iPhone 11

The Pixel 4 launch can’t come soon enough, considering the handset is easily the most leaked device in history. That’s because Google did something entirely different this year, looking to stay ahead of leaks. The company teased the rear camera of the handset months ago, and then officially announced two of the Pixel 4’s other signature features, including 3D face unlock and Motion Sense (Soli radar) gestures. But the leaks kept on coming, and it got even worse about a month ago when people in Asia were actually able to purchase early production units. Google’s revelations made identifying these devices even easier. The first reviews soon hit YouTube, with more and more blogs dedicating ample coverage to unearthing all of the phone’s tiny secrets. The only thing we didn’t really know was the Pixel 4’s price. A leak a few days ago suggested the phone will be more expensive than the iPhone 11, and we have a brand new one that tells us the same thing.

The same insider who said a few days ago that Apple will release a 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2 in the first quarter of the year is back with one more prediction. Ming-Chi Kuo, who’s been accurate with his notes about unreleased Apple products, says the iPhone 11 series and the new iPhone SE handset will boost sales in the first quarter of 2020.

If you do even a cursory search for articles and blog posts about Netflix’s forthcoming fantasy series The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill as monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, you’ll be confronted with at least one comparison over and over again. This buzzy new show, adapted from a series of The Witcher books, could end up doing for Netflix what Game of Thrones did for HBO, the thinking goes — and, as such, the Netflix series is repeatedly mentioned in the same breath as Thrones. That, of course, would suit all of us who were captivated by HBO’s game-changing series just fine, and definitely serve as another feather in Netflix’s cap.

But while early looks at the show certainly make it seem like this will definitely be as epic in scale as HBO’s dear, departed 8-season blockbuster about the fictional land of Westeros, one The Witcher actor actually has a request: Please stop comparing the two.

Lest anyone wasn’t clear about why it’s called the Streaming Wars for a reason, Disney has just offered a few new examples as it prepares to engage in a pitched battle with Netflix once its Disney+ streamer finally launches on November 12.

Disney is reportedly planning to ban ads for anything Netflix-related on all of the properties it owns, save for ESPN. That’s according to CNBC, which was told by a Disney spokesman that “The direct-to-consumer business has evolved, with many more entrants looking to advertise in traditional television, and across our portfolio of networks.” The implication being — why should Disney offer a platform for a rival like Netflix?

Some people have been asking for it ever since Breaking Bad ended, and others still aren’t sure if it’s going to tarnish the legacy of one of the best shows ever made, but the AMC series is getting an epilogue on Friday. Jesse Pinkman’s story was left unfinished in the finale of the TV series, and after all these years, creator Vince Gilligan decided it was time to check back in and see what happened in the days after his escape.

Other than El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, other highlights this week include Cardi B. and T.I.’s new competition show Rhythm + Flow, and the fifth season of Schitt’s Creek. Sadly, anime fans will lose both Little Witch Academia and Sword Art Online II: Season 1 this week, so watch while you can.

NASA just joined the electric vehicle revolution

As automakers continue to embrace electric vehicles and more companies pledge to purge their vehicle lineups of gas engines in the coming years, the trend has finally caught on at NASA. NASA doesn’t sell cars, of course, but the space agency does use many fuel-burning machines across its various projects, and its new X-57 Maxwell aircraft is a sign that change is afoot.

The X-57 is an all-electric experimental aircraft that has been in the works for some time. This model was built by ESAero, and as NASA explains in a new blog post, it’s essentially a retrofit on an aircraft design that originally had traditional combustion engines.

Fireballs spotted above Chile defy explanation

%name Fireballs spotted above Chile defy explanation by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When we Earthlings spot something tearing through the sky in a blaze of glory, there’s almost always a totally reasonable explanation. More often than not, tiny chunks of space rock are the culprit, and when they slam into Earth’s atmosphere the friction is enough to set them ablaze. A recent fireball sighting in Chile is apparently not as easy to explain, and scientists still aren’t sure exactly what they saw.

As LiveScience reports, multiple fireballs lit up the skies in Chile just last week, and at the time it was assumed they were meteorites. A handful of the fireballs survived long enough to hit the ground, and when they did, they sparked small blazes that were quickly extinguished by firefighters.
