Earlier this week, a China-based smartphone company called Xiaomi unveiled an intriguing new handset called the Mi Mix Alpha. It has a design that’s unlike anything the world has ever seen before, and people when nuts when they first saw it. As you can see in the image above, the Mi Mix Alpha features a curved OLED screen like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 or the OnePlus 7 Pro. Instead of just curving a bit on both edges, however, the display on the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha wraps around both sides and extends all the way to the back of the phone. Here’s what the back of the Mi Mix Alpha looks like:

Huge Marvel fan Kevin Smith explains exactly why Sony’s ‘Spider-Man 3’ will suck without the MCU

%name Huge Marvel fan Kevin Smith explains exactly why Sony’s ‘Spider Man 3’ will suck without the MCU by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Spider-Man 3 is already in the works, with a first draft script already available, and we’ve found that out in the wake of the nasty Sony-Disney divorce, after which the former got the custody over Peter Parker. Sony, of course, is forced to make new Spider-Man films every few years to keep the movie rights for the character, and it apparently thinks it can replicate the Far From Home success without any MCU ties. We’ve told you a bunch of times that what made the last two Spider-Man flicks so enjoyable was the inclusion in the massive MCU storyline, something that’s never been done before in movie history, and certainly something Sony never attempted to do on its own. If you’re still hopeful that the third film in the new Spider-Man trilogy will somehow be just as good as the first two, even if there won’t be any other MCU characters in it, then you’re more optimistic about the future of your favorite hero than one of the biggest Marvel fans out there.

Leak reveals new details about a great Pixel 4 feature you won’t find on the iPhone 11

%name Leak reveals new details about a great Pixel 4 feature you won’t find on the iPhone 11 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google was never able to keep Nexus and Pixel phones secret, if it even wanted to, and Pixel 4 is no exception. But unlike in previous years, Google has come forward with revealing teasers and a full Pixel 4 announcement several months before the October Pixel press conference. The search giant confirmed the Pixel 4’s rear camera design, as well as the front-facing 3D face recognition camera and Motion Sense features. The latter is something that’s not available on any other iPhone, a device that served as Google’s primary source of inspiration for all Pixel phones so far.

That’s because Motion Sense is actually the marketing moniker Google gave to its Project Soli system, which uses radar to detect motion and convert it into actions on a device. The Pixel 4 will have a Soli radar, which means you’ll be able to interact with the phone without touching it. If that sounds familiar, that’s because smartphone makers including LG and Huawei have their own ideas for touch-free smartphone interaction, although none of them uses radar. That said, some Motion Sense details have leaked ahead of Google’s October 15th media event straight from the Pixel 4 app.

Robert De Niro will be 20 years old again in ‘The Irishman’ thanks to crazy de-aging tech

%name Robert De Niro will be 20 years old again in ‘The Irishman’ thanks to crazy de aging tech by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

I’ve been waiting for The Irishman for a few years, and the mobster movie based on real-life events is almost here. The film will hit theaters on November 1st, some three weeks before its streaming debut on Netflix on November 27th. The movie tells the story of Frank Sheeran, a hitman for the mob who supposedly killed Jimmy Hoffa and confessed to it on his deathbed.

Robert De Niro, who has been attached to the project for years, will play Frank in the movie — from his 20s, when Sheeran was deployed in Europe during the World War II, through all the events in Frank’s life that followed after the war. Thanks to de-aging technology, De Niro was able to act in all of those scenes, and we’re going to see a young version of the actor again when the movie premieres this fall, as you can see in the image above.

Xbox Games with Gold for October adds ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘Ninja Gaiden 3’

Sony has been on an absolute tear when it comes to free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in recent months, but Microsoft is trending in the other direction. The one title you totally have to grab this month is Friday the 13th: The Game, which is one of the most thrilling online multiplayer games of the past few years. Tembo the Badass Elephant also got good reviews, and it’s from the same developer that made Pokemon, believe it or not.

The Xbox 360 freebies include a movie tie-in game and a port of a Wii U game. But if you want to play the last entry in the main Ninja Gaiden series, you may as well pick up Razor’s Edge while it’s free.

Astronomers spot a trio of black holes on a devastating collision course

%name Astronomers spot a trio of black holes on a devastating collision course by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Black holes are one of the most interesting features of our universe. So incredibly dense that their gravitational pull can swallow up light itself, they are enormously powerful on their own, but when three of them get together? Well, that’s a recipe for some serious fireworks.

As NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory explains in a new post, astronomers using powerful imaging hardware, including three of NASA’s own telescopes, have spotted a trio of black holes in the midst of a cosmic dance. The holes were spotted in a distant galactic collision that could offer hints at the fate that awaits our own Milky Way.

Scientists just proved that life on Earth stretches back at least 3.5 billion years

%name Scientists just proved that life on Earth stretches back at least 3.5 billion years by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Determining how far back in Earth’s history life took root has been an immense challenge for scientists over the years. Finding fossils dating back tens of millions of years can be difficult, but when the timeline stretches to several billion years? Well, let’s just say it’s exponentially harder.

Now, researchers from the University of New South Wales in Australia have discovered what appears to be indisputable evidence of microbial life dating back a whopping 3.5 billion years. The tiny ancient fossils found within some of Earth’s oldest rocks are helping to support the notion that life on our planet began billions of years before humans began looking back in time.

Despite some well-publicized problems with early Model 3 production, Tesla over the past few months has picked up the pace considerably. Indeed, Tesla over the past few quarters has made impressive production strides across the entirety of its product line.

During the most recent quarter, for example, Tesla managed to deliver 95,200 vehicles to customers across the globe, a figure which set a new quarterly record for the electric automaker. Naturally, the figure was achieved on the strength of impressive Model 3 sales. And now comes word that Tesla during the current quarter might manage to eclipse even that figure.
