I’m more excited about the iPhone 11 than I’ve been for a new iPhone release in quite some time. Sure, the introduction of Face ID and a larger OLED display on the iPhone X was cool, but it’s not as if Touch ID was much of an inconvenience. So what has me pumped for the iPhone 11 given that it’s essentially the same form factor we’ve seen over the last two release cycles? It all boils down to the camera.

While camera quality on the iPhone has improved markedly over the years, the camera technology and features Apple managed to jam-pack into the iPhone 11 is incredibly impressive and downright intriguing. The early iPhone 11 reviews have all been overwhelmingly positive, with quite a few reviewers confidently stating that the iPhone 11 Pro has the best smartphone camera on the market.

Huawei on Thursday held a press conference in Munich, Germany to unveil its third flagship phone of the year — and it’s easily the most compelling one. Part of the Mate 30 series, the Mate 30 Pro is the best Huawei Android phone ever made, and it’s probably the best Android phones of the year. Or at least it would’ve been, if not for a major problem.

The successor of the Mate 20 Pro has quite a few interesting features, many of them not even available on competing devices, whether they’re iPhone or Android handsets. But unlike last year, the Mate 30 Pro has one massive drawback: it doesn’t come with Google’s Android apps built-in, and that’s all because of the ban the US imposed on the Chinese smartphone maker. In other words, even if you could purchase it in the US and Europe, you might not want to do it given that you’re not going to get the Android experience you expect.

Ho… ly… smokes! After a somewhat slow month in September with only 41 new original movies and shows set to be released, Netflix is really cranking up the volume in October. Before we get to the whopping 67 new Netflix original movies, shows, and specials set to debut next month, however, we need to make sure you don’t miss anything important this month. There might only be 41 new original titles debuting in September, but some of them are hotly anticipated and you can check out the full September release schedule to make sure you don’t miss anything big like The Spy, Unbelievable, or the dark comedy The Politician.

Once October rolls around, Netflix subscribers really have their work cut out for them. The Netflix original releases blast off right out of the gate with a new season of Carmen Sandiego and a new Nikki Glaser stand-up comedy special both premiering on October 1st, followed by 12 more releases during the first week of October alone. The star of the show that week is of course Peaky Blinders season 5, which will be released in its entirety on Friday, October 4th.

The rest of October is jam-packed with new Netflix originals including new movies, new seasons of fan-favorite shows, premieres of new shows, and even an Arsenio Hall stand-up special toward the end of the month. Of course, there’s one title we’re looking forward to more than anything else, and it has been the talk of the internet for quite some time now. That’s right, we’re talking about El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, the Breaking Bad prequel film that’s set to hit Netflix on Friday, October 11th.

Apple’s new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max will finally be released tomorrow after months and months of leaks. When the next-generation iPhones finally do start hitting mailboxes and store shelves around the country and around the world on Friday, there are three main things people will be talking about. First, a relatively small number of very loud people on social media will whine incessantly about the new square camera bump on the back of Apple’s iPhone 11 models. These complaints are quite frankly stupid, and we already explained why in some earlier coverage. Don’t worry, you can just ignore the whiners and they’ll be gone before you know it.

The other two things people will be talking about non-stop come Friday are positives. First, social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will be flooded with photos shot using the new Night mode feature on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Night mode is Apple’s answer to “Night Sight” on Google’s Pixel phones. It’s a nifty camera feature that uses AI to instantly stitch together multiple photos at different exposures. The result is low-light photography that is shockingly bright and clear, and we already showed you some mind-blowing examples.

Battery life is the last thing people will be talking about since Apple gave all three of its new iPhone 11 models a huge boost in that department. But there’s something else lurking inside the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max that won’t get quite as much attention, and yet it’s as impressive or perhaps even more impressive than anything else we’ve discussed so far.

Just over a week after Apple unveiled the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro in California, the second-largest smartphone maker in the world is set to unveil its own next-gen flagships. On Thursday, September 19th, Huawei will unveil both the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro handsets at a global launch event in Munich, Germany. The event kicks off at 2 PM in Germany, which means the stream begins at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET in the United States.

Like every other major smartphone on the market, the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro have each been thoroughly spoiled ahead of their official reveal, as leaks and reports have betrayed the specifications, features, and design details of the phones. There will apparently be four models in all, with 5G support and upgraded cameras expected to highlight the changes. The question is whether or not the phones will ever launch in the US.

It took a significant location tracking scandal for Google to actually do something about the user’s privacy when it comes to location tracking. After a report called Google out for misleading users who thought their location data wouldn’t be collected because of the way they set up location permissions, Google came up with fixes. Now you can stop Google from tracking you, except for those apps where location data is paramount — think Google Maps and Waze. Also, Google added better privacy features in Android 10, which deal with location data as well — freaking out Facebook in the process. On top of that, Google is about to make Google Maps even more private, if that’s something you want from the app. The company is bringing Incognito Mode to Google Maps, and the feature is already in testing.
