Illinois teen’s memory resets every two hours after head injury

%name Illinois teen’s memory resets every two hours after head injury by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Of all the types of injuries a person can sustain, head injuries tend to be the scariest. Scientists have learned a lot about how the human brain works, but there are still many uncertainties. That’s especially true when it comes to brain injuries, where a person can appear medically healthy but still exhibit dramatic cognitive symptoms.

16-year-old Riley Horner was a happy, healthy Illinois teen when she was struck in the head on June 11th of this year. Her injury — an accidental kick in the head from a fellow student who was crowd surfing at an event — resulted in what doctors initially believed was a concussion, but every day since, she’s woken up believing it was June 11th.

‘Seinfeld’ will start streaming on Netflix in 2021

%name ‘Seinfeld’ will start streaming on Netflix in 2021 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Netflix over the next two years will lose two of its more widely streamed programs; Friends will be out the door in 2020 and The Office will be gone by 2021. In light of that, the streaming giant recently opted to open up its pocketbook and write a hefty check for the worldwide streaming rights to Seinfeld.

All 180 episodes of Seinfeld will debut on Netflix beginning in 2021, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. While it remains unclear how much Netflix paid for Seinfeld, it stands to reason it was immense. Consider this: Hulu a few years back paid $150 million for the rights to Seinfeld solely for domestic streaming.

Nearly a year after bringing Generation 4 Pokemon from the Sinnoh region to Pokemon Go, Niantic is expanding the game’s PokeDex once again this week with the addition of creatures from Unova. I used to be a big fan of Apple’s AirPods, but that was before I tried any other true wireless earphones. Since then, I simply can’t go back to AirPods. Since they don’t have silicone tips, they don’t isolate sound so all the bass leaks out. What’s the point of having earbuds with great sound quality if it all leaks? If you want a pair of buds that fixes this obvious design flaw at a fraction of the price of AirPods, definitely check out the SoundPEATS TrueFree True Wireless Earbuds while they’re discounted on Amazon.

Apple Arcade hands-on preview: Five games that will make the service worth $5 a month

%name Apple Arcade hands on preview: Five games that will make the service worth $5 a month by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When Apple first announced Apple Arcade back in March, I was thoroughly confused. It wasn’t quite as baffling of a concept as Apple TV+, but I couldn’t figure out who the intended audience was meant to be. Was Apple targeting core gamers? Because no matter what the price ended up being, their appetite for mobile games seems to be limited. Or is Apple aiming for a more casual crowd? If so, the lineup of games doesn’t really reflect that.

But after getting my hands on some of the titles that will be available on Apple Arcade at or around launch, and seeing the service itself in action, my opinion of Apple’s gaming-centric service has shifted dramatically.

One of Samsung’s most beloved flagship smartphone lines might disappear next year

%name One of Samsung’s most beloved flagship smartphone lines might disappear next year by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When Samsung unveiled the first Galaxy Note phablet at IFA 2011, the phone became an instant hit with consumers who wanted a device with a bigger screen. Over the years, however, various tech advances allowed smartphone vendors to create smartphones with increasingly smaller bezels, including devices that had the same or bigger displays than the latest Galaxy Note phones — the Galaxy S10 is a great example. It’s no wonder we’ve heard over the years that Samsung might merge the two device lines, which are now almost identical aside from the S Pen and special stylus features that come bundled with the Note.

Samsung has denied such reports in the past and proved it had plenty of faith in the Note brand in spite of the Note 7 misstep. But a well-known leaker now says that Samsung is actively considering uniting the S and Note brands as soon as next year. Also, the company may replace the annual Note release in the second half of the year with a next-gen foldable device that would essentially become Samsung’s annual flagship for the second half of each year.
