Motorola’s foldable Razr phone will launch by the end of the year

A few months ago, it really seemed like 2019 would be the year of the foldable smartphones. Samsung and Huawei had just unveiled the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, and several companies teased their foldable projects. Among them was Lenovo’s Motorola, which revealed that a foldable device of its own would hit the market around the same time with other brands. The hint seemed to be clear at the time.

The new Motorola Razr, a device that was already present in foldable smartphone rumors, would compete against the Fold and Mate X. But then Samsung and Huawei both delayed their foldable handsets, with Samsung having to deal with an embarrassing launch cancelation in April in light of the Fold’s durability issues. September is almost here, and the Galaxy Fold and Mate X are still not available in stores. Unsurprisingly, the Razr foldable hasn’t been announced either, and we’ve seen little of it in reports. But it turns out the phone might still launch this year, possibly in time for the holiday shopping season.

This video of ‘Stranger Things 3’ Easter eggs will blow your mind

Stranger Things is one of those rare shows that emerged out of nowhere, with little to no hype, and quickly became a mainstream sensation. Since the series debuted a little more than three years ago, the engaging sci-fi show has long been one of Netflix’s most-viewed programs.

The first season was categorized by many as an “instant classic,” and deservedly so. All the more impressive is that the second season of the show managed to live up to the level of quality ushered in by the first. That said, when Stranger Things 3 premiered earlier this summer, I was a little bit skeptical that the show would be able to capture the magic that made the first two seasons so great without treading upon familiar tropes and plot lines.

Scientists found stardust in the most unlikely of places

Earth has managed to avoid any truly catastrophic impacts from objects in space for quite some time, but that doesn’t mean material from the cosmos doesn’t regularly rain down on our world. Scientists regularly observe rocks of varying sizes streaking through Earth’s atmosphere.

Most of the time, the material that makes its way to the ground is similar to the material that makes up our planet and most others in our solar system, but a new study published in Physical Review Letters reveals that material from outside our system has been accumulating on our planet as well.

Marvel may pull out of future Spider-Man movies over a stupid money disagreement

For any Marvel fans out there who may not have been paying attention, the last several days have generated a whiplash-inducing series of news related to the more-successful-than-ever Spider-Man movie franchise.

We say more successful than ever because it was only a few days ago that the most recent installment in the franchise, Spider-Man: Far From Home, became the first Spider-Man movie to hit $1 billion at the box office. Not only that, but it was also reported this week that Far From Home is now Sony’s highest-grossing movie of all time (Sony, being Marvel’s co-producing partner for Spider-Man).

Apple TV+ vs. Disney+: Everything we know about the next big streaming services

%name Apple TV+ vs. Disney+: Everything we know about the next big streaming services by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

November is shaping up to be an extremely newsworthy month as far as streaming TV goes, with all-new streaming TV services set to launch during the month from both Apple and Disney — two companies that will be diving into Netflix-like territory for the first time. With both companies taking very different paths to get there.

This all comes as Netflix and HBO refuse to cede any ground in the streaming wars and continue spending billions on content both commissioned and licensed. And HBO, in fact, is also about to be the centerpiece of yet another new streaming video service, HBO Max — which we point out only to reiterate that consumers will soon be drowning in choices, if they aren’t already.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is coming back to theaters with extra footage

It’s hard to believe that we will be waiting over ten months between Marvel movie releases, but with Black Widow currently slated to launch on May 1st, 2020, that’s how long it will have been since Spider-Man: Far From Home hit theaters when Phase 4 begins. That’s a hard pill to swallow when Marvel Studios has been releasing three movies a year every year since 2017, but if you’re desperate to see a Marvel superhero on the big screen again sooner than next spring, Sony is going to give you an excuse to head back to the theater next week.

Mars was once warm and rainy before turning frigid, study finds

%name Mars was once warm and rainy before turning frigid, study finds by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Scientists have learned a lot about Mars in recent years, and based on observations from the fancy hardware NASA has sent to the Red Planet we know that it once held far more water than we see today. But knowing there was lots of water (or at least abundant ice) on Mars long ago doesn’t necessarily tell us what the climate was like.

Without a time machine, we can’t know exactly what ancient Mars looked like, but researchers have come up with a pretty solid guess. Using data from NASA’s CRISM spectrometer and the Curiosity rover, scientists have a good idea of what kinds of minerals are present in the Martian soil. Using various areas of Earth as analogs, they can observe the conditions that caused similar mineral deposition patterns on our planet and assume that similar climates were responsible for their formation on Mars as well.
