Huge iPhone 11 leak reveals surprising new details no one expected

%name Huge iPhone 11 leak reveals surprising new details no one expected by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In all likelihood, we’re now less than one month away from Apple’s big press conference at which it will finally unveil the iPhone 11 series. Now believed to be named the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max (ugh), Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup is expected to be announced on either September 10th or September 11th. Where did we come up with those potential dates for Apple’s big iPhone 11 event? An executive at one of Apple’s premier wireless carrier partners slipped up and revealed that the iPhone 11 series will be released on Friday, September 20th. Apple always announces its new iPhones about a week and a half before they’re released, and then preorders should open on the following Friday, which in this case falls on September 13th. In other words, if you want to make sure you have the new iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro model of your choice on launch day, you can already set an alarm for 12:00 AM PT on the 13th and get ready for the drill Apple fans know all too well.

Since we’re so close to Apple’s big iPhone 11 announcement, tons of information about the new smartphone series has already leaked. We know that this year’s iPhone 11 models are going to look exactly like the iPhone XS series from last year on the front, and then the back will have a new square camera bump. The entry-level iPhone 11 will sport a dual-lens rear camera in that big square bump, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will feature a triple-lens camera. We know plenty more about Apple’s upcoming new iPhones as well, but a big new leak may have just revealed several surprising details that no one was expecting.

The only foldable smartphone worth buying in 2019 has been delayed to November, and we have no idea why

%name The only foldable smartphone worth buying in 2019 has been delayed to November, and we have no idea why by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s mid-August of 2019, and foldable phones are still not available in stores. Sure, they’d be very expensive, starting at least twice the price of the Galaxy Note 10+ or iPhone XS, but they should have been selling for months. Samsung delayed the Galaxy Fold to fix it, and now that it’s fixed it’s still not available to buyers. Huawei’s Mate X, which looks even better than Samsung’s phone — and it’s also more expensive — should have launched this summer, according to recent reports. That’s no longer the case, and Huawei might launch it as late as November this year. Why? We have no real answer.

Actually using 45W fast charging on the Galaxy Note 10+ might be a real pain

%name Actually using 45W fast charging on the Galaxy Note 10+ might be a real pain by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Galaxy Note 10 phones come with faster charging speeds than almost all Samsung phones to date. That’s 25W wired charging that proved to be even quicker in real-life tests than 30W charging speeds of the OnePlus 7 Pro. The Note 10+ needed just 65 minutes to reach a full charge using the 25W charger that ships in the box. The Note 10+, however, can also support 45W charging speeds, which means it can recharge even faster than that. To take advantage of the new technology, you’ll have to spend $50 extra on Samsung’s 45W charger. Other USB-C chargers might not work, even if you already own one.

Samsung patents yet another foldable phone design while we still await the Galaxy Fold

%name Samsung patents yet another foldable phone design while we still await the Galaxy Fold by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

One of the highest-profile tech stories of 2019 so far involves a product that’s about a month or so from launch, and which was supposed to have already launched earlier this year until embarrassing mistakes squelched that possibility. We’re talking, of course, about Samsung’s $2,000 Galaxy Fold that will present consumers with an entirely new smartphone form factor – at least, those consumers who aren’t turned off by the ridiculously expensive price tag and the fact that it folds and is being launched with the promise that earlier design flubs have been addressed.

Baby Jupiter was smacked by a planet 4.5 billion years ago

%name Baby Jupiter was smacked by a planet 4.5 billion years ago by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Jupiter has long been hailed as the mighty “king of planets” thanks to its massive size compared to most of the other planets in our solar system. It’s huge, and it’s mostly made of gas, making it difficult for scientists to know what lies deep beneath its thick cloud cover.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has been studying the planet in detail for over eight years now, and it’s returned some surprising observations about the planet’s core. Now, a new study from an international team of researchers may offer an explanation.

Huawei employees reportedly caught helping African governments spy on opposition

%name Huawei employees reportedly caught helping African governments spy on opposition by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Well, the US now has yet another reported case of espionage-related misdeeds it can point to as additional proof of why the Huawei ban should remain in place.

The Chinese consumer electronics giant is under scrutiny again, this time over a Wall Street Journal report that found some of its employees helped governments in African keep tabs on political opposition using cell data to spy on their movements. Reportedly, those Huawei technicians also helped the governments track social media accounts and intercept encrypted communications.

Installing an SSD in a Windows 10 laptop is both the best and worst upgrade I’ve ever done

%name Installing an SSD in a Windows 10 laptop is both the best and worst upgrade I’ve ever done by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As the designated tech guy around the house, I knew even before my parents told me that their Windows 10 laptop is getting slower and slower that I had to swap the original hard drive with one of the solid-state variety, or SSD as they’re called. Having done the same thing to MacBook Pros years ago, I also knew what an SSD could do for them. Windows 10 would run a lot better for their needs, which involve light browsing, Netflix streaming, and the like. And I could postpone the inevitable switch to macOS. After all, they know their way around Windows well enough, so I don’t have to worry about them adapting to macOS.

Little did I know that the upgrade wouldn’t be done in a few hours, and that it’d turn out to be the best and worst laptop upgrade I ever attempted. Spoiler alert, it’s all because of Windows 10, not the laptop or the SSD.
