Spring may already be in our rear-view mirror but NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope is still in the mood for things that bloom. In a new post, NASA showcases a recent snapshot of a galaxy called NGC 972 which was captured by the powerful telescope.

The galaxy is in the midst of a growth spurt, with new stars heating up clouds of hydrogen gas and creating a warm glow. The galaxy was first spotted way back in 1784 when astronomer William Herschel is credited with its discovery, but he couldn’t possibly have dreamed of getting a view as good as this one.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is out in theaters, which means we’re getting closer to Marvel revealing what’s coming next in the next phase of its cinematic universe. We already have dates for the eight upcoming MCU Phase 4 films, as well as several leaks that have detailed plot details for a few of them.

Marvel has yet to announce anything, but the man responsible for the MCU just gave the world a massive teaser about Spider-Man 3, while practically confirming that there will be a third part of the MCU Spider-Man franchise. The Stranger Things writers sure had a lot of fun this time around with all of the Easter eggs, pop culture references and the like that they packed into the just-released third season of the hit Netflix series (Don’t worry, no spoilers below in case you’re still not caught up yet). And it’s not just the obvious stuff either, though it’s certainly fun to see everything from the primacy of the local mall to Star Wars references.

Tesla vehicles can do all sorts of impressive things performance-wise, but who knew that they were also adept at helping law enforcement authorities solve crimes? Just a few days after a Tesla dashcam video helped prove that a reckless driver was lying about an accident he caused, NBC Bay Area reports that video recorded from a Tesla helped police identify and arrest a suspect involved in a hit-and-run in Los Gatos, California.

The incident in question went down on July 4 and involves a pickup truck illegally crossing lines on a two-lane highway in an effort zoom ahead of a Tesla. Upon trying to merge back into the proper lane, however, the truck rams into the Tesla and then proceeds to speed up and zoom off.

SpaceX has had an incredibly busy year thus far, with a steady series of rocket launches and new initiatives like Starlink in the very earliest stages, and all the while the Starship project looming over it all. Starship is SpaceX’s future-looking rocket platform that could one day ferry travelers to Mars and beyond, and in a series of tweets over the weekend, CEO Elon Musk offered a few hints as to how things are progressing.

Apple is apparently considering doubling down on biometric authentication, as 9to5Mac reports that iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and macOS Catalina beta testers have been given the option to sign in to their iCloud.com accounts using either Face ID or Touch ID, depending on which device they’re using to access the site.

As long as you’ve installed one of the latest Apple beta software releases on your device, you should be greeted by a pop-up when you visit beta.icloud.com from the Safari browser asking if you’d prefer to sign in with biometrics. If your device has Face ID, you will be prompted to show your face, while those with Touch ID devices (including MacBook Pro with Touch Bar owners) can use their fingerprint to sign in with their Apple ID.

Six days after the latest iOS 13 developer beta rolled out, Apple has released the new public beta, complete with all the features you missed if you don’t have a developer account. The surprise highlight of the update has been a new feature that uses augmented reality to make it look like you’re staring directly into the camera while on a FaceTime call, even if you’re looking at the screen (which is where you’re probably looking).

Other additions include a new animation to help you keep track of the active window in Split View, redesigned action buttons on the keyboard, the return of the Subscriptions button to the main Apple ID screen, full page screenshots in apps other than Safari, and a new icon for emergency contacts in the Contacts app.
