For residents of many southern U.S. states, alligator sightings are a common occurrence. The large reptiles love bodies of water of all sizes, and it’s not unusual to see one or several of them hanging out in ponds and lakes, but one particular gator is causing quite a stir in Fort Bend County, Texas.

As far as anyone can tell, the animal hasn’t caused any damage or posed a threat to locals, but it does sport one curious feature: a massive knife sticking straight out of its head. Now, locals are urging wildlife management officials to do something about the creature or, more specifically, give it a helping hand.

The modern TV landscape is starting to generate something of a first world problem among some harried viewers increasingly faced with a perplexing dilemma. Shows with runtimes of less than an hour seem to be few and far between these days. Thanks to Netflix and its fellow streamers, among other purveyors of prestige TV on cable networks, showrunners are also increasingly stretching their runtimes past the hour mark.

Shows like Game of Thrones, Chernobyl, Killing Eve — they’re great, I’m caught up on all of them and glad to be so. But you can’t deny they require some purposeful commitment and a divvying up of a smaller and smaller slice of your day, between the time you get home from work and when your head hits the pillow at night.

We’ve just seen them ruling New Asgard in Avengers: Endgame, but this weekend will bring us a new film starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. This time, they’re not Asgardians on Earth. They’re actually alien hunters, starring in the Men In Black reboot we’ve been waiting for.

There are also a couple of other action/comedy flicks launching this weekend. One is the brand new Shaft movie, and the other is a horror film called The Dead Don’t Die that looks a lot like Zombieland. The video game industry over the last two years came close to looking dramatically different, thanks to an Epic Games ex-director admitting that he actually tried to cancel the super popular Fortnite game before he left the company in 2012.
