When it comes to search, there’s really been only one name that has mattered for the last 15 ears: Google. And though Google remains the top search engine on the planet by a wide, wide margin, that’s not to say that there isn’t any competition. There is, of course, Microsoft’s Bing. Conan O’Brien’s gaming videos are always entertaining and this week’s video of him playing the upcoming Halo 5 against three cast members from HBO’s sitcom Silicon Valley is no exception. Halo 5, which is still months away from being released, has a terrific looking multiplayer mode that Conan played with Silicon Valley stars Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller and Zach Woods. Given how Conan is typically a pretty crappy gamer, you won’t be surprised to learn that he spends most of the video getting slaughtered by his rivals.

How much thinner can smartphones get? The iPhone 6 is 6.9 millimeters and the Galaxy S6 is 6.8 millimeters, but it looks like Samsung is taking things to a whole new level with a new device called the Galaxy A8. Nowhereelse.fr has posted some leaked pictures of the Galaxy A8 that show an extremely thin device that leaked specifications claim is just 5.9 millimeters thin, or a full millimeter thinner than the iPhone 6.

Business Insider points us to a chart created by Pacific Crest analyst Andy Hargreaves that shows Google search volume for the Apple Watch right now is actually lagging behind not only the iPhone and iPad, but the iPod as well.

New research has revealed why it took more than 30 million years for large Triassic dinosaurs to populate the tropics after they first appeared on Earth, ending a mystery that has kept researchers baffled for decades. Using new geological evidence culled from Ghost Ranch, N.M., researchers from the University of Southampton in the U.K. have found that an extremely unpredictable hot and arid climate due to elevated carbon dioxide levels (four to six times of what they are today) kept large herbivorous dinos at bay until after 200 million years ago.

If there’s one thing Americans love to do, it’s to bash successful franchises that also get caught cheating to gain an edge over their opponents. St. Louis Cardinals fans are getting their first dose of this phenomenon this week after The New York Times reported that the FBI is investigating whether Cardinals employees illegally hacked into the computer systems of the rival Houston Astros to steal “internal discussions about trades, proprietary statistics and scouting reports,” among other things.
