It looks like there’s an insult even worse than “Apple Maps bad,” and that’s “Tidal launch bad.” Mashable’s Chris Taylor is a self-described “card-carrying Apple fanboy” who found himself completely appalled by Apple’s big Apple Music reveal on Monday. In fact, he thought it was so bad that it warranted a dreaded comparison to the launch of Jay-Z’s Tidal.

One of my personal favorite YouTube channels over the past several years has been Schmoyoho, creators of the acclaimed Auto-Tune the News series and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme song. Two years after its unveiling, the next Mirror’s Edge finally has a name. On Tuesday, developer DICE announced that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be the name of the team’s next project, but also took the time to specify that Catalyst will not be a sequel to the original game.

If you loved the design of last year’s BlackBerry Passport, it looks like BlackBerry has something even better in the works. N4BB has obtained some pictures of a device called the BlackBerry Oslo that appears to be a redesigned BlackBerry Passport that smooths out a lot of the original device’s rough edges. And we mean that literally — one of the most striking things about the Oslo is that it now features smoother, rounder corners and edges compared to the sharp and boxy Passport, as you’ll see in the picture below.

Following yesterday’s WWDC event, Apple confirmed to Re/Code that it’s upcoming Apple Music service will let users download songs and videos for offline listening and viewing.
Though not an entirely new or revolutionary feature, it does help Apple Music reach feature parity with Spotify as the company hopes to make an immediate and impactful dent in the music streaming market.

After launching on PS4 last year, the PlayStation Now game streaming service is slowly making its way to a wider range of platforms. Starting on Tuesday, owners of select Samsung smart TVs will be able to stream PS3 games without a video game console, although a DualShock 4 controller is required to play.

Samsung’s rugged Galaxy S6 Active got officially unveiled on Monday, but not every Samsung fan is happy. SamMobile’s Abhijeet M., for instance, thinks that Samsung giving the S6 Active a comparatively big 3,550mAh battery is an “insult” to every customer who bought a Galaxy S6 with its 2,550mAh battery earlier this year.

While Research in Motion certainly made many strategic missteps over the years, it never really had a shot at going toe-to-toe against Apple and Google in the consumer smartphone wars. Ex-RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie on Tuesday gave a talk at The Empire Club of Canada in which he gave a brutally frank assessment of his former company’s downfall as a major power in the phone industry.

During Apple’s WWDC keynote this week, Apple saved its “one more thing” moment to introduce Apple Music, the company’s unique twist on streaming music. While Apple Music will serve up music on demand much like Spotify, it also brings with it a number of other features that rivals lack, the most prominent such example being a worldwide radio station Apple is calling Beats 1.
