iOS 9 is coming later this year but Apple still isn’t done releasing new versions of iOS 8 just yet. Apple on Tuesday released its fourth beta for iOS 8.4, which will be the first version of iOS to include support for Apple’s recently announced Apple Music streaming service. The new beta, which is available over at Apple’s developer center right now, focuses on integrating Apple Music into iOS, just as all previous betas of iOS 8.4 have done.

I’ll say this for Apple Music: I think it will do a lot better than Tidal. OK, so beyond the obvious, I think Apple Music will actually do pretty well. After all, it’s going to come preloaded onto the most popular individual smartphone in the world and it’s going to be marketed to a customer base that is fanatically loyal to its favorite brand, including some who have proclaimed they’ll buy “ANYTHING” Apple makes. The bottom line is it’s going to be successful.

Apple says iOS 9 will offer you “a better experience with every touch,” on the special iOS 9 page on its website, stressing that the newly introduced update focuses on bringing performance improvements rather than major new features. It is not at all hyperbole to say that the DARPA Robotics Challenge gives us a glimpse of the future. Robotics experts come together to have their hi-tech creations compete on a course that simulates a disaster area. As a result of efforts like these, robots will someday assist men and women in emergency response situations, helping to remove them from harm’s way whenever possible.
As it turns out, however, there are some hilarious bloopers to enjoy on the road to realizing that future.

Beginning this week, over 9 million high school students in China will sit down for a test called the Gaokao, an exam similar in nature to the SAT. As China’s University entrance exam, the Gaokao, otherwise known as the Higher Education Exam, is both high stakes and high pressure as it helps determine which tier of University each student can attend. As CNN points out, “failure means no degree, poorer job prospects and possibly a life of regret.”
With so much on the line, some students over the years have increasingly turned to high-tech cheating in order to improve their scores.

Apple Maps is in the process of getting a huge update in iOS 9, as Apple revealed on stage during its big WWDC 2015 keynote on Monday. The new public transit features look terrific and there are plenty of other new features and refinements to be enjoyed, but the app still isn’t on par with Google Maps. In fact, in many ways, it may never be.
Google Maps for iOS just received a new update and there are a few nice feature additions to be found. Among them is one that is likely the best new feature the app has received in months, and we’re going to tell you all about it.

You know the drill: every time Apple or Google announce major new updates for their operating systems, some people, including diehard fans of each platform, are quick to point out that some of the new features have been copied from the other side.
