Brand new Pixel 4 leak seems to confirm the phone’s main specs

We have about six months to wait until Google launches its next-gen Android handsets, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been treated to a bunch of Pixel 4 leaks so far. The alleged design of the Pixel 4 was already spotted in a patent application, and plenty of concept images have tried to imagine what Google will do next with the Pixel line. On top of that, even Googlers referred to the phone as the “Pixel 4” on forums that others can easily inspect, suggesting that prototypes of the device are already out in the wild. A brand new leak gives us a new instrument we can use to look for Pixel 4 traces while we wait for Google to release the phone, the purported codenames of the phones.

New leak says Samsung will launch two distinct Galaxy Note 10 phones this year

A series of leaks claimed in the past few weeks that Samsung would launch not one, but two Galaxy Note 10 devices, something the company hasn’t really done with the Note line, except for the year when it used the Note series to launch an “edge” screen model. Since then, we heard that Samsung would have four Note 10 in stores this summer, including two LTE and two 5G devices. A new report seems to confirm that Samsung will launch two distinct Galaxy Note 10 versions this year and that each of them will have a 5G version.

Dead alligator is devoured by giant ‘pill bugs’ on the sea floor in creepy video

When an animal dies in a forest or field its body usually becomes food for scavengers large and small. Sometimes that includes larger animals like vultures or wild dogs, but it’s usually insects that are left to clean up the last bits of tissue. The bottom of the sea is no different and, as a new video from the Gulf of Mexico reveals, there’s always something waiting for a free meal.

Scientists from LUMCON were studying the effects of “food falls” in the sea, providing marine scavengers with a feast by dropping dead alligators into the Gulf and then observing the results. The video they captured is equal parts science and nightmare fuel.

It’s not quite Wall-E, but MIT’s recycling robot can detect paper, plastic, and metal by touch

%name It’s not quite Wall E, but MIT’s recycling robot can detect paper, plastic, and metal by touch by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Automating recycling seems like the smart thing to do when considering the incredible amount of waste we humans produce every year. But robots can’t easily tell materials apart just by looking at them with the help of cameras. That’s why sifting through piles of recycled material that can include paper, plastic, and metal is often a laborious task for machines.

But MIT’s RoCycle robot concept can tell paper from plastic and metal and dispose of the objects fed to it accordingly. The robot does all of this without cameras, but rather the help of sensors embedded in hands-like arms — akin to human touch, one might say.

Why didn’t scientists photograph the black hole at the center of the Milky Way?

%name Why didn’t scientists photograph the black hole at the center of the Milky Way? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After years of work and a whole lot of hype, researchers working with the Event Horizon Telescope project finally unveiled the very first image ever captured of an actual black hole this week. The relatively low-res image was nonetheless fantastic, and the fact that scientists were able to capture an image of the black hole from a distance of approximately 55 million light-years away is absolutely mind-boggling.

But wait, we live in the Milky Way galaxy, and at the center of it is what scientist believe is a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A*. Our galaxy is only around 150,000 to 200,000 light years across, so wouldn’t it have been a whole lot easier to just photograph our own black hole instead?

We already knew the streaming wars were going to get a lot more interesting this fall, and at an investor day presentation this afternoon from its headquarters in Burbank, California, Disney finally unveiled a pretty detailed look at the Netflix rival its set to launch this fall, starting November 12.

That’s the day when Disney will begin offering its Disney+ streaming service for $6.99 a month, undercutting Netflix’s most basic plan by a couple of dollars, and there will also be a slightly discounted Disney+ yearly subscription option that costs $69.99.

New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ teaser shows that the survivors will split into teams

%name New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ teaser shows that the survivors will split into teams by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

At this point, most of us don’t need any convincing to buy a ticket for Avengers: Endgame on opening weekend (as the early ticket sales have shown), but that hasn’t stopped Marvel Studios from tantalizing us with new footage every few days. On Thursday, Marvel released yet another TV spot on its YouTube channel, but unlike the other 30-second spots, this one actually had some new footage as well as some plot details.

The part of the teaser we’re most interested in comes at the beginning — a line of dialogue in which Captain America says to the surviving Avengers: “You know your teams. You know your missions.” This is the first we’re hearing about teams, but it sounds like the heroes who survived the snap are splitting up in Endgame.

SpaceX is going to try to launch its Falcon Heavy yet again – watch it live here

%name SpaceX is going to try to launch its Falcon Heavy yet again – watch it live here by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s been a rough week for the folks at SpaceX. The second-ever launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket was supposed to happen on Sunday, and then again on Tuesday, and yet again on Wednesday. Needless to say, none of those dates fit the bill, with most of the delays related to poor weather conditions.

Now, SpaceX is hoping that the fourth time is the charm, and it has another launch window scheduled for today at 6:35 p.m. EST. As before, the launch could take place at any time over a window of about three hours, but if SpaceX does indeed manage to launch its massive rocket today you’ll be able to watch it live right here.

LG trademarks a rollable display because weird smartphones are apparently the future

%name LG trademarks a rollable display because weird smartphones are apparently the future by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Time was, it would have seemed utterly bizarre to think a smartphone manufacturer as big and mainstream as Samsung would bring a handset to market with a screen that folds and is targeted toward big spenders. And yet we’re about to cross that bridge, with Samsung having announced today that some US customers will be able to reserve the upcoming Galaxy Fold as early as April 12 ahead of its April 26 availability.

So keep that in mind when you ponder how weird it sounds that LG, which apparently thinks weird smartphones are the future, is not only working on a few different foldable handsets (including one with a transparent display), but based on newly filed trademarks, it’s also working on a rollable display that could be used in future phones.
