When it was revealed last week that Avengers: Endgame is officially going to be the longest Marvel movie at just over three hours, the news predictably garnered a wave of headlines. All of which essentially boiled down to general amazement at the length, with the inclusion of jokes about settling in for a while, because oh my god this is going to be a long movie. And so on.

If Endgame sounds unnecessarily long to you, though, at least you can rest assured that the filmmakers have detailed a pretty good reason for why it has to be so long. And the reason is basically — you.

With the just-released results of its latest speed test measuring the fastest wireless network in America, Ookla has shaken up the familiar pattern we tend to see play out from one quarter to the next. Ookla as well as OpenSignal frequently crown T-Mobile as having the fastest US network, after which other testing outfits like RootMetrics come along to tout, no, Verizon instead. This time around, though, Ookla, which is a crowdsourced company, has declared AT&T the winner.

In a new investor note from Timothy Arcuri (obtained via CNBC), the UBS analyst writes that supply challenges may force Apple to delay its 5G compatible iPhone until 2021. With Apple still entangled in a legal battle with Qualcomm, Arcuri articulates that Intel may not be able to supply 5G modems at the scale Apple needs. What’s more, Arcuri writes that striking a deal with other 5G modem providers like MediaTek represents an “unlikely solution.”

Consequently, Arcuri believes that there is an “increasing potential that Apple may not be able to ship a 5G iPhone for 2020” as initially believed.

In case you forgot, Netflix is raising its prices next month

%name In case you forgot, Netflix is raising its prices next month by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Netflix customers in the US have started getting emails reminding them of some important news happening next month. No, it’s not about the return of The Crown or the fact that Umbrella Academy was just picked back up for season 2. Unfortunately, it has to do with everyone’s least favorite aspect of a Netflix subscription — the sporadic price increases that are an inevitability of the streaming giant needing a constantly growing pile of cash to fund its licensing needs as well as the original TV shows and movies that help the service keep a hold on subscribers. And, of course, to keep rivals at bay, including new ones like Apple TV+ and Disney+, that keep coming and coming.

In what has become a depressingly common refrain for the social network behemoth, Facebook user data has once again been left exposed to the public. According to researchers at security firm UpGuard, the first of the two data sets originates from Mexico-based media publisher Cultura Colectiva, weighing in at over 146 gigabytes and featuring over 540 million records, including Facebook IDs, comments, likes, and reactions.

The second data set, sourced from a Facebook app called “At the Pool”, was just a fraction of the size as the Cultura set, but contained more critical information, including plaintext Facebook passwords for over 22,000 users. Scariest of all, both data sets were stored in Amazon cloud storage buckets that allowed public downloads.

Flying might be the fastest way to travel over a long distance but you don’t have to look very hard to find plenty of reasons to hate it. Even if you don’t have a fear of heights or anxiety about flying you still have to deal with the fact that you’re packed into what is essentially a big stinky bus with wings, surrounded by strangers who oftentimes seem to make it their mission to annoy everyone around them.

Ick.

If you could remove other passengers from the equation you’d still be able to find a few flaws, but the experience would probably be a lot more enjoyable, right? One Lithuanian man got to savor that heavenly experience when he booked a flight from his home country to Italy in March, only to arrive at his gate and realize he was the only one who bought a ticket.
