It’s now been several months since Chinese geneticist He Jiankui announced to the world that he had genetically modified human embryos which were then carried to term and resulted in twin girls. His work, which has come under harsh criticism from every corner of the scientific community, landed him in state detention and he may even face the death penalty once all is said and done.

He’s fate aside, a group of genetics researchers are now demanding stricter regulations on human genetic modification, begging their colleagues to join them in an agreement to avoid such work until more can be learned about the potential medical and ethical risks of gene modification in humans.

After being hampered by stagnant growth as its rivals relentlessly copy and repurpose its core features, the next era in the story of Snapchat is apparently at hand. And it will have gaming at its core.

The popular ephemeral messaging app is reportedly set to host a summit for content creators and developers in Los Angeles on April 4, during which the company will formally unveil what it’s been referring to internally as “Project Cognac” — a gaming platform that includes a slew of new games for Snapchat users to play that were developed by outside creators.

It’s been a number of months since the failed Soyuz launch derailed plans for astronaut Nick Hague and cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin to head to the International Space Station, but they finally made it to their original destination. A few hours after launch, the Soyuz spacecraft carrying the trio docked with the space station, bringing the population of the ISS back up to its typical crew count of six. The newly-arrived scientists will spend roughly the next six months in space.
