Facebook just can’t catch a break. The target of myriad investigations, scandals and user ire that’s led to a steady migration away from the main app, the biggest social network in the world confirmed Thursday that the widespread outage that affected all of Facebook’s assorted properties the previous day, from Facebook itself to Messenger and Instagram, was caused by a “server configuration change.”

That may sound like a somewhat innocuous mishap, but what it led to was Facebook’s worst outage ever — one that brought with it all sorts of spillover effects, including the hit that countless small businesses which advertise on Facebook felt, as well as rival platforms like Telegram seeing a spike in sign-ups.

Marvel on Thursday morning released the second trailer for Avengers: Endgame, which is almost exactly when we expected it. After all, recent leaks said a brand new trailer would arrive shortly after Captain Marvel’s theatrical debut. The second trailer follows the same script Marvel used for the first Endgame trailer, getting the same message across: the world is in pain, the Avengers are suffering, but they’re not going to give up.

We’re treated to an amalgam of scenes taken from previous MCU films in the form of flashbacks, brand new Avengers 4 scenes that deliver tiny clues about what’s going to happen next, and lots of new hairstyles. Interestingly, the trailer confirms that the Avengers will indeed wear new suits like the one Hank Pym wore to travel to the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel finally appears in this trailer. This explains why Marvel wasn’t able to release the new trailer before the Captain Marvel premiere. Apple today confirmed that WWDC 2019 will kick off on Monday, June 3 and will run through Friday, June 7. The migration of Xbox Live to new platforms has officially begun, as Microsoft announced Thursday that it will launch a new software development kit (SDK) for developers to include Xbox Live functionality in their mobile games on iOS and Android. According to The Verge, this includes features like achievements, Gamerscore, friends lists, clubs, and family settings. Developers will be able to pick and choose which elements they want to add.

However deeply the developers choose to integrate Xbox Live into their games, the users will be able to access all of them with a single Microsoft Account sign-in. Microsoft will use the same identity network it uses on other platforms to support privacy, safety, and let users set up child accounts for underage gamers.

The Galaxy S10 hasn’t even been out a week yet, but Samsung is already looking toward the future. In a briefing this week, Samsung made it clear that while the Infinity-O display of the S10 is a “milestone,” it’s also a stepping stone on the path to a true full-screen display — one unimpeded by hole punches or bezels.

“Punching a hole in the OLED display is a very challenging technology,” explained Yang Byung-duk, vice president of Samsung’s Mobile Communication R&D Group Display, according to Yonhap News Agency. “We tried the technology for Galaxy’s 10th anniversary model and think the strategy worked as a result.”
