Say what you will about Tesla, but the company certainly knows how to generate some buzz. In a somewhat peculiar move lifted straight out of Apple’s playbook, Tesla earlier today took the order pages on its website offline. Instead, users looking to buy either a Model S, Model X, or Model 3 were shown a cryptic message that read: “The wait is almost over. Great things are launching at 2pm.”

Naturally, speculation as to what Tesla had in store quickly ran wild. Could it be the big reveal of the rumored Model Y, or even the intriguing Tesla pickup truck? Others, meanwhile, assumed that Tesla would finally announce the arrival of its long-promised $35,000 Model 3 or, perhaps, some wild new Autopilot-related announcement. Okay, we’ll just cut to the chase at this point. Just a few moments ago, Tesla updated its website and revealed that the $35,00 Model 3 — which was always part of Tesla’s master plan — is coming soon.

It’s official, smartphone aficionados: The next big thing in mobile is the foldable phone — well, that, and 5G, of course. The first foldable phone launched months ago, but the foldables you might actually want were unveiled at and around MWC 2019. First, Samsung with its Galaxy Fold, and then Huawei with the Mate X, showed us the future.

Foldable phones might not be ready for mass consumption yet, and they’ll be a premium product for years to come, but it’s really the only way to further extend the screen of the handset and offer users more screen retail estate on a device intended to fit in your pocket. NASA has learned a lot about Mars thanks to the efforts of its high-tech rovers. We’ve learned a lot about the composition of the planet’s surface, and thanks to Mars orbiters which can relay high-resolution images we know that a large portion of Mars was once covered in water. But we still don’t know if the planet ever supported life.

If NASA or any other scientific body could conclusively prove that life in some form once existed on Mars, it would be a monumental discovery to put it mildly. Now, a new research effort being undertaken in Chile’s Atacama Desert is giving scientists a clue as to how they might find evidence of life on Mars.
