Just as expected, storage solution vendors came out with new memory products at MWC 2019. But I can’t say I anticipated the 1TB microSD cards that were announced yesterday. However, before you get too excited about the amount of expandable storage you’ll be able to add to your Android smartphone, you should know that there’s already something better than a 1TB microSD card: the promise that the next-gen models will be incredibly fast.

Baseball game interrupted by eagle and osprey fighting over a fish

Humans like to follow schedules like, for example, when a college baseball game is going to take place, but Mother Nature couldn’t possibly care less about our plans. In nature, things happen when they happen and there’s no getting around it.

So, when a bald eagle and an osprey decided to face off over a dead fish in the middle of a game at Jacksonville University’s John Sessions Stadium on Saturday, the players just had to kind of let things happen. Ultimately, neither bird ended up with the meal, but it wasn’t for lack of trying.

Thirty-five years after first debuting on the big screen, the Gremlins are making a return, thanks in part to the increased competition among rival streamers jockeying for position in today’s fracturing TV landscape.

In the works is an animated series revisiting the comedy horror franchise about furry mogwai pets, which was released as a feature executive produced by Steven Spielberg back in 1984. It will apparently focus on the Chinese grandfather from the films, Mr. Wing. Per an exclusive report from Variety detailing this upcoming addition to WarnerMedia’s library of content, the series will show him as a young man “as he goes on adventures with the friendly Mogwai Gizmo.”

There’s a way to hide the Galaxy S10’s camera hole, but you’ll get a massive bezel instead

The Galaxy S10 may have not been unveiled in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, but the phone is still one the stars of the show. All of the variants, including the Galaxy S10 5G, are on display at Samsung’s huge booth, and there’s no question the Galaxy S10 is a great device. The phone’s Infinity-O screen is easily the signature feature of the Galaxy S10 series, and all four phones do have punch-hole cameras. I’d say that getting used to the “O” is even easier than the notch, but everyone may not agree. In fact, there is a way of hiding the screen’s display cutout completely. But angels in heaven will lose their wings if you do.

The ESA captures stunning images of ancient waterways on Mars

%name The ESA captures stunning images of ancient waterways on Mars by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Mars as we know it today is a dusty, dried-up ball of rock with a little bit of ice here and there, but things were much different a long time ago. Through the various missions undertaken by NASA and the European Space Agency we’ve known for a while now that Mars once had a whole lot of water on its surface.

Now, a new set of images from ESA’s Mars Express satellite offers a look at what was once a very wet area of the Red Planet. The photos show a landscape that, aside from the obvious impact craters left over from long ago, is quite similar to natural drainage patterns we see here on Earth.

Practically anyone who works in an office setting and has to answer to layers of management can sympathize with a certain kind of bureaucracy. The kind where good ideas have to confront the harsh light of middle- and upper-management review, where executives hearing an idea for the first time that had been the product of much study and review practically bat it away by suggesting something cringeworthy — or at the very least eye roll-inducing.

iOS 13 concept photos show off some awesome iPhone UI changes

%name iOS 13 concept photos show off some awesome iPhone UI changes by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

With WWDC fast approaching, we’re only a few months away from Apple officially unveiling iOS 13. As opposed to last year, the next-gen version of Apple’s popular mobile OS will likely introduce a number of new and compelling features. If you recall, iOS 12 largely focused on improving overall system performance.

With word that some of Apple’s more ambitious iOS features were pushed back from iOS 12 to iOS 13, it stands to reason that Apple at WWDC this year will have a number of interesting surprises in store for us. While iOS 13 rumors have been few and far in between, some of the leaked features we’ve seen thus far include a new Dark Mode, the overdue eradication of the volume HUD, and, intriguingly enough, a redesigned home screen.

Chinese scientists invent new method of sterilizing drinking water with sunlight

%name Chinese scientists invent new method of sterilizing drinking water with sunlight by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Making drinking water safe to consume is actually more complicated than you might imagine. Destroying bacteria in any water source can be a challenge, and the methods that are used to cleanse water before it is made available to the public are often costly and not great for the environment.

Now, researchers in China have come up with a novel new method for eliminating bacteria in drinking water that uses a special material and a bit of sunlight to disinfect large quantities of water in a relatively short period of time. A paper on the new method has been published in the journal Chem.
