Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ buyers seem to be confused about the amount of RAM on their phones, as some of these devices show 6GB instead of the minimum 8GB of RAM that Samsung advertises. It’s unclear what caused the mishap, but Samsung says that all Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ phones will have at least 8GB of memory on board.

Facebook will shut down the Onavo VPN app and its spying capabilities

%name Facebook will shut down the Onavo VPN app and its spying capabilities by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Facebook used a VPN app for years to spy on the users that the same app should have been protecting against online threats. Facebook learned details about how devices running the Onavo VPN app were used, as well as what apps and features were popular with consumers. After recent reports unearthed the true purpose of Onavo, Facebook reverted to a different ruse, paying customers including teenagers a monthly fee for access to their activities on smartphones. Facebook says the research program wasn’t secret but, at the same time, it did everything it could to hide its involvement until the very last minute. The Research app circumvented Apple’s App Store rules, which prompted Apple to remove Facebook’s certificate and wreak havoc at Facebook’s headquarters for more than a day. After all that, Facebook is ready to kill the Onavo VPN app on Android, which is the only place you could get it.

The world’s largest bee is back from the dead after nearly four decades

Finding an endangered or otherwise rare species in the wild can be very challenging for scientists, but hunting down something as small as a bee after nearly three decades of presumed extinction? Well that’s another kind of challenge entirely.

A colossal bee called Megachile pluto, and also known by the name Wallace’s giant bee, has been missing for quite some time. Or, at least it was missing, but that was before a team of researchers embarked on an expedition to determine if the species even still existed in its home of Indonesia. Now, for the first time in nearly four decades, we know that it is still around.

Citing reliability issues, Consumer Reports can no longer recommend Tesla’s Model 3

%name Citing reliability issues, Consumer Reports can no longer recommend Tesla’s Model 3 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Just a few weeks after Consumer Reports published a report claiming that Tesla’s Model 3 is the “most satisfying” car to own, Tesla’s mass market EV somewhat abruptly lost its ‘buy’ recommendation from the publication, according to a report published earlier today. Citing “reliability issues,” Consumer Reports relays that it found a number of problems pertaining to hardware along with fit and finish issues.

The report specifically cites issues with the vehicle’s touchscreen dashboard being prone to freezing, along with consumer complaints involving suspension, cracked glass, and paint issues.

Ticket pre-sales for ‘Captain Marvel’ are beating several other superhero blockbusters

We already told you last month that advance ticket sales are setting up Captain Marvel to have a huge open once this latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe arrives on March 8.

And the record pace of pre-sales is starting to come into even clearer focus, with advance sales for Captain Marvel beating those for five other Marvel titles — blowing past Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Deadpool, Doctor Strange and Ant-Man at those films’ same point in the Fandango sales cycle.

Apple’s self-driving car might be a lot different than we think

%name Apple’s self driving car might be a lot different than we think by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A somewhat curious report out of Germany claims that Apple hasn’t abandoned work on developing its own branded car. Even more bizarre, though, is a tidbit that Apple’s long-rumored electric car may not be a car at all, but rather an electric van.

Originally posted in the German-language Manager Magazin, the report claims that Apple has been busy working on van prototypes as it continues to expend R&D resources investigating a wide array of auto-related components, from battery technology to advanced electric motors.

The smartphone wars are only going to get more interesting this year, especially now that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 is official. The Korean giant confirmed almost all the rumors that preceded the Unpacked press conference, but that doesn’t make the Galaxy S10 and its variants any less impressive.

From design to new features to software, the phone is decidedly more interesting than its predecessor. And the fact that Samsung’s biggest Android rival is already trolling the Galaxy S10 series is proof of that.

You can drive this tiny electric vehicle without a license

%name You can drive this tiny electric vehicle without a license by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As electric vehicles gain traction in just about every form, the line between true “cars” and other alternative forms of transportation continues to blur. Citroën is perfectly fine with that, and its all-electric Ami One is an almost-car that you can drive even if you don’t have a license.

The two-seater looks a lot like some of the other quirky electric concepts we’ve seen over the past half decade or so, but the company is positioning it as a shareable vehicle akin to electric scooters which have begun to take over large cities.
