We know so many things about the unreleased flagship series that a prominent leaker last week actually got angry about someone else posting the full specs of the phones, as if those details were a very well-kept secret. Not too long ago, rumors regarding forthcoming Apple products were incredibly hard to come by. These days, it’s quite the opposite, in large part thanks to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who continues to deliver remarkably accurate research reports regarding upcoming products Apple has in the pipeline.

Over the weekend, Kuo dropped yet another goldmine of an investor note which shed a good deal of light on a number of new products Apple is planning to introduce later this year. Specifically, Kuo — in a note originally obtained by MacRumors — claims that Apple in 2019 will introduce four new iPad models, including two iPad Pro models, a 10.2-inch iPad that may replace the current 9.7-inch model, and last but not least, a brand new iPad mini 5.

It all started as a wild rumor a few months ago. Samsung would launch a Galaxy S10+ version with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, specs that no other Android phone can match right now. But more and more confirmations started coming in, as we got closer to Samsung’s Unpacked press conference. We saw a couple of price leaks from Europe, listing all Galaxy S10 versions including the 12GB/1TB model, as well as a benchmark leak in the past few weeks. The model would be significantly more expensive than other Galaxy S10 versions, those leaks said, and now we have a price leak from China that tells the same story.

It’s time for another installment in our ongoing look at the future that will be brought to you thanks to the increasingly worrisome capabilities of artificial intelligence. Everyone is aware of the problem of fake news online, and now the OpenAI nonprofit backed by Elon Musk has developed an AI system that can create such convincing fake news content that the group is too skittish to release it publicly, citing fears of misuse. They’re letting researchers see a small portion of what they’ve done, so they’re not hiding it completely — but, even so, the group’s trepidation here is certainly telling.

“Our model, called GPT-2, was trained simply to predict the next word in 40GB of Internet text,” reads a new OpenAI blog about the effort. “Due to our concerns about malicious applications of the technology, we are not releasing the trained model. As an experiment in responsible disclosure, we are instead releasing a much smaller model for researchers to experiment with, as well as a technical paper.”

Following a busy week full of potential (and legitimate) blockbusters, Netflix has a selection full of question marks this week, along with a couple of familiar properties. Once again, everything coming to the streaming service this week is an original film or series, but the only one that I recognized was Chef’s Table, which returns for Volume 6.

Of the five original films launching this week, Paddleton was the one to catch my eye. Starring Ray Romano and Mark Duplass, it’s a dramedy about two neighbors who find themselves inextricably linked together when one is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Romano isn’t on TV or in movies quite as often as he once was, but he seems to make it count when he is (see: The Big Sick). The good news is that we’re not losing anything of value this week.

NASA and other space agencies around the world have accomplished some seriously amazing things in space, but there’s been a big price to pay for those adventures, and not just financially. The space around Earth is now cluttered with what is lovingly referred to as “space junk” — bits of rockets, long-dead satellites, and other debris — and someone is going to have to clean it up sooner or later.
