%name ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ and all the other new movie trailers you need to see this week by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s Super Bowl weekend, movie fans, which means we’re about to get a bunch of new trailers for all sorts of coming attractions. That includes Avengers: Endgame (which is probably going to get a TV spot during the big game), but also plenty of other films. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the studios didn’t release that many new trailers this week. We do, however, have the first trailer for Hobbs & Shaw, as well as a few others exciting teasers for you.

Opening this week, we have Miss Bala, an action flick about a woman caught between the cartel and the police, as well as Arctic, a story about a man stranded at the Arctic after a plane crash, looking for a way out. A better choice might be Velvet Buzzsaw, which is launching in living rooms and bedrooms around the world, as it’s a Netflix creation.

Huge leak details a key ‘Avengers: Endgame’ battle that will help undo the deaths in ‘Infinity War’

%name Huge leak details a key ‘Avengers: Endgame’ battle that will help undo the deaths in ‘Infinity War’ by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We still have no idea how Avengers: Endgame will undo all those deaths in Infinity War, but they’ll almost certainly be undone. No matter how much it’ll cost certain heroes in terms of personal loss, and no matter how dramatic for the fans, Avengers 4 will show us how the Avengers beat Thanos. It’s the endgame that Doctor Strange prophesied, the one future where they win. Of course, Marvel’s next Avengers will cover the one future where they win, not one of the other 14 million where they don’t.

While we don’t know how the Avengers will win, we’ve seen a fair share of leaks and fan theories so far, many of them suggesting that time travel will play a key role in the upcoming blockbuster. That said, get ready for a mind-bending theory as well as a leak that, if true, might totally spoil the movie for us.

4 excellent Netflix original shows that might get canceled next

%name 4 excellent Netflix original shows that might get canceled next by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s hard to believe we’re already two months into 2019. It still feels like the year just started — with 12 months ahead of new TV and movies to binge and a watch list that keeps piling up as services like Netflix continue adding more to the pipeline to make that list get longer and longer.

The flip side to that coin, though, is that while Netflix continues spending billions of dollars on new content to add to the streaming platform, it’s also starting to cancel some of its growing library of original shows at a faster rate. The volume of content alone can make it difficult to keep up with what’s coming and going from the service, which is why it may be useful at this point in time while we’re still early in the year to share some predictions on the best Netflix originals that may be in danger of getting the axe before the year is out.

China deploys new rocket-launching robotic ship, but it’s not built for war

When one of the world’s superpowers deploys a robotic ship capable of launching rockets it’s safe to assume that it’s going to raise plenty of eyebrows. Well, that’s exactly what China just did, but this particular vessel isn’t concerned with protecting territory to fending off invaders.

The boat, which was designed and deployed by Chinese scientists, is far more concerned with the climate and weather patterns than military goals. The autonomous watercraft successfully launched a sounding rocket, which is a tool used by weather researchers to monitor conditions over a massive area, and its maiden voyage was chronicled in a new paper published in Advances in Atmospheric Sciences.

Google’s latest ‘Home Alone’-themed ad stars the villainous Joe Pesci

To promote the addition of a bunch of Home Alone-themed skills to its Assistant software for the holiday season, Google decided to release an ad dripping with nostalgia — in which Macaulay Culkin essentially reprises his role as the young tyke left home alone in the classic early 90’s flick. Except, this time, Google’s ad depicted Macaulay reprising the role with the benefit of Google Assistant making it easier to operate things inside the McAllister home as well as to keep it secure from the Wet Bandits.

The ad was apparently enough of a hit that Google decided to make another version of it. This time around, it stars none other than Joe Pesci, who we see wistfully watching the Home Alone ad on his TV along with some friends.

These days, however, the battle over who has access to your genetic testing results is hotter than ever, and a new report alleges that one of the largest private DNA testing companies has been aiding the FBI for months.

First reported by BuzzFeed News, Family Tree DNA admitted that it’s been working investigators to test DNA samples and potentially match them with suspects or their relatives. Needless to say, this isn’t sitting well with privacy advocates.

Here’s what would happen if Apple ever kicked Facebook off the App Store

%name Here’s what would happen if Apple ever kicked Facebook off the App Store by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Recent days have seen the simmering tension between Apple and Facebook reach an unprecedented level, after months of back-and-forth sniping, veiled potshots and a cold war between the two tech titans that suddenly became quasi-hot. The CEOs of both companies have taken shots at the other via public remarks before, but this week saw something remarkable — Apple blocked Facebook’s ability to work on beta versions of Facebook iOS apps internally as punishment for the creepy app you may have heard about that Facebook installed on some people’s phones to monitor everything they do. Apple has since restored Facebook’s enterprise developer certificates, which returns things to the status quo, but it does raise a question.
