Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled a bunch of new Infinity display variations, including the Infinity-O screen we expect to see on mid-range phones and on the upcoming Galaxy S10 flagship, but also the Infinity Flex screen suspected to be featured on the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone.

It all happened at Samsung’s developer conference, where Samsung also announced its new user interface that will power all its devices, including the foldable handset. What Samsung didn’t tell us at the time is what the foldable phone will be called, or when it’ll launch, but a new report offers us two possible names for the handset.

Everything leaving Netflix in December 2018

%name Everything leaving Netflix in December 2018 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After sparing us from virtually any significant removals in November, Netflix is apparently making up for lost time in December by kicking off a bunch of all-time classics from its service. These are the kinds of movies that you’ll want to put in your queue and watch one last time in the next couple of weeks before they vanish for good.

For example, Moana will no longer be on Netflix as of December 20th. That shouldn’t come as a big surprise with the launch of Disney’s own streaming service right around the corner, but that doesn’t make it sting any less. We are also losing Groundhog Day, Spotlight, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and all seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy. Also, I didn’t even realize The Brave Little Toaster was on Netflix, but it’s leaving too.

Facebook and Instagram, for the second time in the space of a week, have gone down in an outage that’s more or less impacted the services systemwide. The social platforms are back up and operating normally for some users, but there are still plenty of reports of spotty service or no service at all, amounting to yet another in a litany of black eyes and negative headlines facing the company, one after another, in recent days.

CDC: Throw away all your romaine lettuce, no matter where it’s from

%name CDC: Throw away all your romaine lettuce, no matter where it’s from by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

What the heck is going on with romaine lettuce? This year has been absolutely brutal for anyone who enjoys a good salad, with the CDC issuing alert after alert warning people not to eat lettuce grown from certain regions or purchased during certain time frames in specific areas.

Then, in May, we got a bit of good news: the lettuce was almost safe to eat again! Now, the CDC is going as far in the other direction as it possibly can, with a new bulletin urging everyone to throw out all romaine lettuce no matter where it was purchased from, what region it was grown in, or when it was purchased. It’s the lettuce apocalypse.

The worst year to be a human on Earth surprisingly isn’t 2018

%name The worst year to be a human on Earth surprisingly isn’t 2018 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If you take a look at recent events you might imagine that scientists searching for the worst year of human existence would have a hard time topping 2018. I mean, there are mass shootings every other day (and sometimes every day), wildfires destroying huge areas, hurricanes wiping communities off the map, and a planet that is slowly dying because we can’t stop messing stuff up.

And that’s just the United States. Elsewhere there’s drought, famine, disease, and never-ending conflicts.

Humans are just a mess right now, but a new study by researchers at the University of Maine and University of Nottingham have determined that the worst year to be a human isn’t 2018. It was the year 536.

2 things you’ll love about ‘Battlefield V,’ and 3 you won’t

%name 2 things you’ll love about ‘Battlefield V,’ and 3 you won’t by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

My relationship with the Battlefield series has evolved significantly over time. Battlefield 1942 (sealed in a solid brick of nostalgia) was one of the first shooters that I ever played, and remains one of the formative experiences in terms of what I expect from a shooter (right up there with Perfect Dark and Half-Life).

But while 1942 was basically a WWII sandbox, the series has taken countless twists and turns since 2002, throwing players further into the past, way into the far-flung future, and even taking them off of the front lines to explore smaller conflicts with the police-centric Battlefield Hardline. But after jumping around in the timeline, developer DICE decided to rewind all the way back to World War I in Battlefield 1, to great effect, no less.

Battlefield 1 wasn’t perfect, but after the mixed reaction to Hardline, it was a step back in the right direction for the series. So it only seemed natural that its sequel — Battlefield V — should bring the series full circle back to World War II. All DICE needed to do was build upon what worked so well in Battlefield 1… right?
