Netflix boasts more than 25% of the top 250 TV shows of all-time

Though Netflix’s early success can obviously be traced back to the company sending out DVDs of movies to customers in the mail, the company in recent years has done something of a 180. In a relatively short amount of time, Netflix has transformed itself into a streaming powerhouse filled to the brim with a wide array of original content. These days, people are more likely to think of Netflix as a place to watch original TV shows like Stranger Things than as a place to enjoy hit movies.

Indeed, with Netflix spending boatloads of cash on developing original content, it’s no secret that the selection of quality movies on Netflix has gone down considerably as the company has let a number of big-time licensing deals with movie studios lapse. What may be surprising, though, is that the selection of quality TV shows on Netflix is nearly twice as big as its selection of movies.

North Carolina man’s runny nose turned out to be a brain fluid leak

%name North Carolina man’s runny nose turned out to be a brain fluid leak by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A runny nose is usually a sign that you have a cold coming on, but for one North Carolina man, that cold never actually arrived. His sniffles persisted for over a year, with doctors diagnosing him with a variety of possible ailments. As it turned out, none of the suggested causes were actually correct.

With such long-running symptoms, the man, Greg Phillpotts, assumed he had developed some unusually severe allergies. During the days, his nose would run, and at night, he developed a nasty cough due to what he thought was mucus running down this throat. After a visit to New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, he learned that it wasn’t snot at all, but brain fluid leaking out of his skull.

A popular YouTuber was able to bend the new iPad Pro easily

%name A popular YouTuber was able to bend the new iPad Pro easily by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple unveiled its newest iPad Pro models a few weeks ago, which come in 11-inch and 12.9-inch variations. Both models come with new all-screen designs, Face ID support, and a monster A12X Bionic chip under the hood. Both tablets are smaller than the models they replace as well and are even thinner than before.

But, it turns out, the iPad Pros can be bent with your bare hands, so you’d better make sure you protect yours accordingly, and avoid placing it in areas where it could be easily damaged.

PlayStation Store Black Friday Sale: Save up to 50% on dozens of games

%name PlayStation Store Black Friday Sale: Save up to 50% on dozens of games by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Microsoft kicked off its massive Black Friday digital game sale yesterday, and while Sony didn’t quite match it today, the PlayStation team did share its own extensive list of discounted games, all of which are on sale right now. Whether you’re looking to complete your collection of 2018 blockbusters or want to buy some of the great titles you might have skipped over earlier this generation, there are nearly 200 games on the list.

Unlike the Xbox One sale, there don’t appear to be any restrictions on these deals. In other words, you don’t need to have a paid PlayStation Plus subscription to take advantage of the discounts. (That said, 12-month subscriptions for PlayStation Plus are down to $39.99 as well if you want to play any games online).

We’ve shown you so far plenty of exciting smartphone deals that will be available before or on Black Friday, but most of them do not support T-Mobile activations. To get a discount on one of the hottest phones of the season, including the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, Galaxy Note 9, or Pixel 3, you’d have to activate the phone on one of T-Mobile’s rivals.

But that doesn’t mean T-Mobile isn’t ready to offer customers a few exciting deals for Black Friday, and the promos are already out. However, they do come with certain conditions.

Elon Musk wants Model 3 production to hit 7,000 units per week before December

%name Elon Musk wants Model 3 production to hit 7,000 units per week before December by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

One of the bigger stories involving Tesla this year — aside from Elon Musk’s shenanigans on Twitter, of course — has centered on Model 3 production. Indeed, one of the reasons why Tesla’s ability to ramp up Model 3 production has drawn so much scrutiny over the past few months is because Musk has a bad habit of making ambitious promises regarding production that often go unfulfilled. If you recall, Musk initially promised that Model 3 production would reach 5,000 units per week by the end of 2017, a goal that Tesla didn’t come anywhere close to making.

Tesla eventually did reach its 5,000 unit/week milestone this summer, a good few months later than expected. During the company’s most recent quarter, the company noted that average Model 3 production checked in at 4,300 units per week. More specifically, Model 3 production during the last week of the September quarter checked in at 5,300 units.

Survey: 66M Americans will go into debt after splurging on tech this holiday season

%name Survey: 66M Americans will go into debt after splurging on tech this holiday season by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A new survey of a little more than 2,000 US consumers from buyback site Decluttr has turned up several interesting holiday-related retail trends, such as how tons of us are apparently going to way overspend on new tech and gadgets in the weeks to come. But by the time the holiday season is over, the survey’s findings also show, some 66 million Americans are also going to find they’ve gone into debt. Yikes.

Just in time for the holidays, the app that used to be everybody’s favorite photo-sharing service has expanded its feature set yet again, with new additions that don’t have anything to do with sharing images with your friends.

Then again, this is in keeping with the way things have been going at Instagram for a while now. We recently got IGTV: A kind of YouTube alternative and a place where we can watch longer form video content within the app. It scratches the same itch, albeit in a slightly different way, as Instagram’s super-popular disappearing Stories feature. And now the Facebook-owned service, with the holidays right around the corner, is rolling out new shopping-related features built around video, tabs, and profiles.

Why reports of weak iPhone XR sales shouldn’t be taken too seriously

%name Why reports of weak iPhone XR sales shouldn’t be taken too seriously by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Over the past few days, we’ve been inundated with reports surrounding what appears to be a lower than expected demand for the iPhone XR. Indeed, a number of investment firms have slightly lowered their price targets for Apple shares amidst reports that Apple recently reduced orders for iPhone XR components from suppliers. Bolstering this aura of pessimism around the iPhone XR are reports that some of Apple’s supply partners are anticipating less revenue for the quarter than initially expected.

Consequently, shares of Apple have taken quite a tumble over the past few days. Though the stock was trading at around $232 early last month, shares are now trading in the $191 range. Notably, we’ve seen this story play out many times before in the past. Specifically, we’ve seen how putting too much of an emphasis on supply chain reports can often paint an inaccurate picture regarding the current state of Apple’s business. The reason behind this is that Apple’s supply chain is far more vast and a tad more complex than other companies, if only due to the sheer scale that Apple operates on.
