A pair of new coronavirus studies looking at the virus’s ability to survive on different surfaces reveals that traces of SARS-CoV-2 were found on face masks for up to seven days after contamination.
The COVID-19 virus can survive anywhere from a few hours to a few days on different surfaces in regular temperature and humidity conditions.
Studies have shown that disinfectants, soap, as well as heat will help kill the virus.

More importantly, we told you that you shouldn’t let your guard down just because you’re protecting your nose and mouth with a piece of cloth or even an actual mask. First of all, that physical barrier doesn’t come with a 100% guarantee that you won’t get the virus. Secondly, you shouldn’t stop practicing social distancing and proper hygiene because you’ve got a mask on. To further reinforce that idea, we now have two different studies that looked at the survivability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Interestingly, one of them found traces of the microorganism for up to seven days on a mask.

A new coronavirus vaccine candidate might deliver its payload via a fingertip-sized patch made of sugar microneedles infused with a critical SARS-CoV-2 component.
Researchers are targeting the virus’s spike protein that allows it to latch onto human cells during infection.
The vaccine showed promise in mice, which developed a robust immune reaction to the COVID-19 virus.

The race is on to develop vaccines for the novel coronavirus that could provide long-lasting immunity and hopefully eradicate the COVID-19 disease. Dozens of vaccine candidates are in development around the world, including two that have reached the human trials phase in the US and China. In addition to boosting the immune response and creating the antibodies that would defeat the virus, the vaccine has to be safe for use. That’s why these vaccines likely won’t be ready for at least 12 to 18 months. The best-case scenario for one of them is to start being used on healthcare workers only as soon as this fall.

Not all vaccines have to be administered with a syringe, and researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have developed a vaccine that would be deployed via a fingertip-sized patch.

Amazon has shifted much of its focus away from so-called nonessential goods so it can devote more resources to shipping medical supplies to hospitals.
Despite the huge temporary change, there are still new deals that pop up each week on popular products including Amazon devices.
We’ve seen several sales already on this like Fire TV Sticks and Kindles, but this week Amazon is offering deep discounts on the Echo Dot and other best-selling Alexa speakers.

Pretty much everyone out there at this point is aware of Amazon’s temporary strategic shift. Maybe you saw the big announcement or perhaps you’ve just been trying to shop for various common items and noticed that they’re not shipping until sometime in late April or even early May. Whatever the case, Amazon has decided to temporarily suspend shipments of most nonessential goods, and it’s also not restocking them until sometime toward the end of the month. This way, the company can free up warehouse space and delivery capacity for things like medical supplies and cleaning products going to hospitals and government customers.

While most shipments of nonessential products are delayed, there are still plenty of deals to be found on popular items that will be delivered immediately. And needless to say, plenty of Amazon’s own devices are included among them. We’ve seen new deals each week on Amazon devices, and this week brings deep discounts on the wildly popular Echo Dot as well as several other Echo speakers and Echo Show smart displays.

The Echo Dot is one of Amazon’s two best-selling products of all time, and it’s pretty easy to see why.
