Now, Opera is making waves by stealing a page from Google’s playbook. The company recently announced the addition of free and unlimited VPN to the developer preview version of its desktop web browser, and now Opera is back with a new announcement. The latest build of its pre-release browser includes a new power saving mode that can increase a laptop’s battery life by 50% or even more.

A few days ago, a Model S parked itself using the Summon auto-park feature, crashing into a trailer in the process. The car’s sensors and software did not detect the trailer’s high bed and the car crashed into it. The driver discovered everything when he and a second person came out of a nearby building. When asked to explain the event, Tesla blamed the driver, saying that the Summon feature is activated by the user and that any Tesla driver looking to take advantage of it agrees to supervise the vehicle while it’s parking itself, to take control in case something unexpected happens.
While the driver wasn’t happy with Tesla’s response, it turns out that the company keeps incredibly detailed logs of how you interact with your car.

When Windows 10 first launched, one of its most controversial features was Wi-Fi Sense. If ticked, a couple harmless-looking boxes shared internet access to your Facebook, Skype and Outlook friends by default.
The setting (and its enabled-by-default nature) caused some people to get a little angry, although Microsoft defended Wi-Fi Sense as a useful feature. A year later, and it looks like Microsoft is changing its tune.

Hot on the heels of bringing 360-degree video to its social network, Facebook announced on Wednesday that it will also be giving users the ability to post 360-degree photos on the News Feed in the coming weeks. As with 360-degree videos, you’ll be able to click and drag on the photos in order see them in full.

BioLite first made news for its camping stove that uses a wood-burning chamber to boil water and also heat your phone. Since then, the company has branched out into a range of solid stoves, lights and solar panels. Its latest idea is a camping lantern with extra USB ports to charge your stuff, and a Bluetooth connection to your phone.

Late last month, Nintendo revealed that its next two mobile games would be based on the popular Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem franchises, but no specific release dates were announced. Google Fiber is set to have a big expansion year in 2016 but it looks like the game-changing internet service is already thinking of new ways to expand faster to new markets. A massive report about Google Fiber over at Re/code reveals more about Google’s ambitious plans to connect people to its service by placing antennas on top of light poles that will beam internet services right to their houses. Google Fiber will start testing out this technology in Kansas City in November, with the goal of having a network up and running by the end of next year.

Flash zero-day vulnerabilities are a dime a dozen these days, so you won’t be surprised to learn there’s another one in the wild. Microsoft and Adobe have independently found two distinct zero-day vulnerabilities for Internet Explorer and Flash, respectively, which means it’s time to update Windows and Flash. Apparently, exploits exist for both that allow for remote code execution.
