It was widely assumed that pre-orders for Tesla’s recently announced Model 3 would be impressive, but no one could have foreseen what has transpired over the last two days.

During Tesla’s special event this past Thursday, you might remember Elon Musk touting that the company had already secured over 115,000 Model 3 reservations from customers who hadn’t yet even seen the car. Not even 48 hours later, reservations for Tesla’s upcoming EV have already surpassed 253,000.

Nine months ago, SoundHound wowed the world when it took the wraps off Hound, a voice-enabled personal assistant that was not only faster than rival apps Siri and Google Now but that could understand and correctly answer questions of surprising complexity. This isn’t something that just happened overnight, however — it required nine years of work and incredible foresight on the part of its engineers. In an interview with BGR, SoundHound founder and CEO Keyvan Mohajer explained how he conceived Hound and how he expects to compete against rival digital personal assistants created by tech giants Apple, Google and Microsoft.

Jay Z has repeatedly proven himself to be one of the smartest business minds in the entertainment industry. That said, even the best sometimes make mistakes and right now it’s looking like Jigga’s decision to fork over $56 million to buy music streaming service Tidal has been a colossal bust. Bloomberg reports that Jay Z is suing former Tidal owner Schibsted ASA for allegedly misrepresenting the number of subscribers it had at the time it sold the service to S. Carter Enterprises LLC back in 2015.

One of the greatest unsolved mysteries of our time is the enduring popularity of Internet Explorer. Not only is it one of the least functional browsers available, but it was made obsolete when Microsoft launched Edge alongside Windows 10 last year.

On Tuesday, Snapchat unleashed one of the more meaningful software updates its app has seen in recent months. Dubbed Chat 2.0, the new update allows users to jump straight from sending a message to initiating a voice or audio chat.
