Foursquare and Swarm have been working together to utilize information gleaned from their apps to better analyze foot traffic at Apple retail stores across the globe. Based on some preliminary findings, they anticipate that iPhone sales this weekend will fall in the 11 to 13 million unit range.

Can BlackBerry make it as an Android vendor? It had better hope so because its own smartphone sales keep getting worse and worse. The once-mighty smartphone pioneer revealed on Friday (PDF) that it recognized hardware revenue on just 800,000 smartphones sold on the quarter with an average selling price of $240. It goes without saying that this is a very, very bad number for hardware sales — Apple is going to sell significantly more iPhones today alone. Whatever BlackBerry 10’s merits as a platform, it seems smartphone users are staying away from it in droves and that only a small slice of diehards are still buying new devices.

Stargazers are in for a treat Sunday when a supermoon combines with a lunar eclipse for the first time since 1982.
The supermoon eclipse will last 1 hour and 11 minutes, and will be visible to North and South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific, according to NASA. Weather permitting, the supermoon will be visible after nightfall, and the eclipse will cast it into shadow beginning at 8:11 p.m. ET. The total eclipse starts at 10:11 p.m. ET, peaking at 10:47 p.m. ET.
A rare phenomenon, there have only been five supermoon eclipses since 1900 (in 1910, 1928, 1946, 1964 and 1982). After Sunday, the next supermoon eclipse will occur in 2033.

Apple said during its iPhone 6s presentation that the new phones will have an even faster Touch ID fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home button. This appeared to be an inconsequential detail, considering all the other major new features Apple introduced. But it turns out the Touch ID is a lot faster than its predecessor, which might further improve your overall iOS experience.

The cheapest iPhone 6s costs $650, but it’s really not worth the money. Why? Apple makes plenty of accessories, but USB hubs cannot be counted among them. This is interesting since Apple’s ultra-thin line of laptops are all a bit lacking when it comes to available ports.
We’re not sure Apple will ever come around and start selling its own USB hubs to help users connect more devices to their MacBooks at once. If Apple ever did make a USB hub though, it would probably look something like the Inateck Unibody Aluminum 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub.
