The first iPhone 6s benchmarks are in, and they show that the new Apple smartphones are about as powerful as the new Retina MacBook, which is probably something not many people expected. Even so, monster iPhone 6s performance might pale in comparison to next year’s model, according to a new report that focuses on Apple’s iPhone 7 processor.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus shouldn’t arrive at your door for a few more days – I sure know mine isn’t here yet – but a lucky customer from California has already received her rose gold iPhone 6s, and she posted a slew of unboxing images as well as the first benchmark test results. And yes, benchmark scores say Apple’s iPhone 6s brings insane performance improvements compared to last year’s models. In fact, the numbers suggest the iPhone 6s is as powerful as Apple’s 2015 12-inch Retina Macbook.

To make things even better, this early iPhone 6s arrival is a rose gold model, the brand new iPhone color Apple introduced this year, which has caused quite a stir so far.

Email filters have existed forever. In fact, a few particularly annoying PR flacks probably would have driven me insane years ago had it not been for the ability to block their persistent pitches for clients whose products aren’t even close to being a fit for BGR. I’m sure everyone can relate — there are just always going to be some people you never want to hear from again.

Sadly, these types of stories are far more common that you might ordinarily assume.

Apple’s new iPhone 6s models are going to be available in stores in a few days, assuming there’s enough stock to go around, with many preordered units supposed to go out at the same time. The new iPhones are already sold out in online stores around the world, so many potential buyers will not be able to get their hands on the handset in the early days.

In addition to what Apple officially stated about the iPhone 6s models, many things have been discovered unofficially — the kind of information Apple never shares during keynotes or on its website, including RAM amount, A9 clock speed and battery size for the iPhone 6s. One detail that was still missing is the iPhone 6s Plus’ battery size, but a site just posted images of the new phablet’s battery and filled in the remaining blanks.

So many smartphones these days ship with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology baked in, but if you buy a cheap third-party charger, you’re not taking advantage of this great tech. Of course, you can still get an inexpensive charger that’s not “cheap.” Case in point: The Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 18W USB Turbo Wall Charger on Amazon.
