30 years ago today, Super Mario Bros. was released for the NES in Japan and the world of video games would never be the same. Arguably the most iconic and influential video game ever released, Super Mario Bros. was the rare game that managed to transcend the world of video games. From movies and TV shows to action figures and even candy, it’s hard to think of a product or medium that wasn’t graced in some way by the title.

Deservedly so, Super Mario Bros. was listed in the top spot in an IGN write-up of the top 100 video games of all-time.

Thanks to the iPhone’s new M9 motion coprocessor, iPhone 6s users will no longer have to have their devices plugged in and charging in order to activate the “Hey Siri” command. At last, we can cut the cord!

While this is certainly welcome news, especially for users who enviously took a gander at what “Ok Google” was capable of on some Android devices, an always-on and listening iPhone has understandably raised a few concerns regarding consumer privacy. In addition to questions surrounding data collection and the like, there’s also the practical matter of what happens when an iPhone 6s is an area where people (presumably your friends having fun at your expense) keep on shouting “Hey Siri” to bring your phone to life.

As part of a new ad campaign called There’s Nothing Like Australia, Tourism Australia decided to put a new spin on the selfie that, believe it or not, is not nauseating. Actually, it’s pretty cool, and the way it works is creative and simple.

If you’re in Australia and happen to find yourself at a location that’s just begging for a selfie, you can put away your selfie stick for good. Instead, find a nearby GIGA Selfie platform and make sure you have the GIGA Selfie app. If that’s all squared away, you can proceed to use the app to take a photo of yourself via a fixed camera located hundreds of feet away.

The stunt performed in the video below is pretty crazy. Zak Maytum, a downhill longboard racer from Colorado, recently decided it’d be a cool idea to hop on his longboard and fly down a Boulder highway at about 70 miles per hour. And oh yes, did we mention that the highway has a speed limit of 30 miles per hour?

The video really does a great job of conveying how fast Maytum is going. And in case you need any proof, if you keep an eye out for when Maytum crouches down and puts his gloves to the pavement, you’ll literally see sparks flying. Clearly, he’s flying down the street like a speed demon.
