Amazon is an awesome company to its customers. To its employees, however, it’s anything but. The New York Times over the weekend released a bombshell report detailing what it’s really like to work for Amazon and it seems that being on the payroll of Jeff Bezos is a miserable and soul-draining experience.

For decades, AT&T actively helped the NSA engage in widespread surveillance on both phone calls and Internet traffic. Citing documents made available by former NSA employee Edward Snowden, The New York Times and ProPublica both report that AT&T and the NSA have long shared a working relationship that is much closer than most people previously imagined.

In what one classified document termed a “highly collaborative” relationship, AT&T employed a number of varying methods to help the NSA acquire an incomprehensible amount of data.

Say what you will about Comcast and their customer service, but the company does provide the fastest internet speeds amongst all nationwide ISPs. As we highlighted earlier this month, Comcast Xfinity delivers an average download speed of 104Mbps alongside an average upload speed of 12.7Mbps.

That’s great and all, but with Comcast simultaneously implementing a rigid 300 GB data cap on its users, the company has naturally been accused of teasing users with download speeds that can quickly eat into the 300 GB threshold and subsequently result in fines for going over.

Samsung this week introduced a new QWERTY keyboard accessory for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, proving once again that truth is stranger than fiction. The year is 2015, and Samsung, as it desperately tries to inject some life into slumping smartphone sales, decided it might be a good idea to conjure up the spirit of BlackBerry circa 2010.

Even if we completely ignore how it looks, how much it costs ($80!), and whether or not anyone is even interested in using a smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard these days, Samsung’s new accessory is an utter disaster for one simple reason — it doesn’t work.

The traditional pay TV bundle is slowly dying. New data released by research firm SNL Kagan this week showed that pay TV services lost a total of 625,000 subscribers last quarter, which is the largest quarterly loss in the industry’s history. While the pay TV industry typically loses subscribers in the second calendar quarter ever year, this year’s losses absolutely dwarfed the 352,000 net customer loss that pay TV services posted in Q2 2014.

Stories surrounding car hacking seem to be all the rage these days. The issue was first thrust into the spotlight a few weeks ago when famed hackers Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek were able to take over Wired reporter Andy Greenberg’s jeep as it sped down the highway at 70 mph.

Such is the risk involved with connected cars. On the one hand, the technology that underlies modern vehicles makes driving more convenient, efficient, and enjoyable than ever before. On the other, expanded capabilities opens up the door for hackers to potentially wreak havoc.

That being the case, there’s one car company, above all others, who has their security game on lock down. Not surprisingly, that company is Tesla.
