To make $90,000 a year, an UberX driver would have to work “27 hours a day, 365 a year.” That’s what one reporter learned after going undercover as an UberX driver to see whether the company’s income claims could be verified in real life. After 100 rides, she concluded that she would need to work 10 hours per day for six days each week, and take just one week off each year, to make about $30,000 annually before taxes.
That’s a third of what Uber claimed is the median income for UberX drivers in New York City.

Listening to sports talk radio in Boston this week has been a hilarious and surreal experience. Even though I’ve long been a Patriots fan myself, I also do my best to keep at least one foot firmly planted somewhere in reality. And that reality tells me, despite whatever Patriotic biases I might have, that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady most likely has been cheating for years. People: Never lend Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy your smartphone, no matter how nicely he asks you. Hilsenteger, who really hit the big time last fall with his infamous iPhone 6 Plus bending videos, this week posted a new video that shows what happens when you shoot a Galaxy S6 edge with a Desert Eagle semi-automatic pistol. As you’d exepct, the S6 edge does not survive — however, the slow-motion video is filmed in 4K and is actually a lot prettier than any other smartphone destruction video we’ve seen.

Fascinating excerpts from an upcoming book about Tesla CEO Elon Musk are slowly but surely starting to trickle in. Earlier in the week we highlighted a few choice quotes allegedly delivered by Musk, including one instance where, it is claimed, he tore into an employee for missing a company event so that he could witness the birth of his child. Notably, Musk has since come out and denied that any such exchange took place.
