We have yet to actually see it, but the next-gen PS5 is one of the hottest products of the year. That’s assuming Sony launches the PS5 on time this year, considering everything that’s going on right now with the novel coronavirus. This health crisis is probably the reason why the PlayStation 5 design remains a mystery. Sony was supposed to hold a PlayStation event in February or March, but that never happened. Sony didn’t even have time to send out media invites for such an event, so we have no way of knowing whether the company really planned to reveal the new console in early 2020. Sony also pulled out of all other tech events that followed, including MWC and a few gaming shows.

Aside from the PS5 logo reveal at CES 2020, Sony had just two other major PS5 announcements this year, including the PS5 specs announcement and the new DualSense controller unveiling. But a PS5 announcement might be just around the corner, according to several reports from the past few days. Now, one of those leakers claims that PS5 preorders might start very soon.

• Men with prostate cancer who were under androgen-deprivation therapy were less likely to get COVID-19, and less likely to develop a severe case if they were infected.

One such example is remdesivir, which was developed for Ebola but never used to treat it. Then there’s the controversial hydroxychloroquine, a decades-old anti-malarial that can help some COVID-19 patients, but it’s not as effective and safe as people would have hoped. Anti-viral favipiravir (Avigan) was made for influenza but it might work on COVID-19 as well. And if this new study is right, a treatment that’s usually given to prostate cancer patients could be used to protect men from the novel coronavirus.

• Reports of deceased individuals receiving coronavirus stimulus checks have been popping up in recent weeks.
• This week, the IRS updated its website to explain that any Economic Impact Payments sent to people who died before they received the payments need to be returned.
• The IRS wants people to either send back the stimulus checks or write checks for $1,200 to the US Treasury if the money has already been deposited in a bank account.

When the US Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act in March, it seemed inevitable that there would be more than a few bumps in the road as the government attempted to implement all of the policies it had introduced. Some rolled out surprisingly smoothly, such as the $1,200 Economic Impact Payments, but there have been some kinks for the Treasury Department to work out along the way.

For example, in mid-April, one Indiana resident who was expecting $1,700 from the government found $8.2 million in his bank account on a Friday which had promptly disappeared without a trace by Monday. This only appears to have happened once, but another issue has arisen in recent weeks: Deceased Americans are receiving stimulus checks, and in an updated FAQ on its website, the IRS says that they have to send it back.

We can even get vaccines each year to help avoid reinfection.

Of course, we don’t have that luxury with COVID-19. There is no treatment for the novel coronavirus and there’s no telling if you’ll be able to walk it off or end up with a more severe case. But the months that have passed since the first cases were registered in China allowed researchers to study the virus closely and develop all sorts of treatment ideas that work.

Some treatments will be deployed immediately in hospitals, like remdesivir and blood thinners. Others will take more time, like the vaccine candidates that are in clinical trials. But there’s another form of COVID-19 therapy that’s starting to emerge and it looks like it’s already showing promising results. At least two separate teams claim they have identified antibodies that can kill the coronavirus, and the good news is these chemical compounds can be built into drugs that could be available to patients very soon.
