Several rumors that preceded Apple’s WWDC 2019 keynote said that the Find My iPhone and Find My Friends app would be merged into a single entity called Find My once iOS 13 and macOS 10.15 rolled out. Apple sure delivered on that front, releasing a new application that exceeded anyone’s expectations. The app can find lost or stolen devices as well as friends, but, unlike its predecessors, it can even find devices that have been turned off after being stolen.

Apple came up with an innovative yet secure way to pinpoint the location of iPhones, iPads, and Macs that don’t have an active cellular or Wi-Fi connection. These devices send out Bluetooth signals that can be picked up by other Apple devices out in the wild, and that’s how you end up with the last known location of your stolen gadget. The whole thing has been conceived in such a way that location information is only available to you, and the technology behind the feature can’t be abused or used to track other people.

There is no weekend of the year that gamers anticipate more than the weekend before E3. Over the next few days, the likes of Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, and Square Enix will announce new games that will launch over the next year. We might even learn more about Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox consoles, which are codenamed Anaconda and Lockhart. And maybe Nintendo will surprise us with a cheaper Switch as well.

The biggest surprise is that Sony has decided to sit E3 out for the very first time. With a new console in development, and only a few exclusive PS4 titles left to release, Sony has opted to lay low until it has more to share. Will Microsoft and Nintendo be able to take advantage of Sony’s absence? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Apple spent plenty of time on stage during its WWDC 2019 keynote presentation earlier this week discussing all of the biggest new features it added to iOS 13. This is the software that will power the majority of Apple devices out there for the year to come, so it obviously makes sense that the company wanted to spend so much time focusing on it. Of course, Apple executives could have spent the whole day on stage rattling off new iOS 13 features considering how many changes are baked into Apple’s new mobile software. It’s a good thing, too, considering last year’s iOS 12 update was focused entirely on fixing the mess that iOS 11 made, so there weren’t any novel new features to speak of. iOS 13 had to be packed to the gills with changes, but that means there are so many new features, users will have a hard time finding them all.
