The mysterious SpaceX Crew Dragon explosion is still being investigated

%name The mysterious SpaceX Crew Dragon explosion is still being investigated by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

SpaceX has been on a real hot streak as of late, with many successful missions and firsts, like the successful docking of its Crew Dragon capsule to the International Space Station. A small speed bump in that otherwise smooth road came in late April when a test of the Crew Dragon resulted in an explosion and total loss of the spacecraft.

Details regarding the accident have been hard to come by, and SpaceX waited quite a while before even acknowledging that it had lost the Crew Dragon in the incident. Several weeks have now passed and, despite a small info dump that came over a week after the explosion, the investigation into why the craft detonated remains ongoing.

Don’t ask how AirPods 2 are still discounted on Amazon, just get a pair

%name Don’t ask how AirPods 2 are still discounted on Amazon, just get a pair by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When Amazon first slashed the price of the Second-Generation Apple AirPods with Charging Case, we called it a “rare” deal. And of course it was, since brand new Apple products almost never get a discount, let alone the 12% discount Amazon offered on the AirPods 2. It has now been a few weeks though, and the price is still down to an all-time low of $139.99. So at this point, we can’t really call the deal “rare” anymore. We can tell you that you should hurry up and order a pair though, because once this deal is done there’s no telling if or when it will be back. Note that AirPods 2 are sold out right now, but you can still place your order to lock in the discount and they should ship within a few weeks.

Pokemon has been one of the most recognizable brands on the planet for over two decades, but its profile somehow got even higher when Pokemon Go took the world by storm in 2016. Since that summer, The Pokemon Company has been pumping out Pokemon games, apps, services, and hardware at a brisk pace, but based on the company’s press conference on Wednesday in Japan, we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Although a few additional announcements were scattered in between, there were four major reveals during the press conference on Wednesday morning. We’ll run through all of them below, but they include new mobile games, a new Switch game, new services, and new hardware to take advantage of those services.

New render shows Google’s unreleased Pixel 4 with a gorgeous twist

%name New render shows Google’s unreleased Pixel 4 with a gorgeous twist by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Something very interesting will happen this year when Google finally releases its next-generation Pixel 4 flagship phone lineup in October: it will sell smartphones that feature more modern designs than Apple’s iPhone lineup from the same year. That statement will be an objective truth since Apple decided to stick with its notched display design from 2017, while Google has moved on to the hole-punch display design that is becoming prominent in 2019. Going one step further into the realm of the subjective, we would also argue that Google’s upcoming Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL might actually feature better designs than the upcoming iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R. A hole-punch display doesn’t offer any advantage compared to a display with a notch in terms of the user experience, but we think it’s a much better-looking design.

What’s particularly interesting about all this is the fact that Google’s Pixel lineup was born as a shameful iPhone 6 copycat since it was designed by HTC, which was going through quite a phase at the time. The original Pixel phones were literally just iPhones with a big glass plate slapped on the back at the top of the phone, the Pixel 2 series wasn’t much different, and the current-generation Pixel 3 XL swiped Apple’s notch from the iPhone X. With its updated design, however, 2019’s Pixel 4 will be the first Google phone to move beyond the iPhone and, well, copy a Samsung smartphone instead. Whatever the case, the bottom line is that Android fans will soon be able to get their hands on the sleekest and most modern “pure Android” phones ever. While they wait, a new render from a leading designer shows Google’s upcoming Pixel 4 with a twist we would love to see materialize.

When Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled smart plugs drop down into the $7-range, it’s a no-brainer. Buy them. Similar products from big brands sell for between $20 and $30 a piece, and they do the exact same things. Today, however, we stumbled upon a sale with pricing so good that it has to be a mistake. This is our first look at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 design

%name This is our first look at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 design by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A camera leak earlier this week prompted a prominent leaker to post a render showing the purported Galaxy Note 10 rear design. The phone, we were previously told, will not copy the Galaxy S10’s design. The hole-punch camera on the front will have a central position, while the rear camera module will be placed vertically along the left side of the handset. Comparatively, the Galaxy S10’s selfie cam is found in the top right corner, while the rear multi-lens camera setup is placed horizontally in the center of the top side of the phone. With the help of these leaks, a designer created a new concept image for the Note 10, which the leaker approved.

Intel has a dual-screen laptop, and the foldable screen isn’t the only exciting part

%name Intel has a dual screen laptop, and the foldable screen isn’t the only exciting part by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Computex 2019 is underway in Taiwan, and we’ve already seen a bunch of exciting news coming out from the trade event concerning the future of computing. Intel’s powerful new chips for ultraportable devices will make Full HD gaming possible on ultra-thin laptops, and ARM has unveiled the next-gen reference mobile chip designs that will power next year’s flagship Android handsets as well as a slew of always-on 5G laptops. On top of that, we saw a few smartphones come out of Computex, as well as a slew of laptops that will hit stores soon. But Intel’s dual-screen gaming notebook prototype is certainly a notable device, and that’s not just because of that folding mechanism.
