Do you ever just feel totally burned out? I don’t mean the run-of-the-mill exhausted feeling we all endure from time to time, I mean really, really burned out? Most of us assume that a feeling of “burn-out” is just one of the many pleasures of modern lives, juggling work, family, friends, and other responsibilities, but a new report from the World Health Organization suggests it’s something more.

A new update to the International Classification of Diseases now lists “burn-out” as an actual medical condition that can be diagnosed. It’s characterized as intense tension and feelings of exhaustion, but there are some important differences between regular old stress and what is now officially termed burn-out.

Cable companies might have a secret weapon to deal with cord-cutting

%name Cable companies might have a secret weapon to deal with cord cutting by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Cable companies like Altice USA Inc. are starting to gravitate toward a business move that might — might — help them staunch the mounting losses on the cable side of their business. The solution? Offering cut-rate cellphone service, which no one wants to be without, and try to use it to retain customers who’d otherwise dump a cable company altogether.

Driving a tank in ‘Hell Let Loose’ is the most fun I’ve ever had playing a first-person shooter

%name Driving a tank in ‘Hell Let Loose’ is the most fun I’ve ever had playing a first person shooter by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Games like PUBG and Fortnite have inspired a Battle Royale revolution in the past few years, with many players being instantly drawn to the concept. Whether it’s everyone for themselves or playing in teams, these Battle Royale games are all basically the same. You have to collect items, find shelter, build defenses in some cases, and eventually hope you can pull the trigger faster than the other players to win.

But not every multiplayer shooter has to be like that. And I happen to have had the time of my life driving a tank for hours in an incredible World War II setting, even if most of the time nothing really happened.

MacKenzie Bezos promises to donate half of her $37 billion fortune to charity

The saga involving Jeff Bezos earlier this year almost reads like a script for an upcoming Netflix drama. All the ingredients are there: a famous CEO who just so happens to be the richest man in the world, an illicit affair involving trips around the world, leaked nudes and text messages, possible hacking, and an extortion attempt from a notorious gossip rag that was seemingly bankrolled by a foreign government.

Without getting into all of the seedy details involving the National Enquirer’s efforts to extort Bezos, a quick overview of the events might be helpful. In short, Bezos in February explained why he was not going to give in to the extortion attempt in a post on Medium.

Malaysia would very much like the United States to stop sending it boxes of trash

If a package showed up at your doorstep containing nothing more than garbage you’d probably demand to know where it came from and, once you figured that out, would likely want to return the trash to its rightful owner. That’s exactly what the entire country of Malaysia is attempting to do right now, and it says the United States is just one of several countries that illegally sent plastic trash to its shores.

Officials in Malaysia say that they received several hundred tons of mislabeled plastic refuse that is completely non-recyclable. As CNN reports, the shipments apparently contained contaminated plastics as well as e-waste.

OnePlus 7 Pro goes head-to-head with Galaxy S10 Plus in new speed test

%name OnePlus 7 Pro goes head to head with Galaxy S10 Plus in new speed test by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After an endless number of leaks, which seems to be par for the course for Android handset manufacturers these days, the OnePlus 7 Pro was officially introduced about two weeks ago. And while it’s sometimes easy to get bogged down with a seemingly endless stream of new Android handsets, the OnePlus 7 Pro brings a whole lot to the table and is definitely worth paying close attention to if you want a premium Android experience.

Spec wise, the OnePlus 7 Pro is a screamer. Whether we’re talking about the device’s display, performance, battery, or wildly intriguing camera scheme, the OnePlus 7 Pro is impressive across the board. For now, though, we’re gonna focus on speed. And in particular, we’re gonna hone in on how fast the OnePlus 7 Pro is relative to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S10+.

Redmi just undercut the OnePlus 7 Pro with a cheap ‘flagship killer’ of its own

%name Redmi just undercut the OnePlus 7 Pro with a cheap ‘flagship killer’ of its own by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

OnePlus launched three new OnePlus 7 versions in the past few weeks, including a phone that looks a lot like the OnePlus 6T, a OnePlus 7 Pro that features a brand new design, and a 5G version of the Pro phone that’s only available in the UK for the time being. In the process, OnePlus increased the price of its new flagship, making the OnePlus 7 Pro its most expensive new handset ever.

The handset is still more affordable than competing flagships from Apple, Samsung, and Huawei, but it’s by no means the cheapest flagship killer you can buy. That title is reserved for a different handset from China — one that you might not be able to find in stores, however.

NASA just released a hype video for a Moon mission that probably won’t happen

%name NASA just released a hype video for a Moon mission that probably won’t happen by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

NASA has planned on returning to the Moon for some time now, hashing out plans for its Lunar Gateway which will eventually serve as a jumping-off point for travelers headed to the Moon’s surface. Then, back in March, the current presidential administration decided it wanted NASA to complete a return to the Moon as soon as possible, offering a mere five years to complete the task.

The request was, to put it bluntly, absurd. NASA doesn’t have the funding to pull it off, and even if it did it would require a truly monumental effort to meet the arbitrary deadline. Despite this, Trump-appointed NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine eagerly accepted the “challenge,” and while everyone waits to see whether lawmakers will provide enough cash for a Moon 2024 mission to be possible, NASA just launched a hype video of sorts to assure everyone that a 2024 Moon mission is definitely, totally happening.

Video shows a Model 3 on Autopilot swerve out of the way to avoid hitting an SUV

%name Video shows a Model 3 on Autopilot swerve out of the way to avoid hitting an SUV by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a marked increase in the number of videos depicting Tesla’s Autopilot feature assume control of a car and maneuver out of potentially dangerous situations. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that Tesla’s Autopilot technology continues to improve, not to mention the fact that the number of Tesla vehicles on the road continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

While Tesla’s Autopilot feature is far from perfect — as a recent Consumer Reports review recently revealed — there’s no denying that it’s an intriguing step towards a future where advanced automotive technologies will routinely help prevent what might otherwise be tragic collisions.
