Latest Galaxy S10 software update freezes the phone, forces reboots

%name Latest Galaxy S10 software update freezes the phone, forces reboots by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Galaxy S10 might be one of the best Android phones out there right now, but it’s only as good as the software it runs. And if you’ve installed Samsung’s big Android latest update, then you might be dealing with a few annoying issues right now, including a bug that freezes the phone, requiring a restart or even forcing a reboot on its own.

Samsung released the update a few days ago, with version XXU1ASE5 packing a few camera improvements as well as the May 2019 security patch from Google. In other words, it’s an update you definitely need. However, it’s also one that you should postpone for as long as possible if you haven’t installed it yet, so that Samsung can fix the issues that have been plaguing users.

Edifier’s shockingly great S3000Pro wireless speakers blow away Sonos and Bose

%name Edifier’s shockingly great S3000Pro wireless speakers blow away Sonos and Bose by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

I have a Sonos system in my home and I have always been impressed with the sound quality. To my ear, it’s far better than comparable Bose systems because the sound is more natural and the tuning is far better. I test plenty of speakers from other brands as well, but nothing has ever topped Sonos for me unless you’re willing to spend some serious cash. That all changed recently, however, when I received a pair of Edifier S3000Pro Audiophile Active Speakers to test. I’ve had them for a few weeks now, and my jaw still hits the floor every single time I turn them on.

These incredible speakers have Bluetooth 5.0 aptX support as well as multiple wired digital and analog audio inputs, so you can stream music to them on their own or connect them to an existing sound system. They feature planar silk diaphragm tweeters as well as a 6.5inch aluminum alloy diaphragm bass unit, the combination of which produces mindbogglingly clean sound at low volumes and when cranked all the way up. You won’t believe the bass that the S3000Pro speakers produce — it’s like nothing else in this class.

At $799.99, a pair of Edifier’s S3000Pro speakers are priced just $100 higher than a Sonos Playbar, but the sound they produce is in a completely different league. You truly have to hear them to appreciate what Edifier has pulled off with these speakers.

Edifier S3000Pro Audiophile Active Speakers – Bluetooth 5.0 aptX Wireless, USB Audio, Planar Di…: $799.99

Here’s more info from the product page:

  • WIRELESS LEFT/RIGHT SPEAKER SETUP – Edifier’s first plug-in speaker system that offers wireless left and right speakers — creating new possibilities for more pleasing, practical audio setups.
  • KLEERNET WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY – For vastly improved efficiency and quality over traditional Bluetooth speakers. Near lossless audio quality at up to 328ft (100m)
  • HIGH QUALITY STREAMING AND EASY CONNECTIVITY – Certified Hi-Res audio and Bluetooth 5.0 support with aptX HD Decoding. Together, they provide airy, transparent studio-quality sound from USB audio bitrates of up to 24Bit/192KHz for near lossless sound quality. Perfect for enthusiasts, artists and industry professionals alike.
  • CLEAR MORE NATURAL SOUNDING HIGHS – Edifier’s signature planar diaphragm tweeter provide clearer, better highs than the competition. Discover new sensations from old songs.
  • POWERFUL ROOM-SHAKING BASS – Courtesy of a 6.5″ aluminium alloy diaphragm bass unit. Get the strong distortion-less bass you need for everything from movies to music.

The iPhone app you need to stop spam calls is on sale for free today

%name The iPhone app you need to stop spam calls is on sale for free today by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The spam call problem that has plagued us for years has never been worse than it is today. People in some regions can get as many as 10 or even more spam calls in a single day, and most list-based subscription services don’t do much to curtail these nuisance calls. Even anti-spam call services from wireless carriers tend to be useless, and paid subscription services from third-parties aren’t much better. It’s simply too difficult for these services to keep up when spam callers are constantly spoofing new numbers.

Thankfully, there’s a new crop of apps out there that take a different approach to spam call blocking. Spam calling services often spoof a number and then auto-dial similar numbers that have the same area code and prefix. So, for example, if your phone number is (212) 555-1234, you likely get spam calls all the time from phone numbers that begin with (212) 555. These new spam call blocking apps allow you to block all calls from numbers that start with your area code and prefix, and one such app just went on sale for free for Memorial Day 2019.

This is how incredible iOS 13 might look on the iPhone 11

%name This is how incredible iOS 13 might look on the iPhone 11 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The biggest and most hotly anticipated news of 2019 for Apple fans is obviously the upcoming release of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R, or whatever Apple ends up naming its next-generation iPhone lineup. Apple is rumored to be using the same iPhone design that it introduced on the iPhone X in 2017 and then recycled on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max last year, making this the second time Apple has reused the same hardware design for three consecutive years. As it did with the iPhone 7 back in 2016, however, the company plans to separate its new iPhone 11 series from previous models using a huge camera upgrade and some more new features. The triple-lens camera that will make its way to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max has leaked extensively, and we’ve also read rumors about a new frosted glass back as well as features like wireless power sharing and more.

The iPhone 11 series should end up being a fairly big update despite falling behind the times a bit where design is concerned, and Apple fans who upgrade will be buzzing about the new models for months. There’s no question that tens of millions of new iPhone 11 phones will be sold in the 12 months following Apple’s upcoming launch. But there’s also no question that the majority of iPhone owners will pass on the upgrade. The good news for the hundreds of millions of iPhone owners who won’t be getting an iPhone 11 is that their current phones are still about to feel fresh and new. As has become customary each year, Apple will unveil its huge mobile platform update next week at the annual WWDC conference in California. The company will then continue to refine iOS 13 until its public release this coming September. We already know about plenty of new features headed to iOS 13 thanks to a series of leaks, and now a graphic design has imagined what iOS 13 will look like on Apple’s newest iPhone and iPad models.

iPhone 11 tipped to support dual Bluetooth audio connections

%name iPhone 11 tipped to support dual Bluetooth audio connections by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple will unveil a trio of new iPhones in September, which are likely to look a lot like their predecessors when it comes to the notch. The iPhone 11 phones are going to pack the same all-screen design that Apple introduced back in 2018, complete with Face ID functionality. The rear sides of the phones will see the main change, as each of the three phones will feature an extra camera lens, according to recent reports. We’re looking at triple cameras for the iPhone XS and XS Max successor, while the iPhone 11R is tipped to receive a dual-lens main shooter. Hardware upgrades are also expected for the new phones, including a new processor generation that should further improve the phone’s speed and power efficiency, although we don’t have any specifics at this time. A new report from Asia also claims the new iPhones will also get better Bluetooth that will support dual audio streams.
